The first two Rock of Love winners didn’t last long, as Bret Michaels ended his relationships with original Rock of Love winner Jes Rickleff and Rock of Love 2 winner Ambre Lake. After those two didn’t pan out, Bret Michaels got back on the horse for a third season of the VH1 reality hit with Rock of Love Bus, which puts the show on the road as the women pile into his tour bus and ride across the country with Bret until he finds a new winner.
This week Bret’s cross-country tour for love ended and he’s chosen his third Rock of Love: Penthouse Pet of the Year, Taya Parker.
For Jes Rickleff, the punky Illinois bartender and hairstylist, being the winner of Rock of Love was short-lived. By the time the girls and Bret Michaels came back for the reunion show, their relationship had ended and Jes said that runner-up Heather Chadwell would’ve been a better choice for Bret.
After the show, Jes went back to her hometown where she still tends bar and styles hair. In addition, Jes is the co-owner of her own clothing line called Chii Clothing Culture. Shortly after the first season of Rock of Love finished, the New York Post reported that Jes was romantically linked to a Chicago-based clothing designer, and on her official MySpace page, Jes Rickleff’s status is listed as “In a relationship.”
Things also didn’t work out for Rock of Love 2 winner Ambre Lake, though luckily she had an acting career to fall back on. She has a Masters of Fine Arts from Michigan State University.
Lately Ambre Lake has been hosting various rock ‘n’ roll events across the country, and her newest endeavor is endorsing a new clothing line called Revolution Rock for Revolution Clothing. The lesson is that if you want to break into the fashion industry, winning Rock of Love runs a close second to appearing on Project Runway
How will things play out for Bret and his third Rock of Love? Bret is certainly hoping the third time will be the charm, but only time will tell.
