Doors have always been left open for Natalia Livingston ever since she left General Hospital in May.  Best known for playing Emily Quartermaine, adoptive daughter of supercouple Alan and Monica Quartermaine, the 32-year-old actress was killed off in November 2007 but remained with the ABC soap as the character continued for six more months as a hallucination brought on by a tumor in Nikolas’ brain.

Soon, Livingston will be gracing the streets of Port Charles.  But don’t expect Emily to miraculously rise from the dead or resurface as yet another hallucination.  According to ABC, Livingston will be taking on a new character when she rejoins the cast of General Hospital in January 2009.

The “juicy” details regarding Livingston’s return are being kept under wraps at the moment. However, a show insider hints that her new character, Rebecca, is a seductress and might be a heretofore-unseen sister of the late Emily.  Who is she and why is she coming to town?  Fans will just have to stay tuned when Livingston returns on January 12.

Livingston’s other credits include Big Fat Liar, Hired Help, Pop Star and West of Brooklyn.  After her stint on General Hospital, in which she earned a 2005 Daytime Emmy win in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category, Livingston joined the cast of Rough Hustle, a drama film starring Matt Bushell, Joe Estevez, and Dean Haglund, just to name a few.  She has also been tapped to star in Fight or Flight, an action thriller where she serves as co-producer.  The movie is expected to hit theaters on April 1, 2009 with Judd Nelson, Jeremy London, Robert Carradine and Tamera Mowry.

Aside from Livingston, Senta Moses will also be joining General Hospital beginning January 2.  The 35-year-old actress is perhaps best known for her role Delia Fisher in the television series My So-Called Life and as Phoebe in Beakman’s World.
