Actress Amy Locane, who portrayed the character Sandy on the original Melrose Place, has reportedly been arrested for a “second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault by auto” last Sunday in Montgomery, N.J. According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, she was involved in a fatal collision that killed a female passenger in the other car.

Court papers say that Locane was then driving a 2007 Chevy Tahoe north on Cherry Hill Road. A little while later, she hit the side of a 2010 Mercury Milan that was turning into a driveway.

When authorities arrived at the scene, victim Helene Seeman was pronounced dead. The driver, Fred Seeman, is in critical condition and was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick later that day.

Melrose Place star Amy Locane was supposedly inebriated during the accident. She confessed to having several glasses of wine earlier that evening. Also that day, she already got involved in a minor hit-and-run incident in Princeton, Somerset County.

Apparently, Locane rear-ended another vehicle at an intersection located several miles from the second collision. The driver of the car began to phone the cops, but the Melrose Place actress had already driven off.

She was soon followed by police officers and the driver, who announced that she had been “swerving and knocking down several mailboxes.” When they caught up with her during the second incident, they noticed her condition.

Authorities arrested Amy Locane upon smelling alcohol on her. They also noticed that her eyes were “bloodshot and glassy,” in addition to her speech being remarkably slurred. She was later transferred to University Medical Center for a blood test.
