After a cliffhanger that blew all of our minds, Lost fans have been anxiously waiting months for some small glimpse of the fourth season of the ABC series.  Today is the day we finally get a hint of what’s to come, as the season four trailer that is playing in U.S. theaters hit YouTube.  Read on to find out what’s included, and which character may be making an appearance from beyond the grave.

The overall tone of the clip is jarringly ominous.  Words flash quickly across the screen, Kate (Evangeline Lilly) looks up to the sky in horror, Hurley (Jorge Garcia) peers into a mysterious room, and Jack (Matthew Fox) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway) are both seen brandishing guns.  As we saw in the season 3 finale, it’s apparent that people are coming to the island and our castaways are in great danger.  It looks like there’s going to be a lot of action and horror when the “rescuers” finally arrive.

The most intriguing clip in the trailer is a shot of Charlie (Dominic Monaghan), dressed rather nicely and removing a pair of sunglasses.  Fans will recall that Charlie died in the season 3 finale, so we can only speculate as to why he’s showing up here.  My guess is that he’ll be featured in someone’s flashback, but like so many things about Lost, whose and why remains a mystery.

Click below to watch the trailer, and get ready to speculate madly for months until season four officially begins.
