This was a long scene. A very long scene. According to Jensen, it’s one of the longest, if not the longest, scene they’ve ever filmed. The fact that fans loved this episode so much is good news for Supernatural season 4, because with the decreased budget, there may be more dialogue scenes with Dean and Sam talking about their relationship, which is really what fans love the most, probably more than the cool special effects or the demons.
FUN FACT: Not only was this scene long, but it took a long time to film as well. For the brief time we were on stage watching, they shot this scene about four or five times from this one set-up, then had to rearrange the room to film it from the other side. By the time it was all said and done, this four-and-a-half page scene probably took around five or six hours to shoot.
