Update: Producer Brad Falchuk confirmed to E! Online that John Stamos is indeed joining the cast of Glee in a recurring role. “Not sure how many episodes yet,” he says.

We’re just hours away from the season 1 finale of Glee, but we already have a scoop on season two. According to Michael Ausiello at EW, John Stamos is in talks to join FOX’s song and dance smash hit.

While we know him best as Uncle Jesse from Full House and Dr. Tony Gates from ER, Stamos’ has also starred on Broadway, most recently in Bye Bye Birdie. So who will Uncle Jesse … err, Stamos, play? Supposedly he’ll be a dentist vying for the affection of one Miss Emma Pillsbury, who clearly is into guys with perfect hair.

Even though Glee‘s already done “Hairography,” we foresee an epic sing-off surrounding Mr. Shue’s and Stamos’ perfect coifs in the near future.

What do you think about this latest bit of Glee casting news?
