I Love New York’s Tiffany Pollard, also known as “New York,” opted to give the final gold chain to the dedicated Patrick “Tango” Hunter over the unpredictable bad boy, Kamal “Chance” Givens. During the season finale on Monday, after Tango accepted the outlandish gold chain, he got down on one knee and proposed to New York with a diamond ring. After a bit of faltering, she decided to say yes.

In a nerve-racking and emotional moment, Tango placed the engagement ring on the wrong finger. Pollard said after that, “I’ve never been married before. Can we just go over the rules of marriage?”

Pollard, a 25-year old native of Utica, New York, is known as an actress and as a reality television star. She studied at John F. Kennedy Middle School and attended Thomas R. Proctor High School. She first came into the spotlight with her inclusion on the reality program Flavor of Love, where she clashed with nearly everyone on the show at one point or another, and got rejected by the rapper Flavor Flav twice.

In October 2006, Pollard made public that she would be starring in her own dating reality show, I Love New York, which premiered on January 8, 2007. Having a similar structure with Flavor of Love, I Love New York featured twenty men as they competed for the heart of Pollard. On the final episode of I Love New York, Pollard decided to go for Tango.

As for her choice, it actually surprised her family especially her authoritative mother Sister Patterson as they all thought she would pick the wild and foul-mouthed Chance, which also reminded Pollard of her previous love Flavor Flav. In the end, they were pleased with Pollard’s decision.
