That’s not a typo right there.

But first off: what did you think of Hugh Laurie’s directorial debut on House? Some say the episode was way too slow-paced, while others opined “Lockdown” brought a lot of new insights to the other characters.

Laurie himself called the episode “unusual” and “a slightly expanded version of a stuck-in-an-elevator story.” However, he still relished the fringe benefits of going behind the camera for the first time. “I was able to wear my own clothes instead of House’s. I could actually carry a wallet, keys and a phone and have real money so I could buy a sandwich.”

With the May 17 season finale all but a month away, Laurie talked about how he’d want House to say goodbye when the time comes, hopefully not in the next one or two years. Or ten.

“It would be good to have sort of a clean finish rather than just sort trailing off,” he tells Parade.com. “I’d like to go out with a bang, not a whimper.”

And while House the character seems far from being the perfect guy, Laurie insists that he’s “pursuing something … noble. He is pursuing the truth – scientific truth and emotional truth.”

Peter Jacobson for his part had promised that the finale will be “dramatic and traumatic for all involved.”

That just might include the folks at Canon, who ought to be delighted with the news that the entire finale was filmed using the Canon 5D Mk II – a stills camera. House director Greg Yaitanes explains that the device allows a “shallow focus” that “pulls the actors’ faces to the foreground,” not to mention the ease of using it in tight spaces.

But let’s go back to show. EW has reported, finally, that the House finale will “raise some big questions about a certain character’s future on the show.” Can this in any way be related to the big proposal (unknown participants) on the finale?
