Bethany Joy Galeotti as Haley James

Haley James Scott of One Tree Hill is played by Bethany Joy Galeotti. Haley is the best friend of Lucas Scott, the older half-brother of Nathan Scott, the captain of the Ravens, Tree Hill High’s basketball team. When Lucas joined the Ravens, Nathan became threatened that the spotlight might be stolen from him. He then schemed to use Haley to destroy Lucas. Haley then made a deal with Nathan to tutor him, in exchange of him leaving Lucas alone. When Lucas found out about this, he got mad, but Haley refused to stop tutoring Nathan, as she made him a promise.

Haley and Nathan grew closer after Peyton dumped Nathan for Lucas. However, when she found out that Nathan only pursued her to get back at Lucas, she got mad. Nathan then assured her that he loved her, and he was not that same nasty person anymore.

Haley got approval from Nathan’s mother, Deb, but was disliked by his father, Dan. She then convinced Nathan to move into his own apartment, something he took heed of. The two fell deeper in love when Haley got a tattoo of Nathan’s jersey number on her lower back. Nathan wondered why she didn’t want to have sex with him yet, and she responded, saying that she wanted to lose her virginity after marriage. Shortly afterward, Nathan and Haley got married and soon slept together.

The next season brought more hardships on the young couple, as they discovered more things about each other they never knew before, such as Haley’s sister Taylor, being the one who took Nathan’s virginity. Moreover, their careers tore them apart when Nathan wanted to concentrate on his basketball and Haley took a chance at her musical career, thus leaving Nathan. The two got back together in season 3 when they renewed their marriage.

Season four brought a surprise to the couple when Haley revealed that she was pregnant. But because of the couple’s debt, she had to work at Karen’s Cafe and tutor Rachel in calculus. After a State Championship game, Nathan was about to be run over by a car, but Haley stepped in to save him. She underwent several operations, and to the couple’s relief, the baby was saved.
