The body of Andrew Koenig was found Thursday in Vancouver, British Colombia, according to CNN. During a news conference in Stanley Park today, his father, Star Trek actor Walter Koenig confirmed the news and told reporters that his son committed suicide.

“My son took his own life,” Walter Koenig said at a news conference in the park.
Koenig, the actor best known for playing Mike Seaver’s best friend on Growing Pains, had been missing since Valentine’s Day in Vancouver. A massive search for the 44-year-old actor was launched after he was reported missing after failing to board his flight back to the United States.
Before Koenig left for his trip to Vancouver, the Growing Pains star reportedly moved out of his apartment in California and sold some of his possessions. On February 16, Koenig parents received a letter from Andrew which had a “despondent tone,” prompting heartfelt pleas from family members and several friends.
