Taylor Kitsch may have left Friday Night Lights at the end of season 4, but take heart: it seems we’re getting someone who looks like him.

Entertainment Weekly
confirms that newcomer Grey Damon is joining the football drama’s fifth (and likely final) season as Hasting Ruckie, a laid-back basketball player who ends up joining the East Dillon Lions as a wide receiver.

And by laid-back, it seems, he really is laid back. The casting call described the character as someone who possesses a “dark, hippie, party-guy vibe” who “seems not to care too much,” which explains for the ladies going towards him.

Damon, whose previous television work included minor roles in 90210, Greek and Lincoln Heights, is expected to be one of several new actors joining the show as Kitsch, Zach Gilford and Jesse Plemons leave the show.

So, do you think Damon is a perfect fit? Will he fill the void Tim Riggins left behind? I think he won’t, but hey, better someone new than a complete carbon copy… although he does look like Tim.
