The third season of Gossip Girl has already started filming in New York but fans still have to endure several months of waiting before the teen drama returns in September. Luckily, I’ve stumbled upon these juicy updates that will hopefully ease the dry spell.

Warning: This article contains spoilers!!!

So far, we already know that the third season of Gossip Girl will feature some new faces that would stir more drama in the Upper East Side. Joanna Garcia, who is known for playing Megan Smith on Privileged, has booked a four-episode arc as Bree Buckley, a cheeky politically progressive, “slightly evil Miss America-type who hails from a conservative Southern family” who will serve as a love interest for Chace Crawford’s Nate Archibald. Then there’s Hilary Duff, who has also booked a multi-episode arc on Gossip Girl as a “Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience.”

But that’s not all. Fans can expect more hookups as early as the first couple of episodes.

“There will be a controversial hookup early on in season 3. And one of the participants of said controversial hookup will be Dan,” Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello revealed.

Aside from Dan, Vanessa will also be getting a more substantial plot this coming season.

“Yes, she’s getting her own storyline. A romance, in fact. With someone she met briefly at the end of last season,” Ausiello added.

Meanwhile, Taylor Momsen is hoping that her character Jenny, who was named the new Queen Bee in the season finale, will take a twisted turn for the new season.

“You know what, I hope she’s a bad queen bee!” she said. “I’m sure [the writers will] find a way to tie it all together.”
