With Thanksgiving now behind us, it’s time to look ahead and start counting down the days until Christmas. And what better way to put yourself in a festive mood than to have another Glee Christmas. Wait, what?

Yes, there will be a Christmas episode this season, despite the fact that it is actually springtime in the Glee universe right now. But the show is billing it as an “unaired” episode set in December of 2012. So I guess you could say that when we sit down to watch Glee on December 5, we’ll be treated to an alternate universe of sorts.

And as is tradition, there is another Christmas album coming out: Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album Volume 4, being released on December 3. It contains only six tracks, so I’m assuming all of them will be featured in “Previously Unaired Christmas,” unlike in past years when only a handful of the 10-12 tracks from the album were in the episode.

Check out the song list here and take a listen to each one in its entirely below: Gene Autry’s “Here Comes Santa Claus,” Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Harry Belafonte’s “Mary’s Little Boy Child,” Alvin and the Chipmunks’ “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late),” Diana Ross & the Supremes’ “Love Child” (which isn’t actually a holiday tune) and the classic carol “Away in a Manger.”

You’ll notice that there’s someone named Cody listed as one of singers on “The Chipmunk Song.” According to TVLine, this character is “an extremely handsome and charming manipulator.” It was initially described that he wouldn’t be singing, but that has obviously changed. He will be played by Bryce Johnson.

Speaking of which, “The Chipmunk Song” is sung just like the original, which means you’ll get to hear Rachel, Kurt and Santana with super high-pitched voices, which I can’t wait to see performed in the episode.

“Here Comes Santa Claus” — Rachel, Kurt & Santana

“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” — New Directions and Will

“Mary’s Little Boy Child” — Unique, Tina & Marley

“The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” — Rachel, Kurt, Santana & Cody

“Love Child” — Unique, Tina & Marley

“Away in a Manger” — New Directions, Rachel, Kurt & Santana

Which of these covers is your favorite? Do you find it hilarious that Rachel, Kurt and Santana have chipmunk voices? And why do you think a non-Christmas tune is featured in “Previously Unaired Christmas”?

Glee‘s fall finale airs December 5 at 9pm on FOX. When the show returns in 2014, it’s moving back to Tuesday nights beginning February 25 at 8pm.
