Holly Madison has crawled her way into the limelight, from being a Hooters girl to becoming one of the stars of The Girls Next Door, a reality series on E! that chronicles life inside the Playboy Mansion, as seen through the eyes of Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends.  But while she has already escalated her stance as Hefner’s number 1 girlfriend, the 27-year-old blondie has also elevated her position at the infamous Men’s magazine.

Back in April, Madison grabbed the chance to become a photo editor apprentice under the tutelage of Playboy’s west coast editor, Marilyn Grabowski in the episode of The Girls Next Doors entitled “My Bare Lady.”  She helped design and put together the girls’ 2007 The Girls Next Door calendar, and after months of training to learn some of the ins and outs of the business, she got promoted and is now working as Playboy magazine’s junior photo editor.

Despite not having an outstanding array of credentials, she has put forth great efforts in apprenticing and is quite familiar with Playboy pictorials, given that she has already worked on several occasions for the enterprise.

In 2003, Madison shot a pictorial for Cyber Girl of the Week, a feature of the Playboy website.  She also appeared on the cover and inside of the November 2005 issue of Playboy magazine, along with costars, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, as part of a special pictorial promoting The Girls Next Door.  Madison, together with the two girls, was featured once again in the September 2006 issue of Playboy.

According to Madison, she is looking forward to shake things up in her new capacity as junior photo editor.

“I think readers are sick of seeing the same cookie-cutter blondes,” Madison told Page Six.  “I’m looking for natural bodies.  I pay attention to what readers write in – and they do like to see diversity.”
