After a season that saw all its 23 episodes win their timeslot every week in terms of viewers, Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love-Hewitt attributes the pull of its protagonist Melinda Gordon in slightly different terms when it comes to men and women. The 30-year-old actress says the Ghost Whisperer which she plays appeals to genders in two ways.

“I have met a lot of men who love Melinda because she wears a lot of nighties and runs around in the dark! [While] women seem to be drawn to my character because her marriage is kind of perfect and great, and that’s what a lot of women dream of,” she said.

More than months before its fifth season kicks off, Ghost Whisperer is doing well ratings-wise, notably even on what is considered the Friday night death slot. Season 4 averaged 10.62 million viewers per episode, a 14 percent increase from its season 3 numbers.
