On Friday Night Lights—regardless of whether you’ve seen it earlier on DirecTV, or are just catching up now on NBC, like I am—we know Adrianne Palicki’s Tyra as one who’s made a few stumbly decisions, regarding her relationship (or whatever’s left of it) with Landry (Jesse Plemons), her entertaining Cash, and her decision to ditch college to follow him, which has left me willing to shake that television even more, as I’ve constantly mentioned during the episode previews.   That’s all I’ve got to say about the character, really.

And that paragraph was a terrible introduction to news that Palicki has suited herself up for a guest role in CSI: Miami.  Yup, it seems the actress—note, it’s Adrianne, not Tyra—will skip small-town Dillon for the sunshine beaches in Miami.  Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello reports that Palicki will appear in an episode to air in the later part of next month as Marissa, one of thirteen contestants in a competition a la The Bachelor.  (No, I don’t believe this guy will retract his proposal to the winner and commit to the runner-up, like what happened to the actual show earlier this month.)

As expected with most episodes of the CSI franchise, someone will be dead.  No, it’s not Marissa; rather, it’s one of the other contestants, vying for the romantic affections of whoever that bachelor is.  Ausiello was right when he described it as a more sinister—and quite literal—take on “elimination round.”  I’m guessing that Palicki’s character will be considered a suspect, or else the show taking a considerably big-name star as guest would not make much sense.   Ah, I hope she’s ready for Horatio’s (David Caruso) similarly sinister one-liners.

But that’s quite a long way away.   For now, she’s staying stuck on Dillon, and Friday Nights Lights, which returns to NBC from 9pm on Friday.
