I’ll admit that I was sad to see Andrew go home last night on The Fashion Show. I met him two weeks ago at a fashion show and you can’t help but be enamored with his quiet confidence. The wheels turned on him this week and he went from winning the challenge last week to being eliminated this week. So how does one go from the top to the bottom so quickly? I chatted with Andrew earlier today to get the scoop on his time on The Fashion Show.

Feel free to listen to the whole interview below:

Although Andrew was sent home this week because Isaac Mizrahi called him boring, most of the drama revolved around Andrew Christian and Daniella. Daniella, who led last week’s challenge, told the judges that most of Andrew’s design was her idea. Andrew so astutely pointed out that it’s “impossible to copy somebody’s design when they are the team captain so those allegations are totally false.” Christian makes a good point. Daniella was leading her entire group to make a cohesive collection for The Fashion Show, so of course she would have had specific ideas and requirements for each designer to follow.

The allegations continued, however, this week when the other contestants were constantly calling Andrew a copycat. He says they are “childish accusations” and is proud of the work he did. Despite being scapegoated, Christian claims the most surprising part of the competition was “the personal connections with the other designers.” He says a lot of it isn’t shown in the episodes, but he bonded with a lot of the other contestants.

When I asked him about Reco’s overconfidence, he just said, “That dress he did last night was phenomenal,” although his favorite design was Angel’s. Andrew didn’t seem to mind Reco’s confidence because he obviously has the talent to back his talk up.

Currently, Andrew Christian is working on releasing a small women’s line, his new men’s underwear line and a new men’s clothing line. Busy much? Andrew Christian’s newest line will be called “Black” and you’ve actually already seen a lot of the new garments. Andrew wore his own designs throughout his time on The Fashiion Show and pointed out he was one of the only designers that wore their own lines consistently.

Check back for more info on The Fashion Show and follow us on Twitter. Last night, Angel was following along our live tweets and I almost got myself into trouble. Also, we have a video coming up of Andrew Christian’s (the Panty-Christ) new underwear line. Stay tuned!
