Attention Real Housewives of New Jersey fans: THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Former cast member Danielle Staub is in talks to return as a cast member for season 5.

According to In Touch Weekly, Danielle has been working with Bravo for the last couple of weeks to negotiate her appearance.

“Bravo has offered Danielle a contract,” a show insider said. “Danielle is contemplating whether this will be full-time or part-time.”

After last season was full of piling on the hate for Teresa Giudice, it was no secret that Bravo was looking to shake up the cast.

“She will be filming several episodes,” another source confirmed. “The producers squeezed all the juice they could from the Giudices versus the Gorgas story line and had to think of a fresh outlet for the drama. Having her back on will ruffle a lot of feathers.”

Of course, changing up the cast would mean getting rid of a few current castmates as well. Radar Online is reporting that Bravo wants to keep Teresa because she is a fan favorite and because of the drama surrounding her husband, who may or may not be having an affair and is also facing jail time. Melissa Gorga and Jacqueline Laurita are rumored to be returning as well.

That means Caroline Manzo and Kathy Wakile would be the ones who won’t be appearing for another season. While Kathy’s omission makes sense since she hasn’t brought much of anything to the show, Caroline has been the central “matriarch” figure throughout all four seasons. If she is not returning for another season, it may be her own decision and not because she’s being fired.

In addition to Danielle coming back, Radar is also reporting that Kim D. will keep appearing in episodes. Also, three new housewives — Noelle Brescia, Gia Casey and Priscilla DiStasio, who are currently friends with Teresa — are being considered.
