Here’s something.  During Emmy night when William Petersen presented an award with Laurence Fishburne, Jorja Fox, who plays Sara Sidle on CSI before leaving last season, told Entertainment Weekly that she will be “in and out” of the hit CBS show on its ninth season.  Judging from the comments from our previous reports explaining her departure from CSI, a lot of fans won’t be happy with this news.  Most of them was not very fond of Sara, to put it mildly.

“I’ll be visiting a little bit,” the newly engaged Fox said.  “I’ll be in and out, and it’s kind of fun. I knew that might happen.  I didn’t know it was going to happen so soon, so it was a surprise.  It’s always a surprise, really, and it’s been really great.  It’s been great to be there.”

It has not been confirmed if Fox was referring to something different from the initial three-episode story arch she would do, starting from the season premiere “For Warrick.”

In addition, the actress hinted that her brief return to CSI will possibly tackle her ever weird relationship with Gil Grissom (Petersen), especially in light of the latter leaving the show mid-season.

“They either end up together or they don’t, and I don’t know either yet,” she said.  “We haven’t started that episode yet, and I really believe it’s gonna be one of those shows that, until it’s all shot, anything could happen.  I wouldn’t even be surprised–we never do more than one ending, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we did on this one.”

In other things, Fox had something to say about the virtual Emmy snub CSI got this year despite the show’s massive, world-wide popularity, plus naming someone she thought should’ve been rightfully nominated at the very lease.

“I’d like to think that we have the honor of being most popular, and so the world sort of spreads these honors around… I would have loved to see Billy get nominated this year.  I think he really deserves it after nine solid years of being the heart and soul of that show.  If anybody should take one home, I think he should.”
