How long has it been since we’ve had any Battlestar Galactica action?  If you said “Too Frakking long,” you’re the type of fan who might get a kick out this.  Not only was the first of the Razor flashbacks last week widely well received, despite its pedestrian plot, but in the meantime a couple of clips from the upcoming Battlestar Galactica movie, Razor, have made their way onto the internet and into the waiting eyeballs of expectant fans.   For your pleasure, the youtubes are offered below.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor is a prequel movie that features both the adventures of Admiral Cain in the wake of the first cyclon attack on Caprica, and the first mission of Commander Lee Adama as commander of the vessel following Cain’s death.

A lot of details can be found on the substance of the movie if you surf around enough.  For all that matters, quite a bit can be found about the upcoming fourth season of Galactica.  Fans are growing weary with the wait, and news outlets are feeding their need.

I have to admit, I don’t know what the source of these two clips is.  They seem a bit spoiler heavy to be something that Sci Fi channel would air, but that is not to say that the network is particularly well known for making the right decision all that often.  (Flash Gordon, anyone?)

The first clip is a great piece of exposition as to where the title comes from.  It also seems to broadcast the notion that Razor will be an intensely character driven chunk of the Galactica mythology.  A glimpse into the ugliness that one must wear when war means the survival of your species.

The second clip is a little more in media res, a chunk of the story revealing, amongst other things, the beginning of Pegasus 6’s stay onboard what would become her torture chamber.

The clips are a great glimpse into the motif of Razor, which seems to be an intense and ugly look at the less noble aspects of war, and the human motivation that drives us to them.  Can’t wait.
