We’re just a couple of episode into NCIS season 10 and so far, it’s been a great season. Well it looks like we’ve got even more to look forward to this season when a guest start makes an appearance later this fall.
Formerly the star of ER and currently on Dr. Who, actress Alex Kingston is set to join the CBS drama during November sweeps. Kingston will play a character named Miranda Pennebaker, described as a “woman of questionable morals,” series boss Gary Glasberg told TVLine.
“Gibbs needs her.”
About the character, Glasberg says that Pennebaker, “deals in everything from high end weapons sales to priceless gems. Her connections go all the way up the ladder of D.C. politics, and Gibbs needs her for this very disturbing, emotional case.”
So as a fan I have to wonder what kind of effect Pennebaker is going to have on Gibbs and his team. Glasberg said that Gibbs will need her for a very disturbing, emotional case and that description really has my imagination going wild. Since she’s described as someone with questionable morals, we have to ask ourselves, what could she possibly provide to Gibbs to help him with this case?
“You might even see her again.”
Looks like Kingston made quite an impression and may even come back for more episodes. Glasberg said: “I’m a huge fan of Alex’s and she embodies everything I hoped for from this character. Heck, you might even see her again.”
Okay so if Glasberg says she could be back, then we have to assume that Pennebaker is going to be a very important part of this episode. I’m thinking that they’re probably not going to give Gibbs a romantic interest this soon after Dr. Ryan (whose whereabouts we’re still not quite sure of at the moment). But NCIS definitely likes to deliver surprises sometimes so I suppose that it’s a possibility that she and Gibbs could have more than just a professional connection. With such little information to go on, I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens as the episode gets closer.
