Biography
Born on January 15, 1970, Shane McMahon is an executive and part-time professional wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He is the son of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and CEO Linda McMahon, as well as the brother of Stephanie McMahon. Shane is the Executive Vice President of Global Media, meaning he oversees International Television Distribution, Live Event bookings, Digital Media, Consumer products, and Publishing. He currently appears on the RAW brand as well.
In 1988, Shane graduated from Greenwich High School and later attended Roger Williams University where he studied Media and Marketing. Soon, he decided to transfer to Boston University and graduated in 1993. He then worked in WWE’s numerous divisions, such as television production, sales, marketing and international business development. This was followed by his assistance in creating the company’s Digital Media Department in 1998, which led to making WWF.com. In 2002, it was changed to WWE.com.
McMahon became a regular on-air character in 1998, offering support for his father in cameo roles. He later took on the part of being color commentator on WWE Heat, but this announcer stint ended soon and he became a regular on the show. He continued to appear in numerous storylines, mostly involving fights and screen arguments with his dad. Also, Shane McMahon is best known by his nicknames – Shane O’Mac and Shane O. He was awarded Rookie of the Year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 2001, but he refused the accolade. He was once again recognized, taking home the prize for PWI Feud of the Year, going against his own father.
As for his married life, Shane was wed to his high school sweetheart Marissa Mazzola on September 14, 1996. The couple has two sons: Declan James and Kenyon Jesse. Aside from his appearances on WWE, Shane McMahon has also been known to have a small role in the 2002 film, Rollerball.
