90210 is not going to be shy about playing up the nostalgia associated with the original.  Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty are back, with possibly other main cast members set to return.  It’s a smart move by The CW.  They need the original fans to return to the series, all the while bringing in a new generation of teenagers to witness the trials and travails of the students of Beverly Hills High.  Old fans will surely, then, be happy with the picture you are seeing right now.  Yes, folks, that is indeed the Peach Pit.

Reports from the set have confirmed that not only has The CW’s 90210 reincarnation been filming scenes at the Peach Pit, but old favorite Joe E. Tata will indeed reprise his role as Nat, the Peach Pit’s owner.  The above picture shows the Los Angeles restaurant Kokomo Cafe as the new setting for the Peach Pit.  E! Online has a set report that says that new 90210 stars Shanae Grimes, Jessica Stroup, Tristan Wilds and Joe E. Tata were all filming at the location.  Onlookers watched as they filmed scenes in the outside dining area.

If this is actually the case, that 90210 is filming exteriors at actual Beverly Hills locations, this may mean that the CW series will rely more on actual locations than the original series, which made extensive use of sets.

90210 is less than two weeks from its two-hour series premiere.  From here on out, you can expect the hype to build and build.  The CW may have made the right decision in not giving screeners out to TV critics.  People are going to watch 90210 regardless – there’s no reason to allow the slightest bit of negative buzz out into the open.  Even if the pilot is generally well-received, there will always be some haters out there.  This way, there will be some mystique surrounding the premiere.
