Articles for True Blood Season 2

True Blood started off with a bang, and a ton of new viewers last week, and thankfully, the second episode of the season continues with the unique blend of gore, drama, sex and comedy.  So wipe the blood from your recently dyed hair, because I want to do real bad things with you.Things get off to a disgusting start as True Blood picks up right where it left off, with Eric throwing AIDS Burger Man‘s severed arm onto Lafayette before dripping the fresh blood from his mouth.  True Blood is the only show that can make you vomit and laugh at the same time, because all Eric is concerned about is whether there‘s blood in his hair, since it will ruin Pam‘s dye job. Read more »
Vampires might be the sexiest supernatural creatures around, but onTrue Blood, it‘s the men with blood pumping through their veins thatget the ladies (and more than a few men) all hot and bothered.  Thesecond episode of the season gave both Ryan Kwanten and Mehcad Brooks achance to show off their flawless physiques, leading to the age-oldquestion: who has the better abs?  Read more »
Talk about lots of involvement for fans: a new method devised to measure "fan engagement" of popular television shows on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter has spoken up, and first on the list are a group of fangbangers and those against them.  Or whatever that means. The first ever TV Fandex index, created by fan site host Wetpaint, has seen HBO‘s True Blood top the entire thing, followed by NCIS, House, Weeds, and the recently-cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Read more »
I smell trouble.  No, really, I smell trouble.  Not blood.Or maybe I do smell blood, considering what True Blood star Stephen Moyer said in an interview with Marie Claire magazine.  And, knowing where this goes, well, it‘ll start some sort of feud between True Blood fans and Twilight fans.Yep, Edward Cullen fans, I‘m looking at you. Read more »
There‘s no denying that vampires are sexier than ever.  With True Blood season 2 going strong, the Twilight sequel New Moon on the horizon, and new shows like the CW‘s Vampire Diaries, it‘s a great time to be a vampire, and as all women know, there‘s nothing more alluring than an undead man.Everyhot vampire leaves normal girls filled with passion, and now you canfind out which vampire really gets your motor running with BuddyTV‘snewest personality quiz, Who is Your Vampire Soulmate? Read more »
With the third episode of the season, True Blood continues to be the most disgusting show on TV with the help of a new beast that causes some major damage on Sookie‘s back.  There‘s also the return of Maryann‘s pig and a new and rather unexpected romance.  Picking up where we left off, Bill glamors Jessica‘s family to make them forget all about the drama, allowing Bill, Sookie and Jessica to drive home.  Bill and Sookie get into the expected fight about what she was doing, and despite their claims that they don‘t want to be one of "those" couples, they totally are.  Sookie throws a hissy fit and chooses to walk home to Bon Temps, which is one of those idiotic horror movie decisions like investigating a noise or being the black guy. Read more »
Season 2 of True Blood is full of new characters and new romances. Some relationships like the one between Bill and Sookie are evolvingwhile others are starting out fresh, like Hoyt and Jessica‘s unexpectedfang-sucking session on the couch,But where will these relationships go?  Last season proved quitetraumatic, with Jason‘s girlfriend dying and Arlene‘s fiancé being theserial killer.  Let‘s examine six of the primary relationships and tryto predict where they will go this season.  Read more »
And only because I know some people who gawk at the idea of Anna Paquin naked. "Ohmeegosh, she‘s gone more nakeder than I thought!" Well, maybe for some it is the selling point of True Blood--it‘s a minority, but I can‘t blame them--so of course that question would be posed to Sookie herself."I feel fine [about the nude scenes]," she told AOL TV. "Although the way that people ask me about it all the time, I feel like maybe I should feel uptight about it. But I really don‘t ... I wouldn‘t do it if it was too much. Everyone‘s very respectful of the boundaries of whichever actor is doing stuff like that on the set. So, it‘s not cameras being thrown anywhere and anything can happen, you know? It‘s quite choreographed." Read more »
It wasn‘t particularly easy watching that crucial scene on last Sunday‘s True Blood.  You know, that bit when things really got going during Tara‘s birthday party.  People start shoving cake in their faces and punch each other while laughing--and then the very much expected sex--all while Maryann starts chanting those Greek terms again, and amidst all the gasping, she‘s transformed... to that monster that ripped Miss Jeanette‘s heart out.Sure, some of us had it coming, but you know that feeling of being drawn to something we very well knew (or felt) anyway?  Yeah.  So enough of those thought bubbles, then, for there are questions to ask.  Like, both Maryann and the heart-ripping monster are sinister in their own ways.  Or at least that‘s what they want us to think.  So is she a villain? Read more »
This week‘s episode of True Blood is all about finding your otherhalf.  Sam meets another shifter, Sookie continues to bother anothertelepath, Jason finally gets some loving this season, and there areplenty of new vampires around, including Eric‘s maker. This last one is the best, because it gives us a chance to see Eric theViking.  And oh yeah, Tara and the residents of Bon Temps do somestuff, but right now, the romantic pairings at Merlotte‘s are of verylittle value to the show.  Read more »
The Saturday and Sunday Comic-Con schedules were released over the weekend. I thought things would get really good on Saturday, but the list is less than impressive. I suppose with four full days of Comic-Con, you can spread out the really big panels. Once again, below is a list of our picks for the day. Check it out and if you see anything missing, check the full list here. One thing I‘m curious about is the Chuck panel. Why is it at 10am? Doesn‘t Chuck deserve one of the better time slots? Wouldn‘t NBC push for a better panel time? Chuck already had some struggles last season, but this season promises to kick-ass and the new kung fu twist is perfect for the Comic-Con fans. I stand perplexed. Either way, it looks like I‘ll be spending my morning with a donut, cup of coffee and my favorite show Chuck.Check out our list of picks below. Check out the other schedules: Thursday Friday Sunday Read more »
Fans of the Sookie Stackhouse series as well as fans of the True Blood series were pleased to see both powerhouses on stage Saturday night. Charlaine Harris, writer of the Sookie Stackhouse novels joined Alan Ball, creator of the HBO hit True Blood joined forces to explain the upcoming adventures of Sookie, Bill, Eric, Tara, Sam, and Lafayette. One thing was made clear (SPOILER ALERT), the Bill, Sookie, and Eric love triangle will play out just as it is written in the novels. For those of you that haven‘t read the novels, that shouldn‘t spoil much. For those of you that have, you know what I mean. Fans were chomping at the bit to find out what would happen and that‘s a pretty clear indicator. Read more »
Yet again, HBO is leading the pack for having the most portrayals--and the most positive portrayals--of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LBGT) characters on their shows, according to a report from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or GLAAD.The organization‘s third Network Responsibility Index saw HBO score the highest rating and a "Good" grade, with 42% of its programming featuring LGBT characters.  The cable network is home to shows such as True Blood, Entourage and No. 1 Ladies‘ Detective Agency, all of which have prominent LGBT characters. Read more »
In case you‘re watching True Blood with an extraordinary sense of ignorance--and by that, I mean not having an idea how it arrived and what it‘s done since--and you haven‘t paid attention to the pretty good opening titles for the show, well, you probably don‘t know that the whole thing came from Charlaine Harris‘ book series.  But you probably know that, because two seasons in, you‘ve probably paid a bit more attention.Which means you probably know that series creator Alan Ball isn‘t sticking to the books.  If you‘ve read the books--or, even if you haven‘t, like me--you know that at this moment Lafayette is supposed to be dead; instead we see that woman who conned Tara and her mother.  Or, say, the entry of Sophie Leclerq into the whole picture, which isn‘t supposed to happen this early, at least according to the books.  Now that True Blood is more successful, arguably, than the books themselves, the question is, will be books adapt? Read more »
Sunday nights will get a little more consistent on HBO.The network has announced that they are renewing True Blood, Entourage and Hung for new seasons in 2010.  The announcement was made earlier by HBO‘s programming chief Michael Lombardo at the TCA press tour in Pasadena, CA. Read more »
Are you totally enthralled by True Blood season 2? So are we. Luckily, I was able to catch up with two of the main characters at the EW and SyFy Comic-Con party on Saturday night. Fresh out of their hugely successful panel, Sam Trammell and Michelle Forbes stopped in for a quick question or two. They don‘t give away much but some of the key points of the season finale slipped out. What‘s up with Sam and Daphne? Is Maryann truly evil? Will Sam and Maryann have an epic battle? Read more »
True Blood may have been ignored by the Emmys, earning nominations only for Outstanding Main Title Design, Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series and Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series, but at least the HBO series got the recognition it deserves from the Television Critics Association last weekend. The dark drama series about the co-existence of vampires and humans in a fictional small northern Louisiana town was named Outstanding New Program at the 25th annual event, which was held at The Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa on August 1. The Allan Ball-produced series consequently beat out FOX‘s Fringe, CBS‘ The Mentalist, Showtime‘s United States of Tara, and HBO‘s No. 1 Ladies‘ Detective Agency.  Read more »
It must be true love for Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, stars of the HBO hit series True Blood who are now engaged to be married. While no further details have been disclosed, reps for both actors have already confirmed the news to People. Paquin, 27, whose breakthrough performance was in the New Zealand film The Piano, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1994, making her the second youngest winner in history at the age of 11, plays telepathic Sookie Stackhouse on True Blood. On the other hand, Moyer, 39, who is credited for his appearances on The Starter Wife, Lilies, and NY-LON, portrays Sookie‘s bloodsucking love interest Bill Compton on the vampire series.  Read more »
Whenever there‘s some casting news for True Blood, fans immediately ponder on whether the new actor can pull off his or her character. And so far, creator Alan Ball has been successful in bringing in a brood of talents onboard, including Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica), Michelle Forbes (Maryann) and Allan Hyde (Godric) ---all of whom have made the vampire series even more worth watching. But there‘s another newbie heading to Bon Temps this season and she comes in the form of Evan Rachel Wood. Read more »
Lindsey Haun, singer and the former lead vocalist of hard rock band 7th Fall, has just landed herself a new TV gig. She‘s set to join the cast of True Blood for at least three episodes this season and will appear as Sookie‘s cousin Hadley. At this point, there is no word yet on why cousin Hadley is being brought into the picture. But according to Haun, she‘s also filmed scenes with Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, and Evan Rachel Wood so her debut on the HBO vampire series must be quite intriguing.   Read more »
We‘re left with only two episodes before True Blood concludes its second season and I‘m sure these last two installments are going to be jam-packed with action and suspense that‘s enough to keep us intrigued for season 3. The anticipation isn‘t easy now that the show has reached its climax and all that‘s left for us fans to do is to wonder: How the hell can we stop a maenad like Maryann? I don‘t have the straight answers and the cast of True Blood is surely not giving any details away. But if you‘re really dying to find out, here are some clues (and spoilers) to ease the wait. Warning: Spoilers ahead!!! Read more »
Remember Ed Quinn? He recently played trigger-happy Dallas vamp Stan Davis on the second season of HBO‘s True Blood where was killed in the explosion that Luke sets off at Godric‘s residence. The Emmys are getting a viral, user-generated component this year asCBS is teaming up with Vaseline to sponsor "Breakthrough Performance ofthe Year," a category which allows viewers to vote for their favoriteTV moments of the year, with the top three and winner being revealed onthe primetime Emmy Awards telecast Sunday, September 20 on CBS.The number of things that are unbelievably stupid and wrong with thisdecision is astounding.  Even if you don‘t like the Emmys, you have toadmit that this decision is actively killing what little credibilitythe Emmys hoped to maintain. Read more »
No, this isn‘t some kind of spoiler to the fate of Mehcad Brooks‘ on True Blood but it does make you wonder if Eggs isn‘t sticking around for season 3, especially if you‘ve read my article earlier this week. Brooks, who has also appeared on the popular TV drama Desperate Housewives as Matthew Applewhite, is set to return to ABC as part of the cast of the network‘s midseason drama, The Deep End. This dramatic comedy follows four young new lawyers with different backgrounds who enter one of the most prestigious law firms in Los Angeles, Sterling Law.  Read more »
True Blood sure has a lot of mysteries to unravel, whether it‘s about vampires, shape shifters, maenads or whatever the hell Sookie is. But there‘s another mystery that came to my attention as I went through your comments in my article last week. BuddyTV reader Dogdogdog particularly caught my interest when she posted, "i got a question that will make you all think some more... how did the queen know about sookie and bill never mentioned her... and bill never ask the queen how did she know about her... its a set up i think...that queen and bill is plotting something."  Read more »
Bill, Sookie and Eric‘s love triangle may have stolen the spotlight on True Blood but there‘s another couple on the HBO vampire series that‘s far more refreshing to watch these days. If you‘re a fan of this show, you‘d know that I‘m referring to sweet good-hearted Hoyt and newborn bloodsucker Jessica. Apart from playing Jason‘s pal, Hoyt didn‘t leave me a big impression on the first season of True Blood so it came as a pleasant surprise when he got all caught up in the world of vampires in season 2. Heck not even his portrayer Jim Parrack expected Hoyt to have a juicy storyline for season 2. So with no background on the Charlaine Harris novels and no idea about how to proceed with Hoyt, Parrack kept his character mostly original. Read more »
Could there be something in the water on the set of True Blood because it looks like Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer aren‘t the only ones who have hooked up? Word on the street is that Alexander Skarsgard, who plays sexy hot vampire Eric Northman, and Evan Rachel Wood, who portrays Queen Sophie-Ann, are now an item. Unlike Perez Hilton, who first hinted on the couple alert and clearly detests the hook-up, I don‘t really have any strong feelings about Skarsgard and Wood getting together. But it‘s interesting to see how their off-screen romance will play out. Will they follow in the footsteps of Paquin and Moyer, who just recently got engaged? I doubt it. Read more »
This early, the Jim-Pam (John Krasinski-Jenna Fischer) Niagara Falls nuptial is being called one of the more heavily anticipated TV weddings in recent memory. The Office people would like us to believe, according to the initial spoilers at least, that the wedding will reportedly not include any of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton employees. But we know that‘s not going to happen.Yes, there have been photos of the wedding and the dress, but today, E! Online reports that True Blood anti-vampire Sarah Newlin will head from Louisiana to Niagara Falls to join the wedding entourage. Anna Camp, who in all fairness bears a striking resemblance to Fischer, will play Pam‘s sister Penny. After several seasons, we heard virtually nothing about the other Beesly, but for the resemblance alone, this casting is made of win. Read more »

True Blood has cast Tony winner Denis O‘Hare to fill the shoes of the King of Mississippi, marking the first casting news for the third season of the HBO series.Denis O‘Hare may not ring a bell for most of you but you‘ve probably seen the veteran actor on several occasions. He has appeared as a guest star on several episodes of Law & Order and its spin-offs, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He has also most notably appeared on 10 episodes of Brothers & Sisters, and graced movies such as 21 Grams, Garden State, Half Nelson, Milk and Charlie Wilson‘s War. Read more »
After watching 12 episodes of True Blood last season, we were left with several cliffhangers to chew on. But among all the puzzling questions, perhaps the most intriguing one is the mystery behind Bill‘s abduction. Who kidnapped Bill and why? That‘s all part of the appeal of True Blood‘s third season, which will probably kick off next fall around the same time it did this year. For now, I‘m toying with four possible suspects.Warning: This article may contain possible spoilers so proceed at your own risk. Read more »
We‘ve been hearing about a bunch of new characters coming on board for the third season of True Blood but so far, only Tony winner Denis O‘Hare has been cast to play Russell Edgington, the King of Mississippi. The second season of True Blood has repeatedly toyed with the idea of a Sookie-Eric hook-up, whether it‘s just in Sookie‘s dreams or in palpable hints insinuated by Eric himself.  This very premise has seemingly divided fans of the HBO vampire series--- with some rooting for Bill and Sookie, while others are hoping for a Sookie-Eric pairing. It‘s time to celebrate because the moment has come for True Blood to wrap up its second season. In Bon Temps, however, the Maryann has a particularly twisted brand of merriment. She‘s throwing a party alright but it‘s not the kind I want to be a part of. Nothing‘s changed in Bon Temps since Maryann, the devil-worshipping maenad, still has the town‘s residents in the palm of her hand. In fact, things have turned from bad to worse with Tara and Lafayette now under Maryann‘s spell while a giant egg sits on a large bed nest in Sookie‘s grandma‘s old room.  Read more »

In less than two weeks, True Blood will wrap up its second season, possibly leaving us with yet another cliffhanging mystery arc for season 3. But before we even go there, we first need to solve Bon Temps‘ main problem: Maenad Maryann! Based on Queen Sophie-Ann‘s revelation last week, maenads are stupid supernatural beings hoping to find the perfect vessel which will summon their God so that they can be ravished and devoured, literally. And the only way to beat Maryann is to attack her when she‘s in her "frenzied" mode.Obviously, taking down Maryann won‘t be easy. Tonight‘s episode of True Blood shifts its focus back on Bon Temps, a town that looks like it‘s been hit by a hurricane. But we all know that no tropical cyclone caused the big catastrophe. It‘s all about wicked Maryann and her endgame is about to unfold in the episode "New World in My View." But before anything else, let‘s recap: After the big explosion, Eric gets hurt and takes advantage of Sookie‘s good nature by convincing her to suck out the silver bullets (and his blood) from his body, much to the dismay of Bill, who reveals that Sookie will now find herself attracted to Eric sexually. Lafayette and Lettie Mae try to save their kin from Maryann‘s clutches but to no avail while Sam tries to set himself free and avoid Maryann by turning into a fly. On the other hand, Godric decides to take the fall for the PR mess and commits suicide by sunlight.  Read more »
True Blood has always offered something fascinating each week but I never thought the series could get any better by a long mile. Tonight‘s episode is extra special, in part, because it changes the playing field for the rest of the episodes of season 2. Watching gory vampires has always intrigued me but after seeing Godric on last week‘s episode of True Blood, this HBO series piqued my interest even more.  There‘s just something about an ancient vampire (over two thousand years old) who effortlessly projects power and wisdom behind such a youthful facade. At any rate, there‘s no denying that he‘s a big part of this season‘s storyline and that we‘ll be seeing more of him in the episodes to come, including tonight‘s installment called "Timebomb." Read more »
This week‘s episode of True Blood settled the Fellowship of theSun story arc, or at least it tried to.  Godric, the Gandhi ofvampires, was front and center with his message of hope and change, andthe relationships of three makers and their vampire offspring provedkey.  Oh, and True Blood finally came up with something even more disgusting than Bill and Sookie‘s dirt sex.  Read more »
What is it exactly that you want, Maryann?Oh, don‘t tell me, if ever you‘ve read the books.  Maybe it‘s taken too long, but I still don‘t have an idea what Maryann actually wants from Sam.  True Blood ended last week with a bull mask and a sword, and the only answer I can plausibly think of is that he‘ll have his head cut off.  But of course, that wouldn‘t happen.  Not to Sam, at least.  I‘m just waiting for their story to come full circle, and I can‘t wait for that time to come--all the hedonist tendencies are starting to creep me out.  Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of True Blood, a lot was lost.  In somecases, it was life.  In others, trust.  And for one lucky 28-year-oldsweet Bon Temps man, it was his virginity. At the Fellowship of the Sun, Sookie realized it was Hugo, Isabel‘scompanion, who was the traitor, which led Steve Newlin to interrogateJason.  A classic misunderstanding ensued because Jason thought he wasunder suspicion for banging the reverend‘s wife.  Read more »
I‘m going to complain again, sort of.  Am I the only one who found last week‘s episode of True Blood a little... slow?Maybe.  The episode before that threw so many punches.  Also, nothing pretty important happened last week, perhaps apart from Daphne revealing that she‘s a shifter much like Sam.  In Dallas, it‘s still the calm before the storm, which means Sookie hasn‘t done anything yet, and we only get to know about Eric‘s origins.  In Bon Temps, Tara‘s been doing the same things she‘s been doing all season--take two steps back.  So maybe, for my preview of tonight‘s episode, I shall enumerate the stuff that made me chuckle a bit last week. Read more »
True Blood starts its second half with a bang, or several.  Maryann hosts an orgy, Jason and Sarah Newlin take their relationship to the next level, Bill has dirty sex with someone other than Sookie, and the Lukenator lets us know that having gay vampire sex is the only sin God won‘t forgive.Eric enjoys a late night drink from a Fangbanger, but sucking the bloodof the willing just doesn‘t have the same thrill it used to have.  Hiscocktail is interrupted by the arrival of the mysterious woman from theend of the last episode, only she‘s not so mysterious.  She‘s Lorena, Bill‘s maker, who Eric called back into town to woo him awayfrom Sookie so Eric can have her all for his own. Read more »
And suddenly that two-week gap made sense.  After last week‘s True Blood finally went to air, I‘ve been reading quite a lot of reactions, all saying it‘s the best episode in the entire series so far, or something as lofty.  Makes sense, actually, considering that it laid itself out just right--the slow build towards Maryann‘s identity, or the climax (can‘t help it) between Tara and Eggs‘ relationship, or Jason‘s life within the Fellowship...But the booms were those scenes in Dallas.  Surely I‘m not alone in finding something endearing in that last scene, when Sookie realizes Jessica had room service--human room service--and later finds out that the person who sent that guy in can also read minds.  I haven‘t read the books, but I‘m figuring out Barry‘s entrance is quite crucial, and yet despite whatever significance it holds, it was nice when they kept it quirky.  It felt delicate, or something. Read more »
Hello again, True Blood folkies.  We were off over the Fourth of July holiday, which is a good thing since we get a break, but not exactly with the show in mind.  No new episode, sure, with HBO deciding to show the first three of the second season all over again, which I didn‘t watch because I figured I just watched the newest episode the week before.  And now that we‘re dealing with a new episode tonight, I‘m wondering what happened last week again.  What again?Oh, right.  Sookie gets attacked, Tara gets suspicious, Sam gets confused and Jason almost gets it. Read more »
This episode of True Blood is all about coincidences. Jason is called up to the big house, Daphne knows something, Maryann‘s true self is revealed, and Barry arrives. What is the real meaning behind all of these seemingly random events? Let‘s try to find out,  Read more »
There were a few interesting things on last week‘s True Blood, one of them being the fact that vampires actually cry blood.  Which looks painful, considering that Jessica‘s the one doing the crying.  But I think Sookie said something like "vampires are not supposed to cry" and then I realize it‘s because it could be easier for V-juice addicts to nab vampires and torture them.  Of course, I‘m kidding. And so we welcome ourselves to a full-on culture clash between oh-yeah-I-know-right teener Jessica, relative softie Sookie, and Civil War veteran Bill.  Okay, so it‘s not a culture clash, since the only thing I see different is the way they speak.  But what happened towards the end--when Jessica somehow decided to reunite with her human family before threatening her abusive dad, and all the drama that came after--just set up the fact that things will be very complicated, and not just because someone else joined the party.  Well, Jessica is still torn between her human impulses and her vampire impulses.  And Sookie can see one side.  And Bill can see the other (since it‘s been eons since he was human).  You get the idea. Read more »
Well, there you are, folks.  Lafayette is alive, bound, gagged--well, not really, so I take that back.  At least we now know why he‘s gone missing for all that time--and all those questions for the past few months about his fate, and whether Alan Ball will pull off another deviation from the original book series and keep a popular character.  And then we have those details about him getting entangled with foil-wearing Eric, and we‘ll all wonder how that will turn up.That aside, last week‘s True Blood was what I expected--a little underwhelming.  Well, save for that sex scene at the end, which I knew was coming, but not in that manner.  But anyway, I was telling folks that, well, we have eleven episodes to go and things should spike up soon.  Funny the details somehow hold up. Read more »
True Blood fans were hoping that episode 9 would put an end to Maryann‘s wicked schemes but it only paved the exit for yet another character. Godric, who‘s considered the oldest vampire in New World and who has only been around for four episodes, committed suicide by sunlight to atone for his sins. Clearly, there were "centuries of faith and love between" Godric and Eric, and it‘s unfortunate that we‘ve only seen a fraction of his so-called greatness. Read more »
After last week‘s emotionally driven episode, it was bracing to see True Blood return its focus on Bon Temps with so much vigor and action. I already had an idea that "New World in My View" would involve chaos, organs, kidneys, livers and some sort of goal, which Sam wittily describes as "Maryann wants to cut out my heart while a bunch of naked people watch," but I never expected to be on the edge of my seat while I laughed so hard in what appeared to be the funniest moment ever on True Blood. If you haven‘t seen the episode, then I suggest you watch it now. At any rate, here are the highlights: Read more »
In anticipation of the climactic final battle with maenad Maryann, I was overly excited about "Frenzy." The episode setup good groundwork for the finale, however, it didn‘t really live up to all the hype. It was also a bit of a let down seeing one scene jump to another without any major developments. On the other had, there were so many revelations in this installment alone, including Hoyt‘s sad backstory, Sookie‘s cousin, Eric lusting after teacup humans, and Sookie and Lafayette both admitting to being subconsciously obsessed with the Viking vamp. For those who have not seen the episode yet, don‘t go any further. But for those who have, read on and weigh in on the highlights.  Read more »
"What is with the egg? Did you lay it?" Sookie asked Maryann in last night‘s True Blood finale. It‘s the most odd and baffling mystery in the entire season but sadly all we got was an underwhelming answer: It‘s an ostrich egg that represents fertility! At least, it wasn‘t some kind of sci-fi alien-related explanation, right? Still, the season ender wasn‘t without the show‘s typical bizarre antics.  Read more »
