Sunday‘s brand new episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody opened with big news for Zack (Dylan Sprouse) – he‘s finished with Summer School! He decides to enter the working world, so that he can have his own spending money, like Cody (Cole Sprouse). But working for Arwin (Brian Stepanek) at the Tipton – and just "working" period – aren‘t exactly his cup of tea. Meanwhile, Maddie (Ashley Tisdale) is still working as a camp counselor, but her juvenile delinquent campers are using her to sell information on London (Brenda Song) to the tabloids for money. But London doesn‘t mind that much, since the secrets they reveal lead to her spending some quality time with the cute pool boy.Zack hears Cody talking to their mom Carey (Kim Rhodes) about some tennis shoes that he wants to buy that have a television screen on the toe. Zack says he wants a pair, too, so Carey tells him he should get a job like Cody now that he‘s done with school. Arwin mentions that he needs some help around the hotel, and Zack becomes his "left-hand" man. Unfortunately for Zack, the first task he has to help Arwin out with is cleaning out the main garbage disposal. A couple of pokes up the pipe with a long stick and both Zack and Arwin are covered in what looks like the same green stuff that Nickelodeon slimes stars with during the Nick awards. It was a big weekend for Disney Channel‘s Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. On both shows, the main stars make a wish on the same shooting star and get their wishes – with varying results.On Hannah Montana, Miley (Miley Cyrus) makes a wish to be "Hannah Montana" all of the time after a science project prevents her from going to a club with Jesse McCartney (starring as himself). She wakes up the next morning, her wish has come true and her life is much different. Dylan and Cole Sprouse have come a long way from their breakthrough role in the 1999 comedy film, Big Daddy.  Not only are they starring in the Disney original series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, they are also busy taking care of the other numerous projects, one of which is the recently launched book series, 47 R.O.N.I.N. The book series follows the adventures of two teenage twins, Tom and Mitch Hearn.  "My middle name is Thomas, and Mitchell is Cole‘s middle name, so there‘s a little secret right there," Dylan Sprouse explained to the Atlantic Journal-Constitution. Read more »

Zack and Cody find Arwin fighting back tears while fixing the elevator.  He tries to tell them what‘s wrong but the elevator doors keep opening and closing.  They figure out that his mom is getting married and moving out so now he doesn‘t have anyone to live with.  The twins offer to hang out with him but he‘s a 34-year-old man who just wants his mommy!Lance stops by to see London, who is so excited about their dinner date that night.  Lance, however, has other plans.  He breaks up with her because he doesn‘t see them having too much in common.  She tries to offer up reasons why they should stay together: she‘s rich and beautiful.  He just wants to stay friends and she responds by throwing things at him. Read more »

Episode Overview:  Everyone tries out for the school play, High School Musical.  Maddie is jealous and upset when London wins the role of Sharpay over her.Cody is planning on trying out for the school play and Maddie tells the group that they‘ll be doing High School Musical.  Maddie is hoping to get the role of Sharpay while Cody hopes for Troy.  Maddie says people are always telling her that she looks just like the girl who plays Sharpay!  Zack also ends up trying out for the show, after being sent to detention.  Making a guest appearance on the show is Ugly Betty‘s Mark Indelicato as Tony (or "Antonio" as he now wants to be called), Zack and Cody‘s ultra competitive, ultra theatrical classmate.  Cody‘s audition goes pretty well, Maddie sings "Bop To The Top" and the director says he doesn‘t see the connection between her and Sharpay.  London gives a ridiculous audition but Tony jumps in next.  He scores points with the director for singing from his unproduced musical that he found on the internet. Read more »

After years of waiting in the wings, Ashley Tisdale is getting her first starring role. The 22-year-old actress has been signed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) to star in a straight to DVD movie entitled Picture This. This past week, Jason Weiss, Vice President of MGM‘s DVD Premiere division made the announcement. "Ashley is clearly a huge talent and we couldn‘t be more excited to be working with her on this movie. Last Wednesday, September 19, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, stars of Disney‘s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, were at the Columbus Circle‘s Borders Store in New York, signing copies of the first two installments of their new book series, 47 R.O.N.I.N.  The books‘ protagonists are Tom and Mitch Hearn, twin brothers who become involved with a crime-fighting organization that dates back to feudalistic Japan. “My brother and I decided to do a book series because when we were really young we didn‘t do much reading chapter books-wise, and now we‘re regretting it and we read a lot now,” Cole Sprouse told The Early Show‘s Hannah Storm on the day of the book signing.  “I think the only real book that we‘ve read was probably Captain Underpants… it was fun to read and we want more books that are fun to read and have action in them but still kind of our brand of comedy.” Read more »

This past week, Ashley Tisdale‘s tour was in full swing when she made a stop in Milwaukee, WI at the Southridge Mall.  Fans began lining up more than twelve hours before the show began and over four thousand people turned out to see the Disney star sing.  That‘s more than double the amount that showed up at her show in Chicago.  She did not sing any songs from her hit television movie, High School Musical, but instead sang songs off her debut album.  Read more »

It has only been some months since Oak Films wrapped up production on the film A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper, but the film‘s stars, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, are already working on another big screen project. The Disney tween series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody is among those shows that have seen much success on the world wide web as it has on the small screen, which is why it is no surprise that writer and producer Danny Kallis, creator of the hit show, is protesting along with numerous industry writers and actors. The primary aim of the strike is to increase the residuals writers receive from DVD sales, as well as to get studios and networks to give proper compensation for sales made via new media, which include internet downloads, IPTV streaming, smart phone programming, straight-to-internet content, and other “on-demand” online distribution methods. Read more »
The latest movie of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse will reportedly be available on DVD come February 5, 2008.  Entitled A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper, the film is an adaptation of the Mark Twain classic where two boys of identical appearance but extremely opposite backgrounds switch places. At this time, not much is known about the DVD release.  The 1-disc-DVD has a running time of 92 minutes, and includes a special feature that chronicles the Sprouse Brothers and costar Kay Panabaker‘s “Life on the Set.”  Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, French, while audio tracks are only available in English and Spanish. Read more »

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody star Brenda Song has signed on to do a new film with House actress Lisa Edelstein.  The film, Special Delivery, will air on Lifetime Movie Network most likely in December. The movie centers on Maxine Carter (Edelstein), a bonded courier working in the Pacific Rim.  Her next assignment has nothing to do with transporting evidence or life-saving organs but for delivering Alice (Song), a bratty teenager who‘s making her way from China to the United States to be with her mother.  Upon reaching the U.S., Maxine realizes that a trap has been set up for the two of them, and becomes responsible for Alice‘s safety. Read more »

Dylan and Cole Sprouse aren’t just big television tween stars.  The twin brothers, most famously known now for their roles on Disney’s hit series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, are also busy exploring other industries beyond the small screen, one of which is the literary scene. In the Spring, the boys will be attending this year’s Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, which claims to be “the country’s largest celebration of the written word.”  The event will take place on Saturday, April 26, from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday, April 27, from 10am to 5pm at the UCLA Main Campus.  It is not known at this time on which day Dylan and Cole Sprouse will grace the event. Read more »

Last week, we reported that Snow Buddies had topped the DVD sales chart the previous week.  The straight-to-video Disney movie, a follow up to Air Buddies, featured the voice of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody‘s Dylan Sprouse.  On March 4, the Wilmington Memorial Library will have a special children‘s movie night screening of the movie at 6:30 in the evening.  The film showing will include free popcorn and lemonade. Child star manager, Josh Werkman, whose charges include Cole and Dylan Sprouse of the Disney Channel‘s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, has been convicted of child molestation.  Werkman pleaded no contest to the charges of misdemeanor child molestation and misdemeanor sale of alcoholic beverage to a minor. Aside from representing child stars and protégés, Josh Werkman is also the CEO of Merimark Entertainment.  The 33-year old child star representative and Merimark executive entered his plea of no contest on Friday in Ventura County Superior Court.  He is scheduled to receive his sentence on April 2. Read more »

A couple of weeks ago, Ashley Tisdale came back home to Los Angeles from New Zealand after concluding production for her new film entitled They Came From Upstairs, which is set to be released early next year.  That doesn‘t mean that her schedule is all freed up, as the Suite Life star still has a lot on her plate in the coming months. Next month, Disney’s Zack and Cody Martin will be leaving the Tipton Hotel and boarding the SS Tipton instead, a luxury cruise liner. The ship sails around the world, loaded with passengers and high school students who attend Seven Seas High. London is sent to the school because her father feels it’s her only chance to become a better student but she’ll be trading in her luxurious life for that of a common student. It will be a big adjustment when she ends up in a small room, sharing it with Bailey Grant (Debby Ryan), a country girl from Kansas. Ryan’s character will replace that of Ashley Tisdale’s, Maddie Fitzpatrick, who has been with the show since it first premiered in 2005. Earlier this year, Disney announced that they’re putting a fresh spin on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, which is set at the Tipton Hotel.  After a couple of years of adventures, the twins were sent to the SS Tipton, a luxury cruise liner in which the show will now be set. Tagged The Suite Life on Deck, the show will follow Zack and Cody along with London, who finds a new friend in Bailey Grant (Debby Ryan), a country girl from Kansas.  The character Bailey replaces Maddie Fitzpatrick as actress Ashley Tisdale left to pursue other acting gigs.The boys are also trading their indoor wardrobe for a more laid back look complete with longer bangs.  Cole Sprouse admitted, “Sometimes we notice people on the street who look like us.  Occasionally we see someone with the same hair.  I don‘t know if they took it from us, but they‘ve definitely got it.” Read more »
Disney‘s highly anticipated new series The Suite Life on Deck opened to much audience acclaim as it debuted on Astral Media‘s Family Channel.  It was broadcasted on the network as part of a special Thanksgiving Day marathon, and it attracted record ratings.  The Family Channel aired the first two episodes of the series back-to-back, and the viewers greeted the series with immense excitement.   Starring Dylan and Cole Sprouse, each episode of the sitcom beat out its previous record set last March 2008.  The ratings followed the successful 2008 broadcast season for Family Channel, which emerged as Canada‘s number one pay-and-specialty channel in the country.  Read more »

Following the successful pilot run of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody spin-off, The Suite Life on Deck, Disney has picked up the tween series for a 13-episode sophomore season.  The sequel series, which is set on a cruise ship with Zack and Cody Martin (Cole and Dylan Sprouse), and London Tipton (Brenda Song) attending a high school-at-sea program, while Mr. Moseby manages the ship, ranks as television‘s number 2 program among kids 6 to 11 and is number 3 among tweens.  It is also the number 3 scripted series across all basic cable in total viewers. Read more »

Life at sea seems to be sweeter for Dylan and Cole Sprouse.  After starring on the hit Disney show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, the twins have found themselves soaring in yet another series.  This time, it‘s The Suite Life on Deck, which features the brothers attending school on the S.S. Tipton ship.  At a glance, the boys, now at age 16, seem to have outgrown their tricks and antics during their days on the Tipton Hotel. We previously reported that the spin-off to The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, The Suite Life on Deck, opened to record numbers on the Family Channel last October and hasn‘t looked back since.  It did the same thing when it premiered on the Disney Channel to 5.7 million viewers.  The sequel, which follows brothers Zack and Cody Martin, now both 16 years of age, and hotel heiress London Tipton as they move to their new home The S.S. Tipton, was able to do something initially thought was impossible: outpace Hannah Montana.In other news, former The Suite Life of Zack and Cody mainstay and High School Musical regular Ashley Tisdale will make a highly anticipated return.  Tisdale, who played Maddie Fitzpatrick on the old series, will reprise her role as London‘s BFF with a guest spot.  The episode, called “Maddie on Deck,” will see 8-year-old Prince Jeffy of Linchtenstamp fall in love with Maddie and forces her to marry him.  To solve the predicament, Zack challenges the Prince to a joust, with Maddie as the ultimate prize.  The catch: if Maddie refuses the prince‘s request and Zack loses, she will be imprisoned and S.S. The nominees for the 2011 Kids Choice Awards were announced today, and every single one of the TV nominations (outside of reality) comes from a Disney or Nick show.Big Time Rush, iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place and The Suite Life on Deck all have multiple nominations, and if you don‘t know what any of those are, ask your niece or nephew.
