Articles for The Secret Life of the American Teenager Season 2

After her labor that lasted more than an episode on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Amy (Shailene Woodley) pushed with all her might, while Ricky (Darren Kagasoff) tried to come to terms with his feelings for what‘s happening.  He talked with Ben (Kenny Baumann) as they waited for Amy to deliver. The verdict: he didn‘t deserve to have a baby with someone ads nice as Amy.  And Henry (Allen Evangelista) and Alice (Amy Rider) officially got back together  judging from how they didn‘t want to part lips. As ABC Family‘s record-breaking series returns for its sophomore season tonight, Anne (Molly Ringwald) has to deal with the surprising news of her own pregnancy, while Amy tries to slowly adjust to motherhood, otherwise known as the life filled with having to wake up in the middle of the night to feed her baby and change the diaper.  Meanwhile, Grace (Megan Park) and Jack (Greg Finley) renew their relationship, and Ben struggles to find his place with Amy now that Ricky has positioned himself to take an active role in the life of the baby.  On top of everything, an "unexpected tragedy" is set to befall one of the teens, which will reportedly change everything. Read more »

Other than the pregnancy and death that will kick off The Secret Life of the American Teenager‘s sophomore season, star Ken Baumann tells TV Guide that some "very dramatic changes" will rage on the high-rating ABC Family series.  For starters, the 19-year-old who plays Ben Boykewich on the drama says he thinks people won‘t lose interest just because Amy (Shailene Woodley) has given birth."I think everybody has that small concern ...  [But] at the same time, life only gets a thousand times more complicated once you have the child.  Just reading the scripts, I think they‘ve gotten better since the first season so there will be a lot more drama and excitement." Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager - "What‘s Done is Done" - Grace (Megan Park) believes her actions (read: sex) are responsible for her father‘s death, and is understandably very guilty, while Ben (Kenny Baumann) searches for a place in Amy‘s (Shailene Woodley) life.On the ABC Family drama‘s sophomore season opener, we found out that with Amy no longer pregnant, someone on The Secret Life of the American Teenager should be sporting a baby bump in the next few months (or faster in the television universe) - Anne (Molly Ringwald), only we don‘t know who the father is, George of her boss David, who previously said that he‘s been neutered, but you can‘t really trust those things, can you. Read more »
The younger cast members of ABC Family‘s The Secret Life of the American Teenager recently appeared on Good Morning America on the occasion of the teen drama‘s sophomore season launch.  Predictably, they answered questions about the show‘s purportedly controversial theme, something that had been exhausted last season. Shailene Woodley, who plays teenage mother Amy Juergens on the show, said she does not feel awkward at all about the topics they cover on the show because they‘re realistic."It‘s so true to life," she told weatherman Sam Champion.  "I feel like in normal high schools, you know, these things do go on so I think that, you know, it opens conversations for adults and teenagers, and I think that‘s important."Spoilers ahead. Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager - "Par for the Course" - Ricky (Darren Kagasoff) tries to help Grace (Megan Park) after she withdraws from everyone. If we‘d recall, she had sex with her boyfriend Jack this season, something which coincided with her dad being killed in a plane crash. She was sort of blaming herself from what happened. She was even shown laying in bed crying, trying to apologize to her dead father. On the last episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Grace was already struggling with what happened. As we saw, Grace was inconsolable; even with Adrian going over to try to help her, she still refused to get out of bed. Elsewhere on that episode, Ben (Kenny Baumann) needed to come to terms with the part that he‘s going to play in Amy‘s (Shailene Woodley) new life. After giving birth, Amy had been very grumpy, until Ben kissed her. Only she told him she didn‘t want to have sex any time soon.  Read more »
From the first season of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, we got to know Adrian Lee - the supposedly slutty majorette whose flight attendant mom is always away and father she never saw when growing up. In an interview with The Deadbolt, Francia Raisa, the 20-year-old Latina who plays Adrian on the ABC Family drama, revealed that season 2 will bring some pretty drastic changes to her character plus the way she deals with the whole Amy (Shailene Woodley) having a baby issue."She gets more involved in Amy and Ricky‘s life and the baby‘s life, actually, because her and Ricky get a little more serious as far as their relationship," she says. "There‘s a conflict that goes on between Amy and Adrian, because Adrian is afraid that Amy is going to end up taking Ricky away because she is the mother of his baby. Then Amy is afraid that I‘m going to spend so much time with the baby that the baby will consider me a mother and not her. So there‘s just a lot of drama that goes on between all three of us and Amy and I just don‘t get along." Read more »
Now that the baby is out, The Secret Life of the American Teenager star Shailene Woodley says that working without the baby bump has been good, but what she enjoys more about filming the second season of the ABC Family drama is the twin stage babies that play her son."It‘s so adorable," Woodley tells Starpulse. "They look identical. They‘re actually incredible. They‘ve never screamed with me in scenes I‘ve done with them. But I was holding one of them once and he was staring up at the boom mike and waving to people behind the camera, paying attention to everything but the scene." Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager - "Ciao" - Amy‘s (Shailene Woodley) sister and father Ashley and George decide to help her out with her hectic schedule. Apparently, Amy is having trouble now that she has school and a baby to look after. Elsewhere, Ben (Kenny Baumann) makes plans for the summer.Outside her character, however, we previously reported that Woodley is having the time of her life filming with the two babies who act as her on-screen son. Read more »

On tonight‘s episode of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, a secret of Grace‘s (Megan Park) will be revealed, while Amy (Shailene Woodley) will try to find a way to tag along with Ben (Kenny Baumann) on his trip. She also starts learning Italian for Rome, while Ashley questions why she‘s bent on bringing baby John to Italy, reasoning that her nephew is too young to know what‘s going on around him anyway. Amy, meanwhile, says she wants her son to be "exposed" to other cultures as early as possible. In the end, she tells Ashley to go with Ben, her, and John to Italy to get away from everything. Ashley considers the idea and even asks her father George (Mark Derwin) to come along.Elsewhere, Adrian (Francia Raisa) and Ricky (Daren Kagasoff) are concerned about getting more privacy, so she talks to her mother about getting a new house. This, somehow, leads to a discussion of whether or not her mom was having sex with Reuben and if so, is she pregnant (which she denies). Read more »
It‘s been a while since John Schneider left Smallville--or, should I say, it‘s been a while since Jonathan Kent left us by dying of a heart attack?  He is returning to the CW, though, playing another one of those father roles--but Clark Kent ain‘t getting his adoptive dad back.  Someone else will.Schneider‘s joining the cast of another CW drama, 90210, and he‘s set to play Liam‘s stepdad from the second episode of the show‘s upcoming season.  You might know that Liam‘s not exactly chummy-chummy with his stepdad, who works as a plastic surgeon, sources told Zap2it. Read more »
Josie Bissett, who plays Grace‘s (Megan Park) mother Katherine on the Secret life of the American Teenager, revealed that she‘s glad her character is finally moving on with her life, after her husband died on the pilot of the second season of the ABC Family drama, and a "sexy young man" is helping her."People have seen that my husband on the show has passed away, so I‘ve been dealing with death. But miraculously, six months later, I‘m moving on to a sexy young man, played by Reid Scott, and he has been with us for about three episodes. I‘m glad they took Kathleen out of mourning and into something fun." Read more »

If Secret Life of the American Teenager star Ken Baumann were to be trusted, the dynamics between pregnant Anne (Molly Ringwald) and Amy (Shailene Woodley) will be "fun" as the sophomore season of the ABC Family drama unravels and the daughter will think that her mom is a hypocrite."As a sassy, post-pregnant teenage girl will naturally be toward the mom if she gets pregnant too, I think she‘s going to feel like a little bit of her thunder was stolen ... It will be interesting to watch.  It‘s certainly an ongoing fight and struggle between mom and daughter." Read more »
