In what seems like a near-whirlwind season, MTV‘s voyeuristic look into the cut-throat world of high school journalism comes to a close tonight.

MTV has just started airing two episodes of its new reality series, The Paper, and yet the network is already searching for potential participants to appear on its sophomore season.  Apart from looking for inquisitive young journalists who are willing to share their lives with the viewers, the network is also looking for a proud and dedicated school that‘s willing to open up their doors to the show‘s producers.

It‘s impossible for me to judge The Paper, MTV‘s latest pseudo-documentary series, with fresh eyes, as I‘m certain it‘s impossible for anyone to look at it objectively when they‘ve been there. I was on my high school newspaper. I was on my college newspaper. I‘ve been a writer, a section editor, and a Managing Editor, so like anyone who‘s been through the gauntlet of school newspapers, I get it.
