FOX released its 2011-2012 schedule today, and as expected, it‘s all about The X Factor. The new Simon Cowell-led singing competition featuring Paula Abdul (thus making it Idol 2.0) will continue to fill the same three-hour Wednesday/Thursday block currently held by American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.  Read more »
Fox has made an early decision about shows for its 2011-2012 season. Five existing shows -- dramas Human Target, The Chicago Code, and Lie to Me, and comedies Traffic Light and Breaking In -- will not be returning in the fall. Taking their place will be two new dramas, The Finder and Alcatraz, as well as two comedies, I Hate My Teenage Daughter and The New Girl. Read more »
There‘s been a lot of speculation about what exactly will happen at the beginning of Bones‘ seventh season. While the show has been officially renewed, star Emily Deschanel‘s pregnancy has made the Bones premiere date something of a question. The Finder follows the adventures of Walter Sherman, a private investigator capable of finding absolutely anything, despite being a little crazy (thanks to a brain injury suffered while in the military). I honestly didn‘t expect to like The Finder.I wanted to like the show, of course. It has an intriguing concept -- a former military man, now suffering from brain damage, is capable of finding absolutely anything -- and comes from Hart Hanson, the man who made the weirdness of Bones possible. As much as The Finder is starting to rub off on us, this week‘s episode is all about Hodgins, who‘s off baby duty. And he has major screen time! He‘s seeking Walter‘s services to find the "alien spacecraft" (his words) that was witnessed by astronauts as it collided with a satellite and crash-landed on Earth. Has Hodgins been getting enough sleep? (In actuality, the Jeffersonian lab has been shut down for a week because the coroner is on vacation -- right, and the federal government can‘t find another one? But I digress.) This week on The Finder, a mother and a daughter appeal for Walter‘s help in finding their husband/father. It‘s not finding the man that‘s interesting -- for viewers and Walter alike -- but a missing part of the voicemail: The man had been talking to someone else while leaving the message to his wife, and the voicemail caught only a part of it. Walter wants to find the rest of the conversation. The case isn‘t interesting by any means, but the characters make it worthwhile, especially as Leo comes to grips with his past.  Read more »

With Grimm‘s new season comes a new set of faces.  According to TV Guide, Brothers & Sisters actor John Pyper-Ferguson and The Finder‘s Maddie Hasson have landed guest roles on Grimm season 2.Pyper-Ferguson will play the role of Hayden Walker, a mean and nasty coyote-like creature called Wesen who manifests strong pack mentality and values loyalty very much. In Grimm, Hayden Walker desires to track down another Wesen Jarold (to be played by Mark Pellegrino) for humiliating his family as he mourns the death of his sister. Read more »
Michael Clarke Duncan, an Oscar nominee and a recent TV star of The Finder has died at the age of 54. Thanks to Twitter, reactions from Hollywood were swift and sad. A number of actors, producers and more who had worked with Duncan took to the social media site to express their grief. Read more »

Later this month FOX will premiere its new comedy, Ben and Kate, which follows the chaotic lives of a brother and sister. Before it airs here are some casting updates. According to Deadline, The Finder star Geoff Stults has landed a recurring role as single parent who happens to be Kate‘s (Dakota Johnson) love interest, a single mom trying to raise her daughter, Maddie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones). "Geoff is a tall hunk of man who makes me laugh," expresses Sharon Klein, 20th TV‘s head of casting. "He‘s the ultimate ‘man‘s man‘ and ‘ladies man.‘ He‘s a big TV star who proved he can anchor a show with his dry wit on The Finder".  Stults‘ first appearance is during Ben and Kate‘s Halloween episode, which is set to air on October 30. Read more »
