Not in a million years did I think Supernatural would answer as many questions as it did in this week‘s episode, "Family Matters." We found out what‘s wrong with Sam, what Samuel‘s plan is, who‘s pulling his strings, who brought Sam and Samuel back and what happened to Sam‘s soul. As for all my theories, it turns out I was completely wrong and overly ambitious.  Read more »

It is the considerable opinion of BuddyTV that the people should not be allowed to vote. This morning the 2011 People‘s Choice Award nominees were announced and the choices are less than inspired. Sure, like a broken clock, some of the choices show an impressive exhibition of taste (nominating Ian Somerhalder‘s highly entertaining performance on The Vampire Diaries), but mostly, it‘s an embarrassment. Read more »

This season alone, Supernatural has presented a lot of debatable issues which have ultimately divided fans and forced them to choose sides. Among the hot topics at present is the question of whether viewers prefer Sam with a soul, which means the funny old Sam we‘ve known since season 1, or soulless Sam, the cold and ruthless hunter with a carefree personality. To settle the debate, we asked our BuddyTV readers, as well as  fans on our Supernatural Insider page on Facebook, to sound off on the issue and here‘s what they think: Read more »
Oh mama, Supernatural is back! The first episode of 2011 felt like a season premiere, complete with a "Road So Far" montage set to Aerosmith‘s "Back in the Saddle." Known best by television fans as the mullet-sporting, PBR-drinking hunter Ash on Supernatural, Chad Lindberg is returning to television tonight. We already knew Sam did very bad things during the year he was hunting without a soul on Supernatural. But knowing it and seeing it are two completely different things. This week Sam does a lot of bad things in flashbacks, but one is probably the worst thing a Winchester has ever done.In this week‘s episode a mysterious text brings Sam and Dean to a town in Rhode Island where Sam and Samuel investigated a group of missing men one year ago. Now it‘s women going missing, and Sam his having a tough time being reminded of all the awful things he did without a soul.  Read more »
Last week‘s episode of Supernatural was deadly serious, revealing Sam‘s very dark past of murder and his brief and apparently temporary slip into remembering the fires of Hell. So naturally, it‘s time for an episode titled "Mannequin 3: The Reckoning."  Read more »

The "death" of Crowley, the demon who claimed to be the king of hell, has left Supernatural fans with tons of questions surrounding hell, primarily concerning its next ruler. While there are no clues yet as to what will happen next, I‘m guessing that Crowley‘s successor will be just as powerful (which means he will also have the ability to bring dead people back just like he did to Sam and Samuel) or maybe even more. To get the ball rolling, we asked our BuddyTV readers and Facebook fans who they think will be the next leader of hell. Here are some of the responses: Read more »
Before tonight I would‘ve called "All Dogs Go to Heaven" the worst episode of Supernatural season 6. But now we have a new winner (or loser). "Mannequin 3: The Reckoning" was an epic borefest with little comedy, an ordinary monster of the week and no real purpose. I think the moral was that sometimes life just sucks and you need to accept it. I feel the same way about this episode.  Read more »
The countdown to awesomeness has begun. This Friday brings "The French Mistake," the ultra-meta Supernatural episode where Sam and Dean get transported into a world where they are Jensen Ackles and something called a Jared Padalecki, stars of a TV show called Supernatural.  Read more »
Hola Mishamigos, I‘m back for another round of juicy spoilers and tidbits about this week‘s incredible Supernatural, "The French Mistake." The episode finds Sam and Dean transported to an alternate universe where they‘re Jared and Jensen, stars of a TV show called Supernatural.  Read more »
Whenever the subject of Dean having a chance at a normal life comes up, two names always seem to be attached: Lisa, the woman who appears to be the love of Dean‘s life, and Ben, the kid who reminds Dean of himself and the son he never had. When these two characters briefly resurfaced in "Mannequin 3: Reckoning," it was clear that both Ben and Lisa still wanted Dean in their lives but unlike Ben, Lisa was already trying to forget Dean and move on to the arms of someone else. Dean, on the other hand, didn‘t want Ben to end up like him so he had no choice but to leave. Did Dean do the right thing by leaving or was there a better way of handling the situation? Here‘s what our readers think: Read more »
This is the absolute best part of my job. I got an early look at this Friday‘s meta Supernatural episode, "The French Mistake," something I‘ve been looking forward to since I first heard about it, and I‘m here to tell you that it does not disappoint.  Read more »
It‘s all about the meta. This week Supernatural goes deep into the world of meta-fiction with "The French Mistake," an episode where Sam and Dean are sent to an alternate universe where they are Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, stars of Supernatural, a TV show in its sixth season. From that simple yet utterly complex premise, Supernatural takes full advantage by poking fun at itself, its stars, its producers, its creator and more. The result is pure perfection, an episode so rich and detailed that even the most eagle-eyed of die-hard fans might not catch every little detail the first time through. It‘s a love letter to the fans who care deeply about the show, the characters and also the team behind it. This is an episode for people who know that creator Eric Kripke stepped down as showrunner this season and that Sera Gamble took over.  Read more »
This week‘s meta-crazy Supernatural brought us many intense, hilarious and surprisingly deep plot points. Which is more important, fame or true heroism? What is the meaning of life in a world where we have nothing to believe in? Who can you trust when the very universe turns upside down? But, most importantly, what is Octocobra? Read more »
Prepare to see a whole new side of Bobby Singer, and I‘m not talking about the director who got shot on the last episode of Supernatural. This week‘s episode finds Bobby going into the field. And wearing a suit. That‘s right, gruff Bobby is all dressed up as he sets off to investigate a case all by himself, except he runs into Rufus on the scene. The result is the Supernatural equivalent of Grumpy Old Men, and I think I‘m going to like seeing Bobby and Rufus team up. As Rufus says, "It‘s not rocket surgery."  Read more »

Last week Supernatural shook out the sillies with a brilliant meta episode, but this week it‘s back to deadly serious matters, literally. I think this episode‘s title, "...And Then There Were None," refers to other Hunters, because three major recurring characters get killed off.  Read more »
Amidst all the quirky lines and comedic scenes that made us laugh out loud in "The French Mistake," Supernatural managed to shed light on one of the biggest story arcs this season: the civil war in heaven. Everything is pretty much vague at this point but at least we know three things: 1) Sam and Dean were sent to an alternate reality as part of Balthazar‘s plan to distract Raphael, 2) Balthazar and Castiel were in this plan together and 3) Castiel now has the missing weapons of heaven. With these things in mind, lots of questions surfaced. And luckily our readers and Facebook followers were more than willing to share their theories, thoughts and reactions. Read more »
Supernatural is on its last extended hiatus of the season, but when the show returns on April 15, the final six episodes of season 6 promise to be very exciting. Supernatural‘s big baddie this season comes in the form of Eve, the Mother of All monsters who appeared on earth about 10,000 years ago and has now escaped Purgatory. Harboring bitterness for what she perceives as God‘s abandonment of his children, she now aims to take over the world by creating monsters. In other words, "She‘s pissed, she‘s here, and it‘s going to be nothing but pain for you from here on in!" On the other hand, pain and suffering is nothing new to the hunters of Supernatural, let alone Sam and Dean, who have been through hell of a lot worst than battling some creepy little creature. Plus, you‘ve got to admit that Eve‘s plan is somewhat predictable. Here‘s what other Supernatural fans think: Read more »

Supernatural hiatus, or should I say "hellatus," is upon us again, but that doesn‘t mean we can‘t make the most of it. We asked our readers and Facebook followers for suggestions on how to survive without Sam and Dean until April 15 and here‘s what they came up with: Read more »
If there‘s one thing I‘ve learned on Supernatural, it‘s that the dead doesn‘t always stay dead. Though some characters don‘t come back to life, they can resurface on the canvas through flashbacks, time travel, and alternate reality or even as ghosts. There are also a handful who have been resurrected, like Sam, Bobby, Castiel and Dean, who has the distinction of being the most-killed character in the entire series. Given this premise, we asked our readers and Facebook followers which dead hunter they would like to bring back to help take down this season‘s big baddie, also known as the Mother of All. Here are the responses:  Read more »
Supernatural has one of the most rabid followings on TV nowadays -- a fan base so devoted they would probably do almost anything just to prove their loyalty to Sam, Dean or anything related to the series. After a brutal hiatus, Supernatural returns Friday, April 15 with a new episode all about Fate. Supernatural fights fate on a regular basis. The Winchester brothers have died and come back so many times that the concept of death has become meaningless. They‘ve stopped the apocalypse and countless other "inevitable" dangers. So it should come as no surprise that the personification of Fate kind of hates them.  Read more »
The only person more excited than Supernatural fans about this week‘s time-traveling old west episode is Dean Winchester. Supernatural loves doing very special episodes (TV parodies, black-and-white monster movie, etc), but this week the show goes to a classic: the Western. The reason behind Sam‘s resurrection has been one of the burgeoning mysteries of Supernatural season 6 and, though Crowley already admitted his part in pulling Soulless Sam from the cage that imprisoned Lucifer, fans just can‘t help but feel that there‘s something more to the story than meets the eye. Not surprisingly, it was revealed during the recent Jus in Bello Supernatural convention in Rome that the truth about who really brought back Sam from Lucifer‘s cage and the reason behind it will be exposed before the season comes to an end. In line with this premise, we asked our Facebook followers to share their best theories on who could have the best agenda (and power) to bring back Sam and here‘s what they came up with: Read more »
Supernatural season 6 has had a lot of old faces coming back, but this week‘s episode might bring one of the oldest back. This week the CW officially picked up Supernatural for season 7, ensuring that Sam and Dean fans won‘t have to scramble for a new addiction next year.We still need to end season 6 and resolve the big mysteries of the Mother of All and the war in Heaven, but those storylines will be addressed this season. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Bob Singer revealed that they‘re also planning a bit of a cliffhanger for the end of season 6 to segue into season 7, which he said will have the Winchesters playing the roles of Butch and Sundance, or the Wild Bunch. "It‘d be telling the story of the last of the cowboys, gone modern," he said.  Read more »
UPDATE: Supernatural renewed for season 7.7 Things I Want to See from Season 7>>Supernatural fans are eager to start the second half of season 6, but it‘s never too early to look to the future. Castiel has gradually taken center stage in the Heaven civil war plot and, not surprisingly, has gained the upper hand against Raphael by acquiring Heaven‘s weapons. What‘s shocking, though, is the fact that he has become even more mysterious and ambiguous than his usual self, causing many Supernatural fans to question his actions and motives. Apart from his unlikely alliance with Balthazar and the fact that he lied to Dean and Sam about why Balthazar tried to change history by preventing the Titanic from sinking, it has also been revealed by his ally Rachel that Castiel has a dirty little secret. We still don‘t know what that secret is since Rachel already died in Castiel‘s arms. Meanwhile, our readers and Facebook followers came up with very creative speculations on what Castiel is hiding. Here are some of the theories: Read more »
This year Supernatural is trying something different with its first ever two-hour season finale. Technically, the two hours are different episodes with different titles and authors (new showrunner Sera Gamble wrote the first hour, creator Eric Kripke wrote the second). For most of season 6, Supernatural fans like myself have assumed that the Mother of All Monsters, Eve, was the Big Bad, the primary villain Sam and Dean had to defeat. That‘s not true. She was just a distraction from the real Big Bads. Oh yes we have trouble my friends, right here on Supernatural. Trouble with a capital "T" and that rhymes with "C" and that stands for ... Crowley and Cas!  Read more »
Things took a turn for the worst on Supernatural as it was revealed that Castiel, everybody‘s favorite angel, has been secretly working with Crowley, the King of Hell. If the real world were a television show, last night‘s announcement of Osama bin Laden‘s death would be a season finale. After extensive time spent searching, fighting and emotionally-investing our way to defeat a foe, the work was done and the jubilation can commence. But, like a TV show guaranteed a new season, the finale is not the end. There‘s always another foe to fight. It‘s true on television, and it‘s true in real life. Read more »
All season on Supernatural, there‘s been something off about Castiel. We learned the truth at the end of "Mommy Dearest" when it was revealed that Cas is secretly working with Crowley, the King of Hell.  Read more »
There‘s a price to pay for being an awesome guest star on many of the coolest sci-fi and fantasy shows on television, and Mark Sheppard knows that price more than anyone. "I‘ve become a liar," he told BuddyTV.Indeed Sheppard, who has had roles on everything from Battlestar Galactica and Firefly to 24 and Medium, and who can currently be seen as Crowley, the King of Hell, on the CW‘s Supernatural, is an expert liar. When Crowley was seemingly killed back in December, he knew his character was still alive, but he had to lie to everyone he talked to about it. When I spoke to him, he wouldn‘t even tell me where he was or what he was eating because any clue to his whereabouts might tell fans what show he‘s currently working on, which could spoil a big surprise reveal.  Read more »
Tonight on Supernatural, all eyes are on Castiel as he tells his side of the story -- what caused his rift with Raphael and, more importantly, why is he secretly working with Crowley, the King of Hell. Hopefully "The Man Who Would Be King" will answer all of these burning questions. In the meantime, we asked our readers and Facebook followers how they feel about the unexpected alliance, and what they think will happen when Dean, who seems to be the only person who believes in Castiel, finds out about his dirty little secret. Here are some of the responses: Read more »
