This week on Pretty Little Liars, Aria and Emily take a trip down memory lane while Spencer and Hanna visit their respective sources in the pokey.  Both Spencer and Hanna go about trying to get information in uniquely Spencer and Hanna ways. Hanna tries to bribe Mona into talking with anger, bargaining and the final step to the stages of loss: makeover.  Read more »
In its bid to become the largest awards show that ever was or ever will be, the Teen Choice Awards have announced their second round of nominees. On the TV side of things, the new nominees include summer shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Teen Wolf, as well as stars like Joseph Morgan (The Vampire Diaries), Dianna Agron (Glee) and Shailene Woodley (The Secret Life of the American Teenager). Keep reading for all of the new nominations. Read more »
This week, Pretty Little Liars is full of more truth and untruths as the girls try to untangle the lie-spaghetti they‘ve been served up. "The truth is like a big bowl of spaghetti that‘s all tangled. Have you ever untangled spaghetti?" Hanna asks Caleb at one point in the episode. Leave it up to Hanna to make a pained metaphor using pasta. What is it with Hanna‘s family and their obsession with pasta? Their carbs are always filled with secrets, lies and stolen cash. Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Spencer‘s family proves to be more screwed up than we ever knew, Emily is haunted by the ghost of Maya‘s family, and Aria tries to take everyone‘s love lives in her tiny elfin hands and make everything better. Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Jenna tries to convince everyone she‘s totally normal by throwing a mad hatter party, Aria actually executes a pretty killer plan, and Emily continues her girlfriend curse by drugging Paige. Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Spencer and Jason go on a family bonding trip to track down murder evidence while Hanna and Emily set up a trap for ‘A.‘ Surprising exactly no one, this trap is not at all effective. When have their traps ever worked in finding ‘A‘? At least no one ended up swinging from a bell tower or, of all the humanity, with glass in their hair.   Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Hanna and Aria spend some quality time in an insane asylum with Mona getting all Da Vinci Code with her wordplay. I can‘t wait until we figure out how Mary Magdalene fits into all this. While half of our quartet of liars are hanging out in the creepiest asylum of all time, the rest of the girls are sabotaging relationships and aiding and abetting a felony. As usual, the liars have the weirdest social lives of all time.  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Aria finds out Mr. Fitz is actually Mr. Moneybags, Hanna fights to keep Mona whispering to dolls in Rosewood, and the liars finally break into Maya‘s website.  After last week‘s excellent yet terrifying horror movie of an episode, it was nice to get back on track with our liars. Read more »
Aria finds a picture of the strange symbol on Maya‘s wrist that Emily remembered seeing during her blacked out state. This symbol may have more meaning than the "liars" previously thought.Hanna Has to Take a Blood TestHanna now legally has to take a blood test to see if her blood matches the blood found at the murder scene of Alison.Seconds after talking with Caleb in school, Hanna gets a text from "A" telling her to meet without Caleb. So why then is Caleb showing up in his car telling Hanna he sent the text and he is "A"? Does this not make any sense to anyone else? Caleb had the opportunity to talk to Hanna at school, so why all the theatrics?Caleb wants to be back in Hanna‘s life and he is not asking for Hanna‘s permission. Caleb wants to help find "A" and he is determined to protect Hanna. What will Caleb think once he finds out Hanna kissed Wren?  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, all the girls go back into murder mystery mode except for Aria, who gets way too involved with her mom‘s love life. Hanna stabs herself trying to escape from a haunted house, because ‘A‘ is a ghost now, but Emily defeats the evil glass using a baseball bat. But this week Emily isn‘t just breaking glass, she‘s also breaking hearts. Especially when Paige sees her in a confused kiss with Maya‘s cousin Nate. And what‘s Spencer up to? Oh just having a delightful mental breakdown the only way she knows how -- by transforming into Catwoman. Spencer Hastings: honor student, knee sock aficionado, cat burglar. You‘ve got a lock to pick or a cell phone to steal or an obscure question about medicine for the blind, Spencer is your girl!  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Paige gets added to the top of the ‘A‘ suspect list as we learn more about our favorite drown-happy swimmer. Turns out before she was "love dunking" Emily in the pool, she was taking out some of her anger management issues on Alison. Not that Alison didn‘t deserve them. On Pretty Little Liars it‘s always a fairly safe bet that Ali has done something terrible to just about everyone in town. I legitimately feel like by the end of the series we‘re going to find out the whole town is ‘A‘ and they all murdered Alison. Emily isn‘t the only one in deep denial mode about her love life though. Ignoring the calls of sanity and the sensible advice of Spencer, Aria tracks down Ezra‘s high school girlfriend and gets a nasty surprise. Hanna wanders around all episode begging Jenna not to murder everyone. Meanwhile Spencer puts on her detective cap, fights some snakes, and steals evidence from Paige. Spencer is really putting all the rest of the liars to shame when it comes to actual mystery solving. Between the lock picking and the stealing I‘m starting to think Spencer is either a criminal mastermind or a secret CIA agent.  Read more »
The summer finale of Pretty Little Liars lived up to expectations as an action-packed thriller to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Paige was set up to be the next ‘A,‘ but of course that was too easy of an answer to actually be true. The scene opens with Hannah crying hysterically while Emily talks with the police who were asking if the "deceased" was a friend of hers... Who to Trust? Then we back up two days to find Paige receiving a mysterious text that she keeps a secret. Aria, Spencer, and Hannah are convinced she‘s guilty and therefore stop at nothing to protect Emily. It isn‘t until much later that we learn Paige was actually trying to keep Emily safe all along. ‘A‘ certainly played into everyone‘s emotions in this heart-gripping episode.  Read more »

Still reeling from last week‘s shocking Pretty Little Liars finale? Well the good news is that ABC Family is rolling out a series of webisodes leading up to the big Halloween extravaganza airing in October. So fans of the series won‘t be in withdrawal without their favorite liars and potential serial killers for long! Last week‘s episode showed a Halloween store full of creepy masks (hey, at least it wasn‘t creepy dolls?) and a voice ordering tickets to the Halloween train. If you live in a town where literally every single person seems like they probably have body parts stashed in the bushes, does ‘Halloween party train‘ really seem like the best idea?  Read more »

Today, you can watch a teaser to the Halloween special as well as get some more insight from the actor‘s perspective of joining the ‘A‘ Team.Warning! Caleb got shot, Hanna kissed Wren and it turns out Toby‘s part of the A Team -- how much more drama and how many more secrets can there be?At least another season‘s worth, as ABC Family renewed the hit show for its fourth go-around, specifically 24 one-hour episodes for mid-2013.The news comes just in time as Pretty Little Liars returns for one night from its explosive summer finale with a Halloween special Oct. 23, including a performance from Adam Lambert, which will air Oct. 23. The rest of Season 3 will air in January 2013. Read more »
We‘re just a few weeks away from the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special and the webisodes are starting to get more cryptic. This week‘s episode of Pretty Dirty Secrets only took us on a tour of Shana‘s phone. As far as the webisode series goes, it‘s far from the creepiest episode of the bunch. That would belong to last week‘s outing, when Lucas picked up his ticket from Creepy Baby Burlap. It‘s like your worst nightmare when you need to meet up with someone you bought concert tickets from online. This week we see Shana flipping through her phone in the Halloween store, where I assume she lives in the walls like the Phantom of the Opera. She leaves her phone on the counter and we get a peek inside. What do the clues mean?  Read more »
As we get closer to the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, the webisode series Pretty Dirty Secrets gets even creepier. This time that bit of scary comes courtesy of Rosewood‘s creepiest potato sack baby doll costume. There‘s so much that is weird about Rosewood, Pennsylvania. But it is especially weird that more than one person owns a Halloween costume that is basically just a weird baby doll face sewn onto a burlap sack.  Read more »
Another week closer to the October 23 Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, another new Pretty Dirty Secrets webisode to ponder. This time we‘re back in Rosewood‘s only Halloween store, meeting the only person who works in said store. Seriously, does that store have other employees? Anywhere? The Halloween store‘s sole employee is named Shana and she puts up with quite a bit of weird sexual harassment from Noel Kahn. I like Noel‘s commitment to being the resident creep-about-town. If there is a pretty girl not being weirded out Noel Kahn must sense it, like his own version of the Bat signal. Still, we learn a bit more about Shana in this week‘s webisode instead of just watching her lurk in the background:  Read more »
The Pretty Little Liars webisode series Pretty Dirty Secrets continues this week, allowing us to get in our weekly dose of weird Rosewood residents. Waiting until the Halloween special is just not fair, especially not after that shocking mid-season finale. This week the webisode is more mystery than substance and only prominently stars an answering machine. Still, if you‘re looking for spooky chills and/or information about a minor character‘s dry cleaning this is really the webisode for you.  Read more »
We‘re so close to the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special that you can practically feel your phone buzzing with all the missed A texts. Still, we have to wait a little while longer before we can see what sort of shenanigans transpire on the Halloween train. Trapping everyone in Rosewood in a small confined space; what could go wrong?!In the penultimate episode of the webisode series Pretty Dirty Secrets, we get a few hints as to Shana‘s identity and the wearer of the hoodie. We also get confirmation that Shana does, in fact, occasionally leave the Halloween store. I was getting a little scared that she just camped there 24/7 waiting for drama to happen. Pretty Little Liars picked up for season 4>>  Read more »
Well, we‘ve finally done it fellow liars. We‘re just one week away from the Pretty Little Liars Halloween special, in which someone is going to die on the Halloween train and that creepy burlap baby costume will give me nightmares into November. The final Pretty Dirty Secrets webisode episode doesn‘t give us much in the way of new information, but it does get us psyched for the Halloween train. Creepy hoodies, railway disasters, and Emily dressed as Barbarella. I‘m already counting down the days.  Read more »
This week on the All Hallow‘s Eve special of Pretty Little Liars, the ‘A‘ team tries to kill several of our favorite liars, someone ends up dead, and another body shows up on ice ... literally. At its spookiest, Pretty Little Liars will often find itself playing with common horror conventions. So as an element of ABC Family‘s 13 Nights of Halloween programming, Pretty Little Liars makes perfect sense. Certainly it‘s scarier than Hocus Pocus, although the girls probably have worse fashion sense than those 90‘s era witches. There are few shows better suited to put out a Halloween special, so its particularly fun to watch the series give in to all it‘s creepiest inclinations.Last year, the Halloween special took us back in time to see the start of Alison‘s feud with Jenna and her haunting by ‘A‘. This year the special takes place in the present, and the present is certainly creepy enough.  Read more »
The People‘s Choice Award nominations for 2013 have been revealed, and oddly enough, the People‘s Choices have very little in common with actual ratings.  Read more »
This should come as no surprise, but expect a healthy heaping of drama when Pretty Little Liars returns to finish out its third season on January 8. On a conference call with reporters, showrunner Marlene King assured us that all the characters and couples are in for a rocky road in the second half of season three.   Read more »
Gregg Sulkin‘s career has been pretty magical, and not just because he played a werewolf for two seasons on Wizards of Waverly Place. The London native has found big success in this country, especially in the realm of entertainment beloved by teen girls. Now he‘s appearing on ABC Family‘s hit murder mystery Pretty Little Liars as the younger brother of Aria‘s main squeeze Ezra Fitz. Last season we found out Ezra was a bit more complicated than we initially thought. He‘s got some baby mama drama and a wealthy family that‘s just a little bit nuts. That‘s where Wesley Fitzgerald, played by Sulkin, comes into the picture. Just like everyone in Rosewood, Wesley has some secrets we‘ll soon discover when Pretty Little Liars returns January 8.BuddyTV was lucky enough to speak with Sulkin about what we can expect from Wesley, playing that creepy Rosewood ambivalence, and what it‘s like reuniting for the Wizards movie. Read more »
The winter premiere of ABC Family‘s smash hit Pretty Little Liars is right around the corner. In Rosewood, when something is right around the corner it‘s probably because you‘re being stalked. But in this case, having our favorite liars back is cause for celebration!  Read more »
On the winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars, Mona makes her triumphant and psychotic return to Rosewood High, where there is absolutely no background checking when it comes to hiring creepy janitors. Meanwhile the show begins peeling away some of the layers of mystery around the ‘A‘ Team, including possibly learning the identity of another member of this murder-happy squad.  Read more »
Pretty Little Liars season 3 returned this week on Tuesday, January 8 on ABC Family. The cast, including Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell, Keegan Allen, as well as executive producers I. Marlene King and Oliver Goldstick spoke at TCA 2013 about what fans can expect in the rest of season 3.  Read more »
Remember the days when Byron Montgomery was only creepy because of adultery? Ever since Garrett confessed to seeing Bryon and Ali together the night of her death, Aria‘s dear old dad has seemed downright evil.  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Spencer finally finds out Toby has been on the ‘A‘ Team this whole time. It‘s heartbreaking and actress Troian Bellisario nails it just like you would expect. Poor Spencer, who is usually the first to suspect everyone, certainly didn‘t expect to get played like she did. "Tell me there‘s more to the story," she cries while pounding on Toby‘s door later that night. It‘s what many fans of the couple (affectionately called Spoby) were certainly hoping for. Maybe Toby was a double agent, using his abs for great justice and finding out intel on the inside? But that was always just a pipe dream. Just like we the audience couldn‘t initially accept kindhearted Toby as a hoodie-wearing creep about town, Spencer can‘t initially accept what she knows to be true.  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, the liars‘ relationships are tested while Spencer slowly goes insane and no one even notices until she brandishes a giant pair of scissors like a horror movie villain. I‘m not saying the girls are bad friends, but the general unwashed and unhinged look Spencer was sporting this whole episode seems like it should have been a tip off that something was wrong.  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Spencer continues to spiral down the rabbit hole, Aria wears an actual rabbit on her shirt for no real reason, and Dr. Sullivan works some hypno-voodoo on Emily. This hypno-psychobabble magic is initially to help Emily reframe her experience killing Nate, but turns into her worst nightmare when she falsely remembers killing Alison. Dr. Sullivan: Rosewood‘s worst and only psychiatrist strikes again!  Read more »
This season of Pretty Little Liars has certainly been heating up the cold winter months. While most of the girls have experienced some major setbacks in their love lives, things have been going pretty well for Hanna and Caleb. But for how much longer?  Read more »
This week on Pretty Little Liars, Spencer finally completely loses her mind and it‘s a glorious thing to behold. If you‘ve been enjoying the half vampire, half rage-monster Spencer has become since finding out about Toby, than this was unhinged Spencer at her very best.  Read more »
