The fifth season of NCIS premiered last Tuesday, and if Mark Harmon was being truthful when E! Online‘s Kristin cornered him during this year‘s Emmy awards, fans can expect a lot more of their questions answered as the series continues to progress. "Things are going very smoothly, and we just passed our 100th episode!  And if last year was the year of secrets, this year is the year of answers.  And that‘s good.  And that‘s not a tease—in parts of last year, there were a lot more questions than there were answers.  This year, some of those answers are going to get answered, and answered quickly,” Harmon told Kristin.  “I think the other part of it is that we‘ve done a good job with scripts and being prepared in advance, and that‘s helped everyone.  We‘ve gotten leaner and meaner and faster and stronger.” Read more »
I do not get it.  At all.  Nothing against CBS‘ Parade of Similar Procedurals Starring Vaguely Famous and Vaguely Attractive Middle-Aged Men, but where did NCIS come from?  It was the number two show on TV last night, barely losing out to House and somehow beating the Dancing with the Stars results show.  I don‘t want to slander NCIS in the least. I‘ve never watched it and it may just be the best TV show in the world.  However, I‘ve never met anyone who watches NCIS.  Where do these millions of viewers come from?   Somehow, last night‘s NCIS had a 19 percent gain in viewers from its season premiere, which is almost unheard of.  I‘ll leave it to smarter people than me to decipher such mysteries.  Read more »

NCIS, ladies and gentleman, your number one Tuesday night TV program.  That‘s right, NCIS had the most overall viewers of any TV series last night, much to the bemusement of everyone I‘ve ever met.  Literally, I don‘t even know what NCIS is about.   Can someone let me know?  I know it stars a silver-haired middle aged man who looks relatively swarthy.  I‘m guessing that at the beginning of the show, some crime is committed and that, after an investigation, the crime is solved.  NCIS.  I don‘t get it.  It beat Dancing with the Stars last night.  It didn‘t have House to compete with because of baseball, but still.  Color me baffled. Read more »
