FOX released its mid-season schedule today, and there are more big changes for American Idol. The show already has new judges and new rules, and now there are new days. The show is being pushed to Wednesdays and Thursdays, most likely to keep Glee safely where it is since the show is doing so well.

In many sitcoms, the humor comes from laughing at the characters. Theyre so stupid, so crazy or so offensive that we need to mock them. Every once in a while, however, a comedy arrives on television that allows us to laugh with the characters. Traffic Light is one such comedy, and its great.

The NBA finals game last night between the Heat and the Mavericks did not draw too much attention away from the premiere of Americas Got Talent, which beat the games ratings by a small margin.The Heat/Mavericks game had 13.9 million viewers, a respectable number (and up 22% versus last years Lakers/Celtics game). But Americas Got Talent swept the evening with 16.71 million viewers, up 17% versus last years season premiere. Fox has made an early decision about shows for its 2011-2012 season. Five existing shows -- dramas Human Target, The Chicago Code, and Lie to Me, and comedies Traffic Light and Breaking In -- will not be returning in the fall. Taking their place will be two new dramas, The Finder and Alcatraz, as well as two comedies, I Hate My Teenage Daughter and The New Girl.
