Articles for Mistresses Season 2

Mistresses is back for its sophomore season and already it looks like it‘s gonna be a hot one, my friends. Is there enough iced tea in the world to cool off these bodacious beauties down? I doubt it. When we last saw sweetly sexy Savi Davis (Alyssa Milano), her billowy sister Joss Carver (Jes Macallan), sultry Karen Kim (Yunjin Kim) and the exquisite April Malloy (Rochelle Aytes), we received so many shocks to the system that it‘s no surprise the entire landscape of the weekly hot drama has been turned on its side. Pregnant Savi almost lost her life in an accident. Joss quit her job and embarked upon a new career, Karen was nearly killed by her psycho ex-lover‘s wife and April had dumped Richard for the dream of non-dead ex-husband Paul. Read more »
It seems fears and weaknesses are the name of the game this week on Mistresses. Just two episodes into season two, and the women are right back into the game. Both Savi and Joss are having trouble navigating their new jobs, while Karen‘s past comes back to haunt her when she learns that Elizabeth Grey is up for parole. And April throws caution to the wind to enjoy herself with her new handsome stranger, but she worries it may not end well. Read more »
Mistresses‘ third episode of the second season, "Open House," affirms what we dedicated viewers already knew: This show is one big saucy, juicy, hot mess of delicious entertainment. In a very good way, am I right ladies? Hot damn.Within the confinements of a 60-minute time frame, we were dragged through numerous shocks to the system, a couple of ah hah moments and finally left with a great feel-good moment between April and Lucy. Yes, dragged. Why? Because we did not want that clock to advance. The saucy goodness went on and on and could have gone on another full hour and we would have been glued to the screen the whole time. That‘s good entertainment, folks. That‘s our Mistresses. Read more »
This week‘s Mistresses installment, "Friends With Benefits," exposed the tender underbellies of all four women. Karen faces her loneliness, Savi reveals a tragic life-altering secret to a new friend, April admits to a past she‘s ashamed of and Joss surprises herself by enjoying the blind date that never was. The ladies weren‘t the only ones getting vulnerable this week. April‘s Daniel wants to meet her friends and Dom admits his own need to go public to protect himself from the office hot tamale whom I‘ve decided to nick name Toni the Tigress from here forward.  Read more »
Last night‘s Mistresses ushered in the most surprising epiphany for our go-to girl, Savi Davis. She says she wants to have a baby! But who should be the father? She has several options and any one of them could do the trick, even if Harry needed a little medical intervention. It‘s time we weigh in about Savi‘s love choices, and this is the place to do it.ABC‘s Mistresses remains such an enjoyable romp that viewers hate it when the ten o‘clock hour every Monday night is over. Part of the delight in the series is the delicious men who steam up our screens as they make love, both literally and figuratively, to our four main characters. At this point Savi has three major men in her life: ex-husband Harry, legal colleague Dom, and Zack. It actually makes some kind of crazy sense that after the loss of her pregnancy Savi might have baby fever, but the timing really sucks right now. That aside, which Mistresses hottie could be her true soul mate who she should parent a child with? Read more »
One of the best lines of this week‘s Mistresses installment, "What Do You Really Want?" is delivered by hottie newcomer Brian Hallisay, who plays Ben Odell, Karen‘s latest lover. Ben‘s line was: "You can‘t help who you love." That comment halfway through the episode pretty much sums up the sentiments portrayed all around. This is Mistresses, after all. Thank god for Mistresses. I need my night of happy just as much as the next woman and this show hits on all the right cylinders. So what happened? Savi has an epiphany while spending time with her boy bestie and accidental cohort, the lovely Zack Kilmer (Jason Gerhardt). Karen has a steamy repeat performance with a lover she picks up at a hotel bar while pretending to be sutty "Rebecca." April flirts with becoming more acquainted with Samantha (Elaine Hendrix) and learns that there‘s more wonky going on in that marriage than just the philandering husband. And Joss, well, she‘s the only one who seems to have gotten something right in the love department this week. God bless Justin Hartley in his role as Scott Thompson. I just love that guy so much, I wanna bake him cookies. Read more »
Last night‘s Mistresses, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?,"  had a couple of surprises: Jacob was dating Karen‘s suicidal patient, Zack admits to having feelings for Savi, and Joss is moving in with Scott. The one that really got me though, was Daniel‘s revelation that he‘s married. Say what? Okay. Back up. Run that by me again. Sexy Smoldering is ... married?Holy adultrification, Batman. April just cannot get a break! Even sadder was April‘s heartbroken return to Daniel‘s apartment in the end with no intention of talking. What is happening? Well, the name of the show is Mistresses, not Girlfriends or Sex in the City. So, come on, we shouldn‘t be too surprised. However, of the four women, April seems to be the only one with a conscience, so her going back to him did surprise me. Did it surprise you? Read more »
This week‘s Mistresses episode, "Why Do Fools Fall In Love," has everyone down on their knees begging for forgiveness. It‘s a veritable bloodbath of contrition as several characters find themselves in some really nasty (awesome) situations that make for great (fantastic) entertainment. Others end up totally screwed ... and not in a good way. Let‘s discuss. We open slowly with Karen making a date with "tall drink of water" Jacob to cook him "dinner" at her place (food, then sex, or just sex). Don‘t let the slow start fool you. These two are the center of a jaw-dropping final scene. More on that in a moment. Read more »
After re-watching Mistresses episode "An Affair to Surrender", I have to admit I‘m enjoying it more. This whole Karen-Jacob-Anna love triangle is getting interesting though I hope we‘re not getting a rehash of the Sam-Elizabeth-Karen situation. I still reserve the right to favor alternative endings to this part of last night‘s drama, so let‘s talk about it then weigh in below with your own opinion.Jacob: Should He Stay or Should He Go? Read more »
What the hell happened in this week‘s Mistresses installment, people? Almost nothing. Almost. Joss‘ new job opportunity storyline was the most interesting. Hands down. The title, "An Affair to Surrender," showed great promise, but almost every storyline fell way short of my expectations. We got none of the hot hook-ups Mistresses is known for, no fabulous clothes to speak of (not even some of Scotts designer pumps) and ... did anyone even get a steamy and memorable closed-mouth kiss? *Yawn* Even the positive advancements -- Savi deciding to keep her house and Harry eschewing the land of the Vegemite sandwich to be a chef stateside again -- lacked the sultry or whiz-bang excitement we‘re used to with Mistresses. Read more »
Mistresses fans, there‘s good news and there‘s bad news. The good news? ABC has renewed it for season three, so there‘s going to be more of the summer‘s best guilty pleasure. The bad? Alyssa Milano won‘t be back. As Entertainment Weekly reported, Mistresses season 3 will consist of 13 episodes. So you can breathe easier now because all those cliffhangers from the end of season 2 will be resolved next summer.  Read more »
