In an effort to boost its post-Sopranos original series lineup, HBO is launching dark comedy and ticklishly titled Hung this summer, and this early on, the series has already garnered significant attention online.  The playfully titled comedy stars Thomas Jane (The Punisher) as Ray Drecker, a underpaid and depressed high school teacher and basketball coach who feels embittered after his wife of 20 years leaves him for her dermatologist.When a fire damages his rundown Detroit house, Ray‘s spirits are in an all-time low.  To make matters worse, his twin children who was living with him, leave to move in with their mom and her new husband.  Ray then finds himself attending a local self-help class whose central mantra is to identify a personal "winning tool" to market for financial success.  Ray has a eureka moment after he meets a fellow attendee and ex-flame Tanya.  Since then, he has vowed to use his greatest asset (refer to the title of the series if this is still unclear)to change his fortunes. Read more »

On tonight‘s episode of Hung - "Strange Friends or the Truth Is, You‘re Sexy" - Ray‘s (Thomas Jane) luck sinks further after the debacle involving Lenore (Rebecca Creskoff) when his nosy neighbor Howard Koontz accuses him of public indecency. On the other hand, his kids Damon (Charlie Saxton) and Darby (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) can‘t wait to go back to their dad since they can‘t stand Jessica‘s (Anne Heche) meddling. Sunday nights will get a little more consistent on HBO.The network has announced that they are renewing True Blood, Entourage and Hung for new seasons in 2010.  The announcement was made earlier by HBO‘s programming chief Michael Lombardo at the TCA press tour in Pasadena, CA. Read more »
Tomorrow morning the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will revealthis year‘s Golden Globe nominees, and you never know what to expect. The Golden Globes have been a lot more diverse than the Emmys,nominating people like Evangeline Lilly for Lost, Anna Paquin for True Blood, Lauren Graham for Gilmore Girls and Sarah Michelle Gellar for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  They‘ve also given the Best Drama award to Nip/Tuck and Party of Five.This year, there are a ton of new shows that have a good chance to be nominated alongside regulars like 30 Rock and Mad Men.  Here are some of the new faces and names you could see at this year‘s Golden Globes.  Read more »
