For the first time since the early 1990s movie and television actress Jada Pinkett Smith is set to return to the small screen for a medical series on TNT where she plays a nurse (hence the capitalized RN on the title).In Smith‘s own words, HawthoRNe is a "quirky" medical drama with some comic relief about nurse Christina Hawthorne, who is also the "compassionate and headstrong" nursing director at Richmond Trinity Hospital.  The nurses spend long days and nights on the hospital‘s front lines. Read more »
After the launch of Showtime‘s Nurse Jackie this week, it seems as if nurses are taking the limelight away from doctors for a change. Joining the throng is Jada Pinkett Smith, the star of TNT‘s HawthoRNe premiering tonight at 9pm.The medical drama featuring the wife of actor Will Smith revolves around Christina Hawthorne, the Chief Nursing Officer at Richmond Trinity Hospital, whom Pinkett Smith describes as "intense and all over the place" with a case of "God complex." Tomorrow morning the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will revealthis year‘s Golden Globe nominees, and you never know what to expect. The Golden Globes have been a lot more diverse than the Emmys,nominating people like Evangeline Lilly for Lost, Anna Paquin for True Blood, Lauren Graham for Gilmore Girls and Sarah Michelle Gellar for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  They‘ve also given the Best Drama award to Nip/Tuck and Party of Five.This year, there are a ton of new shows that have a good chance to be nominated alongside regulars like 30 Rock and Mad Men.  Here are some of the new faces and names you could see at this year‘s Golden Globes.  Read more »
