Tonight on the season premiere of Gossip Girl, our omniscient blogger gal welcomes us back with a quick recap of Season 2, and an even quicker update about the recent lives of our (least) favorite Upper East Siders: Chuck‘s in a bar picking up a blonde, but what about his girlfriend, Blair? Over in the Hamptons, jolly Jenny is openly enjoying the fruits of royalty with a ruffled Rufus, dubious Dan, and ever-unphased Eric, with Lily mysteriously away. Where could Mommy Dearest be? Meanwhile, Nate tied off his European adventure by nearly joining the mile-high club with an adorable auburn-haired heiress by the name of Bree Buckley--his family‘s rival, it turns out. And as for Serena? She‘s been scampering all over Europe, sending e-postcards home recounting her educational adventures... when, in reality, the only things she‘s been studying are the bottom of bottles and insides of Europe‘s most infamous bedrooms. Is S off the rails again, or is there a method to her tabloid-tracked madness?   Read more »
What did you think of the season premiere of Gossip Girl last night? For those of you who sat there thinking, "Enough with the post-summer polo, let‘s get to the co-ed craziness!" this next week‘s Gossip Girl offering should be right up your alley.Check out the promos for next Monday‘s ep, when Blair, Dan, Vanessa, and Georgina will all butt heads (and headbands) at NYU! It looks like an episode full of laughs, and a little less Serena silliness than last night‘s premiere, which means I, for one, am very excited, indeed! Read more »
Oh the games lovers play.On Gossip Girl, we  know from the get-go that if ever Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) officially became a couple, they won‘t be your run-of-the-mill movie-going couple. When they did, we were proven right. But seriously, this role-playing "game" that they tried to do is beyond experimentation. So they decided to shy away from the typical relationship stuff people do in an effort to avoid growing bored with each other. Unfortunately, this meant getting a third person, perhaps necessarily a girl, in the fray to keep things fresh.Don‘t forget to catch our Gossip Girl recap: Gossip Girl Season 3 Premiere Recap: Putting the Cart(er) Before the Whores Read more »
I really got ‘em good with that headline, huh? Or should I have gone with my second choice, "Gossip Hurl"? Either way, I think you get the idea. Before I risk lulling you into a nap with a long-winded recap about last night‘s Season 3 Premiere and the major events that took place (Oh wait! I wrote one of those for you last night. Check it out!) let‘s cut to the chase: Gossip Girl last night was pretty boring! No, really boring! So boring that only 1 brave BuddyTV user ventured into my recap comments section, and then, only to say this: Read more »

If you thought all Gossip Girl and America‘s Next Top Model had in common was their mutual network the CW and loves for pretty people... well, think again! Most hardcore Tyra and Gossip fans should know by now that Ms. Banks will be appearing on the college-bound drama as famous movie star Ursula (right), who works with Olivia (guest star Hilary Duff) on a film about Josephine Baker. (Below, check out a video of Tyra behind-the-scenes!)But Tyra‘s not the only America‘s Next Top Model star to appear this season on Gossip Girl! Even without the title at the top of the page, we all know whose freshman dorm shopping list would include items like "Anichini San Miguel throw" and Delonghi Esclusivo espresso and coffee maker." I don‘t even know what half of these words mean, specifically. But they all DO mean one thing: Blair‘s not going to sacrifice class just because she‘ll be using communal showers! From the Gossip Girl Blog: Read more »
Before the sophomore episode of Gossip Girl Season 3 airs tonight at 9 PM on the CW, be sure to orient yourself with these three more sneak peek videos (to add to the 2 clips we already saw), which illuminate more on the impending feud between Blair and Georgina, plus what Nate is up to (or, rather, into) during his first weekend at Columbia.PLUS: Another witty promo with new words for our Gossip Girl lexicon. You can be sure that plenty of "sexperimentation" awaits the cast this season... but hopefully not too much "Geor-gina"! Yuck! Read more »

A full recap is coming your way soon, but for now, check out my favorite moments and quotes from Gossip Girl season 3 episode 2, "The Freshmen," and tell me what you thought of the episode! As for me, where last week‘s "Reversals of Fortune" left me worried that this season Gossip Girl might be short on scandal, this week‘s "Freshmen" served up all the hilarity and back-stabbing I had been hoping for!  Read more »
It‘s college time in Gossip-land, and that means nothing remotely normal, as usual! While Blair puts on her "confidence headband," Dan grabs his "comfort bagel," and they both head to NYU. Serena is busy fake-packing her tube tops for Brown, but oops! She‘s not going to Brown, because that would mean filming in Rhode Island. Yeeeesh. So she got in, but now she‘s dropping out. Why didn‘t the Gossip Girl writers just get Serena into a college in NYC? I don‘t know, maybe they too deferred from their dream schools on the whim of becoming screenwriters, which explains why that sounds like a plausible and good idea to them, and also why sometimes this show makes no damn sense. So Blair threw a "fish party" but nobody wanted in, and then reserved the Monkey Bar but apparently free beer trumps Monkey Bar. She proudly proclaimed that nobody wanted greasy pizza and Vanessa‘s home movies when there‘s a sushi and sake party right in the other room plus wasabi facials but still no takers? What is this crazy universe that doesn‘t worship Blair Waldorf? It‘s called college.Don‘t forget to catch: Gossip GirlRecap: The Freshman 15 Reasons to Hate Serenas and Gossip Girl3.02 "The Freshmen": Best and Worst Quotes and Moments Read more »
Why are Chuck and Blair at Sotheby‘s, seemingly engaging each other in a bidding war? Check out four sneak peeks of next week‘s episode, "The Lost Boy," one of which answers that exact questions! And what‘s new with Nate and Bree? (If you care.) How about Serena and Carter? (We know you‘re just dying to know!) We‘ve got those answers, too.Get a little taste of "The Lost Boy" and its many romances, after the jump. PLUS: More curious to know what (and whom) the Gossip Girl stars are wearing? Or rather: Was Nate in this episode at all?My first question on last night‘s Gossip Girl offering: Why are almost all of Nate‘s (Chace Crawford) storylines disjointed from the rest of the cast? And why, even when he does appear in the episode, is he relegated to filler--almost tokenisms,--ust enough for him to stay in the credits? Don‘t blame it on Bree. Serena (Blake Lively) is also currently dating someone who is not within their "circle," but she remains pretty much in the center of everything.Don‘t forget to catch: Gossip Girl Recap: All‘s Fair in Love and Art Auctions and Gossip Girl 3.03 "The Lost Boy": Best and Worst Quotes and Moments Read more »
Tonight on Gossip Girl: It‘s a couples spree! Chuck and Blair are in a bit of a dry spell thanks to Chuck‘s newly found business ethic. Carter and Serena are officially "dating," which means walking aimlessly around together and kissing on street corners. Vanessa and Scott are heating up and really getting close, even though she still doesn‘t know his real name, why he came to New York, or that he isn‘t even a student. (Which begs the question: where, exactly, does Scott live? Is he in a fake dorm, too?) And then there‘s Dan and Georgina: putting a smelly sock on the door handle in an apt metaphor for the smelly mess they seem to think is a relationship, or at the very least, a "friends with benefits" situation. Blair walks in on a shirtless Dan and stoned Georgina (I assume. Because her eyes are half-closed and she‘s talking slowly. Not exactly symptoms of a raging libido.) about to bump uglies, and kicks Dan out into the hall, where he runs into Serena. And Vanessa. His two beards vow to taunt him endlessly for hooking up with Georgie. Vanessa is just thankful it‘s not Blair. Serena is just thankful it‘s not her shame they‘re discussing. For once.Read the Best and Worst Quotes of Gossip Girl 3.03, "The Lost Boy."  Read more »
Were you lost in ecstasy during tonight‘s Gossip Girl episode, "The Lost Boy," or were you (like Serena here) just simply... lost? As for me, I was a bit confused by... well, lots of things. But that doesn‘t mean tonight‘s episode didn‘t have its share of stellar quotes and Chair love!A full recap is coming your way soon, but for now, check out my favorite moments and quotes from Gossip Girl season 3 episode 3, "The Lost Boy," and tell me what you thought of the episode.  Read more »
Next week‘s Gossip Girl just might be the most outrageous episode of the series to date. Tyra Banks and Hilary Duff will guest star as famous actresses, one a high-strung diva and the other a jaded young actress who just wants to fit in at college. And the main event of the evening will be the movie premiere of their blockbuster Fleur, the movie-within-the-show set during World War II.Doesn‘t sound like the same show you‘re used to watching, now does it?After the jump, catch two clips from next Monday‘s episode. In one, we find a situation that‘s not exactly unfamiliar: Chuck inviting Jenny in on a scheme to bring Blair "back to reality." In the other, well... let‘s just say my fellow America‘s Next Top Model watchers should recognize that it doesn‘t matter what show Tyra is on: she does one thing well, and it‘s going over the top. Read more »
Finally, news of some Little J action in Gossip Girl‘s third season! Judging from Jenny‘s marked absence in the first three episodes thus far this fall, I was beginning to dread that Jenny (Taylor Momsen) had been demoted to a guest star herself. But no, and thank goodness! Reports have surfaced that later this season our new Queen will be getting some trouble from guest star Kevin Zegers, set to play "international bad-boy" Damien, and Jenny‘s love interest in a multi-episode arc. Read more »
Whether you‘re excited or worried about all the changes afoot on Gossip Girl, next week‘s episode, "Dan de Fleurette," is sure to be like no other we‘ve ever seen: Hilary Duff, Tyra Banks, Joanna Garcia and designer Tory Burch will ALL guest-star in the episode. Check out two interviews with the two high-profile stars of the evening: Hilary Duff, who will play young movie star Olivia in a 4-episode arc, and Tyra Banks, who plays the diva Ursula, set to appear just in Monday night‘s episode. Each actress goes into detail about her character and the show in Season 3.  Read more »

Sure, we have only hours to wait until tonight‘s star-studded Gossip Girl episode, but if we already have another clip from the episode... why should we wait? Before you watch Hilary Duff, Tyra Banks, and Tory Burch disrupt the status quo of your favorite Upper East Siders‘ existence tonight, be sure to also look at:The 5 other "Dan de Fleurette" clips we‘ve seenInterviews with Duff and Banks on the setSexy pictures of Ed Westwick in Area Homme MagazineThat last one has nothing to do with tonight‘s episode. Tonight on Gossip Girl: It‘s the guest-star-apolooza episode! Anyone out there who had the foresight and rare Monday night sense of whimsy to play a "drink every time you see a guest star" game while they watched should now be very drunk, indeed. If you also drank every time Lily talked sense at Serena while Serena pouted like a little baby about what a big girl she is, I doubt you‘re here, because you no longer have the brain cells necessary to read words.Anyhoo, here‘s what went down during "Dan de Fleurette," which is a fittingly feminine term for Lonely Boy, don‘t you think? To start us off, we got an almost full dose of Jenny and Eric. Finally! It‘s the first day at Constance, and Jenny is determined to usher in a new era of fairness and non-hierarchy.  Read more »
I‘m sure you‘re all split on whether this star-studded episode was crazy-awesome or just plain crazy, but I think we can all agree that it was extremely entertaining. And even the parts with Tyra Banks made me laugh, though probably not in the way the producers hoped. She should probably stick to her day job... which is still highly theatrical and nuts, anyway! Here are my favorite quotes and moments from this episode of Gossip Girl. On last night‘s episode of Gossip Girl, Blair (Leighton Meester) was back at Constance--not because she missed it, but because she can‘t quite figure out how to win over the non-sushi-loving NYU crowd. It‘s actually sad seeing her this way, but that‘s not the point. She decided to host the annual Waldorf sleepover for old times‘ sake, which had dutiful boyfriend Chuck (Ed Westwick) a little concerned. Let‘s face it, college and slumber parties just don‘t go well together.Chuck being Chuck, he devised a plan to take Blair out of her rut by escorting incumbent Queen Bee Jenny (Taylor Momsen) to the premiere of the Oscar-buzzing film (really now?) Fleur. How he figured out this math, only he knows. Of course, when Gossip Girl spills the dirt, Blair is furious--at Jenny. Let‘s just say they were not in good terms to begin with. But before she could do anything to her, the Mother Chucker revealed that he tricked her to make the point that she should not have given up on her new world, NYU. When Blair declares that it‘s over for her at her new school, Chuck was surprisingly offended because Blair thinks it‘s harder to win over a "a bunch of pseudo-intellectual homesick malcontents" than his royal highness Chuck.Don‘t forget to catch: Gossip Girl Recap: How Blair Got Her Brood Back and ‘Gossip Girl‘ 3.04 "Dan de Fleurette": Best and Worst Quotes and Moments Read more »
SEXY SPOILER AHEAD!EW‘s Michael Ausiello is reporting that a trust-worthy Gossip Girl insider told him exclusively today that three Gossip characters will be trying out a three-way tryst later this season.During the November 9 episode, Ausiello swears that "three major characters having sex. At the same time. In the same bed. Together."Who are the main players redefining the Gossip Girl version of a "love triangle"? The New York Daily News is reporting that fashion-forward (almost to the distant future forward) singer Lady Gaga is filming a scene on Gossip Girl today that is set to air sometime in Season 3."Even Upper East Side queen Blair Waldorf would deign to take the downtown 6 train if a Lady Gaga gig was the reward," says the Daily News today of the casting choice. Ehh, we don‘t know about that, but we do know that a performance by the Gaga (yes, she‘s performing, and yes, as herself) will do what we might not have deemed possible: spice up an already star-studding Gossip Girl season 3.Gaga joins the ranks of Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff, Tory Burch, Georgina Marchesa, Sonic Youth, and Gina Torres as another high-profile celeb to grace the Gossip screen this season. Read more »
Check out the promo for next Monday‘s episode of Gossip Girl, plus two web clips of the episode. In the first clip, Blair and Chuck discuss their friends‘ new relationships, and have different opinions about who is right for whom.In the second clip, Georgina enacts her evil plan to break up Olivia and Dan, using Vanessa as her puppet. As the BuddyTV writer for both America‘s Next Top Model and Gossip Girl this season, last night‘s Tyra crossover into the Upper East Side was particularly bizarre to me. It was one of those rare but unavoidable colliding of worlds that we all experience now and again. Like when your college friends meet your high school friends, or you see your 5th grade teacher at the mall. It‘s just not right, and yet... it adds a whole new dimension to your knowledge about the world, and sometimes even about yourself.Okay, I may have gone a little too far just now. I did NOT learn anything new about myself watching Tyra embarrass herself as "Ursula" on Gossip Girl. But I did learn something about her: it takes some real bravery to put yourself under the very sharp, very harsh lens of Gossip Girl critics and viewers, many of whom adore the show because they believe it reflects their holy, upper-crusty New York lifestyle.  Read more »
Season 3 of Gossip Girl so far has been even more focused on romantic pairings than ever before--with lots of new and familiar faces appearing as love interests on the show. Whether you‘re dreading or titillated by the potential of a major Gossip Girl character three-way boots-knocking session, admit it: you‘re at least a little bit curious about which three Upper East Siders are going to think "triple the pleasure, triple the fun" is the way to go!EW‘s spoiler guru Michael Ausiello already narrowed down the field to a rather long list of potential three-way match-ups, and now E! Online‘s Kristin Dos Santos is getting in on the guessing game. Can you use all their clues to figure out which three players will turn into playmates? I may not be a math guru, but I‘m pretty sure a little deductive reasoning should tell you who they are.Needless to say, spoilers ahead! And lots of dirty thoughts... Read more »

Oh, boy, did a LOT happen during tonight‘s Gossip Girl or what? It was like a whole month of a soap opera plot stuffed into one hour! Let‘s get right down to it.Gossip Girl warns us that "love is pain," which is a dark way to lead off the episode, but what do you expect from someone who spends all her time writing rumors on the internet? The traditional Nielsen ratings might say that shows like NCIS and Grey‘s Anatomy are on top, but when it comes to younger audiences and non-traditional ways of watching TV, the CW is way out in front. The official premiere week for television was the week of Monday,September 21, and while the CW‘s shows had mostly premiered by then, they were still lumped together at the top of the DVR ratings reportwhen the final +7 numbers came in.  If you‘re new to ratings analysis,DVR +7 refers to the numbers of times a show was watched on  DVR withinseven days after it originally aired.  Read more »
Leighton Meester, who plays the fabulously malicious and spectacularly well-dressed Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, called in to Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show on Tuesday to world premiere her new single, "Somebody to Love," featuring R&B crooner Robin Thicke. Joking that the track is a tame version of the original title(involving a particular four letter word instead of "love"), Leighton told Ryan, "Ireally wanted to make something that‘s completely different fromanything that‘s on the radio right now. I feel likeit‘s really dancy and fun, but it‘s still laid back and relaxed andmoody and sexy."The Gossip Girl star turned techno dance queen went on, "It‘sdefinitely about what‘s going on in my life and I think anybody canrelate. You‘re crazy, you‘re busy, you‘re young and you‘re runningaround and it‘s really hard to find somebody to love. Dear New Student,Welcome to NYU! We hope you are as thrilled as we are about the next four years, which are sure to be full of maturation, increasing social responsibility and global awareness, advanced analytical thinking in the arts, sciences, and humanities, and, of course, fleeting moments of fun and social interaction... when you have the time.JUST KIDDING! What a bore that college would be!Here at NYU, we know a thing or two about having a good time, and it doesn‘t involve what your parents might refer to as "book learnin‘." Sure, we have professors here (I think), but the person from whom you can learn the most is yourself! Which means we operate by the philosophy that, starting as freshmen, you‘re allowed to fulfill whatever fancy strikes you, whenever it strikes, whether it‘s wallpapering your dorm room or getting fellow minors fall-down drunk on a very high rooftop! Posh is reportedly a big fan of the show, while stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are fans of the former Spice Girl‘s designs. Read more »

Tonight on Gossip Girl: Blair and Vanessa fought fire with fire over the freshman toast, and both ended up getting burned, while Dan and Olivia learned the hard way that using a middle man in your relationship is an easy way to (almost) end it. Blair tricked Chuck into kissing a guy, all so she could shine at his expense. So, who played the game well, and who simply got played? While we‘re all still reeling from the backstabbing, game-playing toast-feud of the century that happened last night on Gossip Girl (only Blair and Vanessa would care so much about giving a silly toast, after all), let‘s all check out the promos for next Monday‘s episode, "How to Succeed in Bassness."Looks like Chuck and Blair‘s relationship is still on the rocks after she duped him into kissing a dude, and Dan and Olivia are setting sail for rough waters, too, when Dan maybe-kinda-sorta sees an Olivia sex tape?!Oh yeah, and Chuck is opening his hotel with a flapper party! Happy Halloween, Gossip Girl style (which means very little Halloween at all).Check out the promo and extended promo for the next Gossip Girl episode, airing at 9 PM on Monday, October 26 on the CW.  Read more »
I watch Gossip Girl religiously, but I know a lot of people who tuned in this week just to see the perpetually husky-voiced and pouting Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) kiss another dude. Anyway, while I‘m sure a lot of first-time Gossip Girl viewers revolted that the kiss didn‘t even last three seconds, for those of us who actually watch the show, the kiss fit perfectly within the episode‘s storyline, and not as what we feared--just some cheap stunt to draw viewers. Did it matter that the kiss was oh-so-short-lived? Maybe for those who tuned in for the spectacle. But in the long run, the fact that it didn‘t feel contrived made the man-kiss much more worthwhile.Don‘t forget to catch: ‘GossipGirl‘ Wrap-Up: The Good, the Bad, and the Insufferable Abrams Read more »
Glamour magazine recently put out their latest celeb-rankings for the "30 Sexiest Stars Under 30," as voted by their readers, and four of our favorites from Gossip Girl made the list! Not that we‘re surprised, but congratulations are in order for Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and Blake Lively, anyway.Better luck next year, Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szohr and Penn Badgley. You‘re still part of the all-around best-looking cast in Hollywood.Check out where the fab four landed in Glamour‘s countdown, and why each of them is so super sexy: Read more »
Blair Waldorf may be just a fictional character on Gossip Girl, but the Upper East Side Queen B has such a wide influence on our fashions (Hello, headbands), values (aristocracy is in again!), and arsenals of insults (A personal fave: "She is the loosest girl in class, don‘t you know Chuck doesn‘t like his fruit pre-picked?") that she might as well be a real person by now.Which might be why MTV News asked actress turned songstress Leighton Meester (who plays Ms. Waldorf on Gossip Girl) whether Blair would approve of her newest single, "Somebody to Love," the video for which she was in the middle of filming. Is Blair in Leighton‘s target demo with her dance-y, poppy techno-inspired tune?"I think it hits that... that audience, for sure," she explained to MTV News. Read more »
Not a few Gossip Girls fans have noticed how Nate (Chace Crawford) had been a little scarce this season on the CW series. Except last episode‘s high-stakes poker game, Nate‘s storylines had been a little drab, and the more cynical Gossip Girl viewers will tell you that he‘d been stuck in this rut ever since he started dating Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). Clearly, compared to the three other characters, his had clearly taken a backseat. In something that can potentially compromise his Gossip Girl appearances even further, Crawford is set to begin training for the remake of Footloose in New York, while taping for the CW series.  "He‘s doing dance training and physical training," Footloose director Kenny Ortega told the BBC. "We have a great teacher working with him there - he wanted it, he loves it." Read more »

Happy Friday, Gossip Girl fans! By now you must be putting on your special weekend power headband, picking out your most expensive dress, and downing a bottle of Dom before the special gala, art auction, wedding or other special invite-only occasion you are undoubtedly attending tonight. Right now you must be wondering: which length of hair extension looks best with this neckline? What witty retorts do I have at my mental beck-and-call for when I am next publicly scorned? Do I have my extra $25,000 in case there‘s an impromptu underground poker game? Isn‘t real life just grand?Just, please, be safe out there this weekend, kids, and don‘t give all your money toa mysterious Ponzi schemer, or get locked inside yourfriend‘s mother‘s couture shop in the middle of the night, or ruin your friend‘s cousin‘s Senate campaign, okay? I worry about you. Life is full of good and evil forces just waiting to fight over your well-being on the harsh New York City streets.Speaking of which! Before you go: are you old enough to remember what a Tamagotchi is? I hope you are, and not just because I could basically be your grandmother if you don‘t. It‘s mostly because Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester was in a TV commercial advertising those fabulous fad toys "back in the day," and it‘s adorable. She plays an angel! Check it out: Read more »
She might be on our list of tired pop culture Halloween costumes, but we‘d be in denial if we said the real Lady Gaga was even close to being played out.If she were, would TV‘s hottest and hippest teenagers be hosting her on their show November 16? Don‘t think so!Here‘s the first look at Lady Gaga on Gossip Girl, courtesy of the CW and People mag, who reported from the set: Read more »
Well, I didn‘t see this coming. And neither will Chuck Bass or Lily Van der Woodsen-Humphrey, if Kristin‘s latest spoiler over at E! Online really is about the stern patriarch that Gossip Girl buried last spring. For the spoiler-adverse fans out there, take solace that three other primetime shows could be the one hosting a "back-from-the-dead dad" plotline. Nothing is set in gravestone just yet. For those spoiler sleuths out there, check out Kristin‘s hint-filled post after the jump (including the three other shows), and then tell me: could it be Bart? Read more »
Tonight on Gossip Girl: Balancing one‘s relationships and business concerns is tricky (as in trick-or-treaty), especially when your significant other (or step-brother, or best friend) just refuses to butt. OUT. Rufus may have learned the not-at-all hard way that Halloween isn‘t exactly magical on the Upper East Side, but the rest of the Gossip Girl goblins learned that our yearly spooky holiday isn‘t necessary in their circle, as the people they know wear too many masks as it is. (Besides Nate, of course, whose relative absence meant that he just learned that Dan is magically clueless about sex, even after having dated Serena.) So, as Chuck tried to keep his hotel afloat, Serena tried to keep her job, Blair and Dan tried to keep their love lives intact, and Eric tried to keep from yanking those nasty extensions off Jenny‘s big, arrogant head, we tried to pick out the episode‘s best and worst quotes and moments. Check out the highs and lows of "How to Succeed in Bassness," after the jump. Read more »
The good news is: the Gossip Girl threesome is really happening. The bad news is: we still haven‘t absolutely confirmed its composition, except that it‘s going to involve a guy and a girl--so not much help there, except ruling out all-girl and all-guy menage a trois, which is really a stretch anyway. But we do have clues: check out ‘Gossip Girl‘ Spoilers: Threesome Clues Galore! Can You Figure Out Who‘s Involved?Michelle Trachtenberg tells MTV that while she wouldn‘t/couldn‘t say anything about this little upcoming showstopper, she said it‘s "worth waiting for." Remember how we were theorizing why Blair and Serena might be on the outs this week? Well, last night during "How to Succeed in Bassness," we certainly found out. And it looks like next week‘s episode of Gossip Girl, "The Grandfather: Part II" will just make matters worse for our favorite frenemies. Whoa. Hold the phone. Is that Blair Waldorf... trying to make a new friend? After the jump, check out two more sneak peeks of Monday‘s Gossip Girl episode (to accompany the two other "The Grandfather: Part II" videos we already got) which, judging from the glimpse we got of Serena shoving Blair‘s head into a cake, promises to be a dramatic one indeed. In the first clip, Blair sees a striking blonde who rivals her in riches and fashion knowledge: a worthy replacement for Serena if she ever saw one. In the second, Serena once again has to balance her new job as a publicist with her social problems as Tripp Vanderbilt‘s election party approaches. Read more »
Oh, you Gossip Girl fans. I post a teaser-ish article about how Bart Bass might come back from the dead this season, and you tell me to keep my spoilers to myself! Or at least out of my headlines. If Chuck‘s dad does indeed come back a zombie, you want to be just as surprised as Chuck will be!Point taken. My apologies, friends and frenemies. So now, if you‘ve come this far in the article, you must actually want to know more about if/how/why Bart Bass might be making his way back to the Upper East Side. Thank Ausiello over at the EW for this tantalizing hint... (Spoiler ahead!) Read more »
Looks like the bitch is hitting the fan next Monday on Gossip Girl.Or two, to be more precise--as Blair and Serena will use Tripp Vanderbilt‘s Senate fundraiser (or gala, or launch party, or something) as the background for their latest frenemy feud, and--knowing them--it‘s unlikely that either will come out on top. After the jump, check out the extended promo for Monday‘s episode (November 2, 9 PM, the CW), plus two clips from the episode. In one, Blair and Serena butt heads over Blair‘s new blonde "best friend."In the other, Dan‘s new favorite blonde tries to hide something from him. What could Olivia have said on Jimmy Fallon that was so bad? Read more »
I‘ve got to hand it to Gossip Girl (imaginary as she may be), because I really don‘t know how she does it. I spent one Halloween weekend out of town without a computer, and suddenly I‘m a mile behind on keeping up with the happenings of the Manhattan elite! Fortunately, that‘s what news round-ups are for. So, for anyone else who spent more time being spooky than reading scandal this weekend, gear up for tonight‘s feud-tastic Gossip Girl episode by brushing up on your off-screen GG news with me. Read more »
Tonight on Gossip Girl: It‘s easy to get friendship, family andpolitical ties confused... when everyone is equally likely to stab youin the back. Or the front. With a patriotic sheet cake. Blair and Serena continued their non-best non-friend feud. Who even remembers (or really cares) why? Meanwhile, Olivia told an "embarrassing" story about Dan on Jimmy Fallon, and Nate‘s blue-blood nature is getting in the way of his moral compass, and Vanessa‘s stupid-blood nature is getting in the way of any of us ever liking her character, ever.  Oh, and karma‘s a bitch, just like Jenny, which explains why she has swine flu this week. And Eric‘s nowhere to be found. Could this mysterious "infection" be his well-timed revenge? If so, he must have known that the worst symptom of getting a Humphrey illness is being forced into five hours of Scrabble with Rufus. So, while Blair mistook a high class call girl for a fellow haute couture lover, Nate got his cousin out of hot water (after jumping into the cold Hudson), and Serena babysat an actor inadvertently playing the role of herself as a high school junior, we tried to pick out the episode‘s best and worst quotes and moments.Check out the highs and lows of "The Grandfather: Part II," after thejump.  Read more »
Last night on Gossip Girl, episode 3.08, "The Grandfather: Part II": Chuck and Blair have yet to get naked. Nate tries to be naughty. Serena is a prostitute, and so is Blair‘s new friend Brandice. Vanessa reveals a scandal. Dan and Olivia are cute. Rufus, Lily and Jenny play Scrabble. And 26-year-old Tripp wins the election. For a more detailed summary, see below. Read more »
Judging from the episode title alone, Dan and Jenny might have it rough next week on Gossip Girl. No, not rough in that way... although next Monday‘s episode is the highly anticipated threesome episode, as the promo makes all too blatantly clear.Check out ‘Gossip Girl‘ Spoilers: Threesome Clues Galore! Can You Figure Out Who‘s Involved?Below, you‘ll find the "O.M.3." promo and the synopsis for episode 3.09, "They Shoot Humphreys, Don‘t They?" which promises a whole lot of drama for one hour of television next Monday night.Plus, (gasp!) what a surprise: another musical guest. Read more »
During last night‘s episode of Gossip Girl, the CW SNEAKED us a PEEK of Leighton Meester new music video, "Somebody to Love," which is still not a Queen cover, no matter how many times I relapse and think that it is.Speaking of non-covered things: Leighton Meester in this video. Check it out below. And then, tell me: What do you think of the brief glimpse of the video that you got? Do you even care? Do you like her song? Am I talking to myself? Read more »
All of us who watched Monday‘s episode of Gossip Girl caught a 30-second glimpse of Leighton Meester‘s burgeoning musical career with an exclusive sneak peek of her new video for her new song, "Somebody to Love." Yesterday I posted the music video clip, and asked what you thought of what you saw. And I still want to know! Now Leighton wants to take us behind the scenes to tell us where her inspiration for the song came from, how she enjoyed working with Robin Thicke, and--most importantly for the true Blair Waldorf fans out there--show us all the gorgeous clothes she gets to wear in the video! Read more »
TheWrap.com has obtained a letter sent from the Parents Television Council to CW affiliates, criticizing their intention to air next week‘s Gossip Girl episode, "They Shoot Humphreys, Don‘t They?" Promos for the episode confirm that it will include a threesome storyline for three major characters on the show, and the PTC is calling the move "reckless and irresponsible" to Gossip Girl‘s young viewers, and urging affiliates to not air the episode.According to the site, "CW insiders confirm the Nov. 9 show will end with three characters in atryst. Flashbacks from their menage-a-OMG will air in future episodes."In the letter (printed in full after the jump), PTC President Timothy Winter blasts the threesome storyline for negatively influencing teens towards "high-risk" and sexual activity, and the show itself for routinely portraying "promiscuous and consequence-free sexual behavior." If the affiliates air Monday‘s episode, Winters writes, they will be "complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagersshould engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adultfilms."Here is the full letter from the PTC. The CW has yet to comment. Read more »
It doesn‘t take a genius to figure out why the higher-ups behind Gossip Girl thought all-female band The Plasticines would be the perfect musical guest for next week‘s episode, 3.09 "They Shoot Humphreys, Don‘t They?" The song the group will be performing on the episode, "Bitch," isn‘t exactly oozing with subtext. More like "in-your-face-references-to-Jenny-and-Blair" text. They literally spell it out for us!Don‘t mistake that for criticism. After watching the 3-minute promo for the now even more anticipated "threesome" episode (airing Monday, Nov. 9 at 9 PM on the CW) I have to admit the song isn‘t just a perfect match--it‘s perfectly catchy! After the jump, check out the promo, which includes some of the bitchiness moments coming up during next week‘s Gossip Girl, set to the catchiness that is The Plasticines‘ "Bitch."  Read more »
What is it called when a once-hit TV show about an omniscient blogger who makes and breaks reputations through the power of her scandal reports finds itself suffering from a lack of buzz from the real-life blogosphere, and a lack of interest from the public? That‘s right, you might call it "irony". Unless you‘re in the Gossip Girl camp, in which case you should call it a "big, fat problem."This morning the New York Daily News reports that Gossip Girl, which is in its third season of following the fictitious lives of the Upper East Side‘s young, rich, and glamorous, is "the show that was once on the tip of everyone‘s tongue," but "now seems to be in the back of their minds" despite ploys from the CW to dredge up interest using high-profile guest stars (Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff, Sonic Youth) and "controversial" storylines, such as Chuck‘s (Ed Westwick) "gay kiss," and the upcoming threesome. So, what took Gossip Girl from "OMG" to "OMZzzzz"?In short, according to one pop culture expert: it‘s getting old. And I‘m not talking about the newly college-bound characters. Read more »
The tagline for tonight‘s Gossip Girl episode, "They Shoot Humphreys, Don‘t They?" may be "1 Night 2 Experience 3 Some"... but for us viewers, the experience will actually be triple the pleasure, double the fun! That‘s right: the much-talked-about menage a trois for three major characters will span the next two episodes.  Read more »
Next week, Lady Gaga will be visiting a whole new kind of fantastical realm, even for her: the Upper East Side.In the video below, courtesy of MTV, Gaga describes the process by which she decided to guest on the program, and how her hands-on approach to the collaboration resulted in one very "crazy" and "very gothic-inspired" performance."We used these ladders, and I‘m falling off ladders. Ladders are kindof a monster symbol about bad luck. And I have this 35-foot-long dresson and these X‘s," Gaga said of her "music video" inspired incorporation into Gossip Girl. For more hints about the episode, check out the interview after the jump. Read more »
Tonight on Gossip Girl: New alliances form, while others disintegrate under the pressure of so many text-lies and e-bites. Serena and Blair make up, but don‘t make out, while trapped in an elevator. Nate has nothing better to do than to deliver Chuck‘s mail and relive his high school "epic"-ness by escorting Jenny at Cotillion. Eric and Blair see the Franken-mess they‘ve created in one Jenny Humphrey, and they try to take her down, but it‘s too late--this monster is bigger, stronger, and more devoid of human emotion than anyone could have imagined, and she‘s got no sympathy for casualties under her evil, half-gloved hand. Including Jonathan, who breaks up with Eric for "sinking to Jenny‘s level." Plus, Serena is well on her way to earning the elusive "Skank Triple Crown" via a political scandal with congressman Tripp Vanderbilt, who is apparently above lying about a drowning hoax, but not above hiring an 18-year-old to whom he is overwhelmingly sexually attractive.  Oh yeah, and there‘s a threesome. Involving none of the above persons... and three people I once thought would be above such a drunken, sloppy mistake. I mean "adventure"! But hey, that‘s college. Or so Gossip Girl wants us to believe!  Read more »
Last week, the Parents Television Council wrote a stern letter to CW affiliates urging them to pull last night‘s episode of Gossip Girl, in which three characters engage in a threesome. The details of the three-way play were vague at that point, but the PTC made one point crystal clear: kids love to watch Gossip Girl, and Gossip Girl should not encourage that kind of sexual behavior among its viewers. As a concerned parent (Note: I am not a parent) of a small child (Note: This child does not exist) who loves to watch and reenact exactly what he sees on our TV screen each Monday at 9 PM, naturally I could relate to the PTC‘s concerns, and I was troubled by the prospect of my child‘s favorite show, which up until this point has been a powerful and realistic moral beacon in our household, all of a sudden encouraging dangerous behavior with my dear young son, Dustin. (Note: There is no Dustin.) I mean, the drinking, drugs, philandering, backstabbing, cleavage-bearing, and revenge-sex-having that frequently occur on this kid‘s program is one thing. It‘s our responsibility to depict the world as accurately as possible for our impressionable children, to prepare them for life‘s tough brunches and Ponzi schemes ahead. But where do we draw the line, as responsible parents? It‘s not like we can just turn off the TV. Something needs to be done!Well, I am happy to report that that ‘something‘ is actually nothing. My fellow PTC members, we can call off the troops with this whole "threesome" thing, because what I saw last night presented the topic with just as much maturity and realism that I have come to expect from my son‘s favorite program, Gossip Girl. Read more »

Lots of things have changed over the course of Gossip Girl‘s three seasons, but one thing has stayed the same: Dorota, Blair Waldorf‘s maid and partner-in-crime, is, and always has been hilarious, saucy, and all-around awesome. It‘s no exaggeration that Dorota has inspired an almost cult-ish following among Gossip Girl fans who appreciate her unfailing ability to make us giggle in the midst of all the teen drama on the series.Actress Zuzanna Szadkowski plays Blair‘s beloved, scene-stealing handmaiden, and we couldn‘t be more thrilled to announce that we have the exclusive chance to chat with Zuzanna on Thursday, November 12. We‘re just a weekend away from the most anticipated Gossip Girl musical guest ever (sorry, Sonic Youth): Lady Gaga!Judging from our three sneak peeks, the theme of this episode, titled "The Last Days of Disco Stick," is all about "Bad Romance"--what with Dan dealing with the threesome-aftermath, and Serena and Tripp still tripping over their overwhelming sexual tension. Zuzanna Szadkowski, better known as Blair Waldorf‘s maid Dorota on Gossip Girl, had no idea when she signed on for the minor role that it would make such a major impact--on the show, the fans, and her life as an actress. "I feel blessed," she told us when we had the chance to chat with her about the part, and the positive reactions it has elicited among the show‘s viewers. "I‘m thrilled and surprised every time I meet a Dorota fan."Zuzanna might be surprised by Dorota‘s popularity, but we‘re certainly not. On a show that often crams a week‘s worth of high-stakes drama into one hour, Dorota is more than just a maid: she‘s our essential comic relief; the brief exhales between Gossip Girl‘s frenzied sessions of passion, deceit, mortification, and the other outlandish growing pains undergone by its young, beautiful and affluent stars. It helps to have Dorota, to balance out all that turmoil. And it helps even more that she‘s hilarious. We had the chance to ask some of your fan questions for "Dorota," plus a few of our own. Our full Q & A with the lovely Zuzanna Szadkowski, after the jump. Read more »

Don‘t get me wrong: that was a good episode, Gossip Girl! Full of Blair-power, Chuck-heroism, and Dan-doofusness! Plus, Nate basically became a genius therapist, and that‘s fun, because everytime I think you can‘t top the last thing that made no sense, you do it! You top it, with something that makes even LESS than ZERO sense! It sounds mathematically impossible, but you manage it, every time. You also put Serena in shoulder pads, and made Rufus say "gonorhhea"! You even gave me Lady Gaga. So: Bravo, Gossip Girl! A truly momentous episode. But it really was full of bad, BAAAAD romances. Dan and Vanessa? Been there, barfed that. But I guess... they work. Serena and Tripp? In the sense that I can‘t decide who is a bigger hypocrite, I guess they work, too.Blair and the uppity, ugly theater kids? B, you‘re better than that. Conquering the school is not worth keeping the company of those who would insult the amazing Cyrus Rose. Wake up and save your Gaga-favors for the truly worthy! What else was good, bad and ugly about tonight‘s Gossip Girl, episode 3.10, "The Last Days of Disco Stick"? Let‘s get down to it, faster than Damien‘s drug-dealing hand to Jenny‘s royal crotch-al region. Read more »
Last night on Gossip Girl, Lady Gaga may have only physically appeared in the last few minutes of the episode, but her wide pop culture influence still played an integral role in bringing together Dan and Vanessa after their awkward threeway with Olivia, and in bringing Blair one step closer to ruling the elitist Tisch art school kids. Check out Gaga‘s full performance of her newest single, "Bad Romance," on Gossip Girl after the jump. Read more »
Thanksgiving among normal people is all about food, family, and football. Thanksgiving for Upper East Siders...? It doesn‘t take someone with Blair Waldorf‘s sexual tension radar to pick up on the fact that Serena and Nate have some unresolved romantic issues to work out. Anyone who watched last night‘s Gossip Girl episode could tell that the Serenate candle was rekindling on both ends. Until, of course, Tripp van der Bilt showed up, and took Ms. van der Woodsen off for some "van der on van der" action. But Tripp‘s a married man, and he‘s off to D.C. soon. So what could be in the cards for Serena and Nate in the future? Plus: What couples will be on the rocks as Gossip Girl season 3 unfolds?Spoilers ahoy! Read more »

No, not THAT kind of "strip"! We‘re talking shipper lingo, about Serena + Tripp, of course. Although, with an affair with a married Congressman under her belt, how far off could Serena really be from peddling her buxom wares on a pole? One thing‘s for sure: judging from the promo for next week‘s episode, we are about to see just how far Serena will go to get what she wants. That‘s right: no new Gossip Girl episode tonight, sadly. But here are FOUR sneak peeks of next week‘s "Treasure of Serena Madre" to get your gossip going until then... including what‘s in store for the van der Humphreys‘ first Thanksgiving as a family.  Read more »
Gossip Girl star Blake Lively will spend her post-Thanksgiving week with the cast of Saturday Night Live, which she is set to host on December 5.Will Lively be a giggly, coasting-on-her-looks host like January Jones two weeks ago, an eager to please entertainer like last week‘s Joseph Gordon Levitt, or something else entirely? For that we‘ll just have to wait and see--and it‘s hard not to be curious, given Lively‘s lack of acting experience in the comedy department. (Unless you count certain episodes of Gossip Girl season 3...) Read more »
Blake Lively visited Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to address the rampant Internet rumors about her... and the rampant awkwardness now that she and Jimmy no longer spend Thanksgiving together.Of course, the claim on the web that Lively is a Riverdancer is just as ludicrous as the idea that Blake and Jimmy have been eating turkey together since 1995 (she would have been... 8 years old then, yes?) but that doesn‘t keep either segment from earning our laughs. Check them out: Read more »

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, and held her own amongst the show‘s comedy players in skits about the Muppets, ladies‘ bowling, Tiger Woods, and even a Staten Island spoof of Gossip Girl. Beyond Lively‘s pleasing (though rather muted, stage-time-wise) performance, the episode was full of some other great laughs overall, especially the week‘s Obama cold open, the digital short, which starred musical guest Rihanna, and the fake "Underground Festival" commercial, which, if you‘ve ever heard of the "Gathering of the Juggalos," probably brought tears of joy to your eyes. If you have no idea what I‘m talking about, I recommend you do your online research and watch this first. (Thanks Videogum!) Tonight on Gossip Girl: DADDY ISSUES!!! More extended plot summary: Chuck is haunted (mentally, but all too literally for our eyes) by his father, Bart, and his rigid expectations on the anniversary of Bart‘s death. Lily sends Rufus to her building co-op meeting, where he meets a pretty lady who accuses him of being a trophy husband. [Editor‘s note: Some trophy. Where‘d you win that, the ‘86 Dumbo Dad Awards? OH YEAH!] Maureen blackmails Serena with the letter from HER real daddy, saying she better stay the "Marilyn" to Maureen‘s "Jackie" if she doesn‘t want Rufus to find out that Lily was in a hotel room with Serena‘s father. [So THAT‘S what the letter said!] Jenny is a drug dealer now. [Anyone who‘s seen how she dresses knows that there MUST be some latent daddy issues rolling around in there causing so many terrible decisions, but they‘ve never been mentioned as a cause of this newfound stupidity, per se.]Meanwhile, Nate loves Serena almost as much as he loves doling out sage advice, and tries to convince her that Trip is a douche while also convincingDan to go for it with Vanessa. Then Serena gets in a car crash with Trip, and the hit to the head makes her finally realize that Trip is a grade-A Congressional moron. Dan strikes out with V, big surprise.ALSO: is Chuck‘s mother... ALIVE? Survey says YES! Is this a daytime soap opera now? Survey says PRETTY F***ING CLOSE!After the jump: the winners, losers and burning questions from "The Debarted."  Read more »

The time has finally come for the public to voice their opinions. We‘re a bit late on picking the finalists, but 5 writers had to watch 92 videos and rank their favorites. We never expected this many submissions but we‘re happy so many people participated. It has been a joy watching all of the videos and being convinced of ships we didn‘t even know existed. As I‘ve mentioned in the past, not all the writers have seen all these shows. The finalists were picked simply for the quality of the video and how convinced we were by the couple. We had speculated previously that the major thematic moments had to be from 2009, but since we didn‘t know which moments were from 2009 and which weren‘t if we didn‘t watch a show, we had to just use our best judgment. Read more »

Who would have thought there‘d come a time on Gossip Girl when Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) would be the most secure and adult couple? They aren‘t countering a betrayal with another betrayal like Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Michael Settle); or dragging normal, well-adjusted people into their crazy thing, like Dan (Penn Badgley) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr); or, well, selling drugs like Jenny (Taylor Momsen).Catch: Taylor Momsen: Jenny Never Fit in on ‘Gossip Girl‘Anyway, tonight‘s episode of Gossip Girl started out with Serena (Blake Lively) and Nate (Chace Crawford) making out in the kitchen with whipped cream and strawberries, with Blair, not to be outdone, wanting them to know that she‘s having a nice time herself - while flipping through a fashion magazine and moaning, "Oh Chuck, yeah right there" again and again. Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of Gossip Girl, we‘ll hopefully find out whether or not the mysterious woman - Elizabeth Fisher - is indeed Chuck‘s (Ed Westwick) mom or just the one of the crazy women that Bart Bass played with like she claimed. The games Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) play may have finally caught up with them. As evidenced by tonight‘s edition of Gossip Girl, just when you thought you had these characters figured out, they do something unthinkable and we‘re suddenly back to square one.Case in point: Chuck. Apart from the OMFG moments that abound on Gossip Girl, fans of the CW hit also watch out for the drool-worthy Upper East Side fashions (or Brooklyn for Vanessa and Jenny) that the characters don every episode. From $600 robes to $2,000 bags, Gossip Girl seems hell-bent on imposing high-end couture to an audience that seems mostly incapable of realistically acquiring them in the first place - especially if they‘re too busy attending eighth grade. We looked into how much would it cost to dress like Blair (Leighton Meester) or Serena (Blake Lively) on Gossip Girl, and unlike Blair‘s headbands, these things are not to be scoffed at. It‘s a Dorota episode on Gossip Girl tonight! Sort of. On "The Unblairable Lightness of Being" Chuck (Ed Westwick) offers to throw a wedding for Dorota on the aftermath of her engagement with Vanya on the last episode. She, however, insists that she and her doorman-lover have a traditional wedding before her parents arrive from Poland and find their daughter pregnant and husband-less.The Cost of Dressing Like a ‘Gossip Girl‘Is Chuck trying to busy himself following the whole sort of selling Blair (Leighton Meester) to Jack saga? As you can see on one of the promos below, he‘s all "I thought our relationship can withstand anything, apparently I was wrong." Blair (Leighton Meester) is understandably not very amenable to patching things up, despite the insistence from the supposedly stable couple on the show now - Nate (Chace Crawford) and Serena (Blake Lively).Promos after the jump: Read more »
It‘s wedding night tonight on the CW. After the big finale wedding on Life Unexpected, Dorota ties the knot on Gossip Girl. The proceedings involve a 14th century balloon game - don‘t ask - which in a lot of ways describes the tension and the subsequent blow-up in our favorite couple‘s lives. The Cost of Dressing Like a ‘Gossip Girl‘Is it the end of Chuck and Blair? We start off with the news that Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) have not left their room for days. Attempts from good cop Nate (Chace Crawford) and leggy cop Serena (Blake Lively) to get them to reconcile are to no avail. Thankfully, Dorota‘s parents are coming so a big "traditional" wedding needs to be set up pronto, a wedding that must feature a "happy couple" to walk Dorota down the isle for good luck. The happy couple, at least in the Gossip Girl universe, is Mister Chuck and Miss Blair (Westwick and Meester have reportedly just split up with co-stars Jessica Szohr and Sebastian Stan respectively). Read more »

Serena‘s (Blake Lively) daddy issues are more alive than ever tonight on Gossip Girl, and this time it looks like things are going to blow up to her face.
