When Glee announced it was doing another Britney Spears tribute episode, I‘m not sure this is what the newest judge on The X Factor had in mind. The show takes direct aim at Britney‘s dark period by having Brittany recreate those bad days of stuffing her face with Oreos, shaving her head and beating the paparazzi with umbrellas.  Read more »
The second Britney Spears tribute episode of Glee was pretty darn entertaining, highlight Britney‘s trainwreck period to hilarious results. But it did leave me with a few questions. Which girl is Sam going to hook up with? Why did Puck come back? And most importantly, do Rachel‘s dance teacher and her new beau have a romantic history?  Read more »

The Return of FinnGlee is two episodes into the new season, and Finn has been MIA so far. Fortunately for all you Cory Monteith fans, he‘s about to make his return in next week‘s episode, "The Break Up," where we‘ll see him head to New York. While Cory isn‘t spilling the beans on if he and Rachel are getting back together (only that it‘ll be an "emotional roller coaster," as TVLine put it), he did reveal he‘ll be pairing up with The Glee Project season 2 winner Blake Jenner (whose character is Ryder Lynn) on Foreigner‘s "Juke Box Hero" that is expected to be in the November 8 episode. Read more »
Things are changing on Glee, and that‘s NOT good for the relationships, but it is good for the show. This week there‘s a change in the McKinley High student council, a potential big change for Will, a change in Kurt and Blaine‘s relationship, and a big change for Rachel and Brody that involves their tongues. Well, that was painful. Glee offered up a big, sad, emotional episode this week as nearly every major couple broke up, or at least hit some rocky terrain. There‘s a hilarious tragicomic subtext to this week‘s Glee that is sadly undone by the feel-goodery of the final moments. For most of the episode, New Directions languishes in defeat after losing Sectionals for the first time ever. They‘re lost and directionless. Meanwhile in NYC, Rachel and Kurt‘s lives reach all-time highs. I appreciate the juxtaposition of these two wildly different emotions, although it still bugs me that everything always comes up roses for Rachel and Kurt.  Read more »

It‘s a new year on Glee, and the time off has been very kind. The first episode of 2013, "Sadie Hawkins," is actually very fun. It‘s lighthearted and energetic, and it moves several plots forward. No, I‘m not joking, I actually liked watching the entire episode. Even the New York stuff didn‘t bug me. Wedding + Valentine‘s Day = Sex. That‘s the equation for this week‘s Glee as Will and Emma‘s big V-Day wedding brings everyone back to Lima, creating some very sexual reunions. Yes, the heightened hormones and emotions cause everyone to lose their minds and make some questionable choices. Except Will. He just gets left at the altar. Like the guilty pleasure songs performed this week on Glee, this episode is nonstop fun. I‘ve been hard on the show for the past few weeks, but this week I just let go of my hate and enjoyed myself. I mean, really, with "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," "Wannabe" and "Mamma Mia," how can you not just stand up in your living and dance like no one‘s watching? The only way to enjoy it is to turn your brain off, because if you start thinking about all the plot holes, terrible decisions, out-of-character twists and utter waste of talented people, it will make you go crazy.
