Alan Tudyk gained fame as one of the main cast members of Firefly. For 14 episodes, he portrayed Hoban "Wash" Washburne and served as Serenity’s pilot. As Zoe’s husband, he often expressed jealousy over his wife’s relationship with Captain Mal. Perceived as a laid-back guy with an occasionally dry sense of humor, he frequently served as a calming influence in heated arguments.

You just cant keep a good super-villain down. Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog, the Internet musical from Buffy the Vampire Slayer mastermind Joss Whedon, was yanked from DrHorrible.com less than a week after it became available. The goal was to allow hardcore fans a chance to see it for free, then hope theyd either buy it on iTunes or wait for the eventual DVD. Shelling out cash to see Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Nathan Fillion (Firefly) sing catchy ditties wont be necessary just yet, as Dr. Horrible has now reappeared on Hulu and MySpace, with plans to bring it to Yahoo!, AOL and other websites. If you missed it the first time, now is your chance to witness the online sensation free of charge.

Earlier this week it was announced that there is a Buffy the VampireSlayer movie in the works. Normally, this would have Buffy and Jossfans in a frenzy of excitement. But theres a catch! Its not likelythat any of the cast from the hit TV show will be a part of it, andneither will creator/director Joss Whedon. This got me thinking, well whats the point? You take away theingredients that made the television show a success, what are you leftwith? The disaster that was the first Buffy film? Or a reinventedsuccess?

Saturday night of Comic-Con, at the Entertainment Weekly / SyFy party, my world came crashing down. Im a huge fan of Joss Whedon and Im generally obsessed with Firefly. I havent had the time to make a fan vid about it yet, but believe me, I will. So, imagine my utter despair as Joss Whedon told me that Firefly is over. "No ones ever given me the slightest hope," he said when asked about the franchise. I might be naive, but thats not the answer I was expecting. Comic books, straight to dvd, nothing?

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit the set of Americas favorite new show V. Obviously, i was excited to see the spaceship and lizard-alien gadgets but was surprised to find out V films in this huge green screen warehouse. Ive seen a big green screen or two in my time but this one takes the cake. But, despite the fact that I didnt get to run around on a spaceship, I was able to interview the amazingly talented and wonderfully friendly cast of the new hit ABC series.

Earlier today, we tweeted our best birthday wishes to that creative, hilarious, enigmatic and prolific powerhouse Joss Whedon, who turns 46 today, and these 133 characters pretty much sum up our feelings for the guy:Happy Birthday Joss Whedon! Thank you for Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible & your big, brilliant brain! Love, The WorldWe dont often think we speak for the world, but in this case we were willing to bet that the world stands with us.As much as birthdays are about celebration and love, theyre also about reflection. Joss Whedon has accomplished so much in his 46 years, even just in the TV realm: hes brought us the many-treasured worlds of Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse, put his unique stamp on episodes of Glee and The Office, and taught the Internet what it was capable of with Dr. Horribles Sing-Along Blog. Its not an exaggeration to say that without the strong, smart and ass-kicking characters of Joss Whedon, the TV land we love so well would not be the same. So, in the spirit of both celebration and reflection on this, Joss Whedons birthday, we want to know:Whos your favorite Joss Whedon hero?

Greetings from San Diego! The temperatures are high, the days are long, and self-proclaimed geeks from all over the country are making their way here for the 2010 San Diego International Comic-Con.For newbies, the size of the convention floor can be daunting. Most of the crowds tend to go straight for the big booths (like the WB), meaning a lot of the smaller booths go completely unnoticed. Last year I offered my Preview Night Seal of Approval to one of these smaller booths, and this year I would like to offer the same Preview Night Seal of Approval to another worthy booth: The California Browncoats. Let it be said that Firefly/Serenity fans are some of the most dedicated at Comic-Con, and The California Browncoats are no exception. This nonprofit organization--started by four devout Firefly fans--promotes Firefly and Serenity fandom while raising money for worthy causes. I did not pick this booth just because I am a Firefly fan; I picked this little booth in the far corner of the exhibit hall because its the only place to pick up incredible (and cheaply priced!) Firefly and Serenity gear. Plus the money you dish out benefits Equality Now, an international human rights organization dedicated to action for the civil, political, economic and social rights of girls and women.

As a fair percentage of the Castle-watching population knows, star Nathan Fillion has done some other things on television. So it shouldnt be much of a surprise that Castle cannot totally contain its star this week.

Is it just me, or has Castle been getting darker recently? The heartbreak of Becketts mothers murder was revisited, and then Castle had to deal with an old friend who turned out to be a killer. The fun is still there, but a dark cloud has been hanging over the show so far in 2011.Things get even darker this week.

Im not entirely sure that Castle star Nathan Fillion was expecting much more than a chuckle when he declared his love for Firefly in an interview last week. If that were the case, however, then Fillion definitely needs to pay more attention to the (over) reactions common to his old shows fan base. Because now hes got them mobilizing.

No one expects much from summer programming. Relationship-heavy and plot-light bits of fluff fill the airwaves. Thats fine, but it does mean an occasional summer-lowering of TV quality. By that rational, USAs new legal show, Suits (Thursdays at 10pm), is too good for summer. Much too good.

Happy National Nude Day! If youre in the privacy of your own home, I think you know the best way to honor this "holiday," which was probably invented by Big Suncreen to sell more product during the summer. Im on to your games, Banana Boat. But since most of us cant (or wont, or shouldnt) shed our clothes for the day, heres another, SFW way to celebrate: By watching these classic, clothes-less scenes from some of our favorite comedies. Because as you, I and every TV writer out there knows, naked people are funny. Dont worry, most of these scenes have been scrubbed free of anything truly scandalous, since they originally aired in primetime. The most youll see is some bare backside. (One of which belongs to Danny Devito. Eeeuuuugggghhhh.)
