Lines. Crowds. Crazy people in costumes mixing with your run-of-the-mill geeks. That‘s the San Diego Comic-Con to most of its attendees. But there is another Comic-Con going on behind the scenes. Cult is a creepy show. I admit to having a nightmare after my first viewing of the pilot. That‘s what happens when a show purposely sneaks into your head and tries to make you doubt the very foundations of reality.Because Cult does this successfully, it makes for some great TV viewing. Read more »
The series premiere of Cult titled "You‘re Next" was quite the hour-long journey. I‘ll admit flat out that I will be watching future episodes with the light on. It‘s equal parts horror, mystery and psychological thriller. (Side note fun fact! This show was originally supposed to air on what used to be The WB with White Collar‘s Matt Bomer.)‘Cult‘ Review: Watch at Your Own Peril... But Definitely Watch >>Cult is a show within a show, and it tackles a television show‘s fandom. Even in the shows that you and I watch, there are fiercely loyal followers. You know when you watch a trailer of a movie that gets you excited, but the trailer is what contained most of the excitement of the movie? That‘s how I felt with "In the Blood." It fell a little short of expectations and didn‘t maintain the suspense, creepy factor nor momentum from the pilot. It‘s more straightforward and leaves more questions. Read more »

Shows with occult or mystical themes such as The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf and the aptly titled Supernatural have been delivering thrills for years. However, the story lines tends to be melodramatic or rely on a fictional mythology. For people who like their horror a little gorier and a tad grittier used to be restricted to premium channels; for example, HBO‘s True Blood and Showtime‘s hit Dexter. However, the days of padded cable bills or waiting a year or longer for a DVD release in order to be horrified are coming to an end. Read more »
