Articles for Chuck Season 5

After a far-too-long hiatus, Chuck season 5 returns this Friday with "Chuck vs. the Zoom." And, to be brief, it‘s awesome. Read more »
Stupid major sporting events making things difficult for TV watchers. Thanks to an impressive rally by the St. Louis Cardinals during game 6 of the 2011 World Series, pretty much everything scheduled for normal television viewing on this Friday night has been messed up. What exactly has been changed? Read more »
Chuck begins its final season in a familiar position in the NBC hierarchy, destined to fail against the highest-rated World Series in years. However, determined Chuck fans are more than happy to see Morgan take over control of the Intersect. Read more »
Now that Chuck is finally back on the air (no thanks to baseball...), fans are wondering just what is to come in the fifth and final season of their show. What will happen now that our heroes are spies-for-hire? Will Morgan make it as the new Intersect? How will it all end?Chris Fedak, the co-creator and executive producer of Chuck, spoke to reporters about what we can all expect as the show goes into season 5. Read more »
Now that Chuck season 5 is underway, it‘s time to start rolling out the guest stars. While there are many big names scheduled to appear on the show, the first recurring character of the season will be played by Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss.  Read more »
It‘s been a rough week for the Buy More/Carmichael Industries: Their assets were frozen. They had an unsuccessful pitch meeting to gain much-needed new clients. They met their biggest competition (although Casey had already known her... Biblically). They got a client who turns out to be the bad guy. And their bearded secret weapon started acting like a petulant child. Here are some of my 5 favorite moments from "Chuck vs The Bearded Bandit" (in no particular order): Read more »
Fans of the show knew that things would be different in Chuck season 5, now that Morgan has the Intersect. But this different? Morgan‘s increasingly bizarre behavior ("Who‘s Luke Skywalker?" Seriously?) comes to a head in this week‘s "Chuck vs. the Frosted Tips." What‘s going on with Morgan? Will he stay over on the Dark Side? Josh Gomez, who plays Morgan Grimes, has some of the answers. Read more »
Morgan has gone rogue, and nobody is happy. At the end of the last episode, "Chuck vs. the Bearded Bandit," we were treated to the shocking sight of Morgan Grimes turning on his best friend in order to go work for the competition, Gertrude Verbanski. Why did Morgan do it? What‘s going on with the new Intersect? Is the Chuck-Morgan friendship over? A couple of videos released by NBC give the beginnings of answers to those questions. Read more »
OK, so the private spy firms of Verbanski Corp and Carmichael Industries aren‘t really real. But they are on Chuck, and that‘s good enough. This philosophy is behind a pair of websites recently released by NBC. Company sites for both Carmichael and Verbanski have popped up, giving us a look into what makes these two competitors tick.Since a company‘s website is the main way that customers learn about a business these days, it seems best to rate the Verbanski and Carmichael websites in areas of style, content and usability.  Read more »
Remember last week when I said "Chuck vs. the Frosted Tips" was going to bring you back on board with one hell of a great episode? Did I lie? No, I did not. What last week lacked in memorable moments with the Spy More crew this week more than made up for. Without further ado I give you the Top 5 Moments from this episode of Chuck, titled "Chuck vs. the Frosted Tips" (in no particular order):  Read more »
Titles make everything seem a little more real, don‘t they? If that is true, then the impending end of Chuck has just gotten very real. We now know the title of the Chuck season 5 -- and series -- finale. It‘s going to be a sad goodbye. Read more »
Chuck doesn‘t get out of Burbank often enough. Sure, he occasionally jets off to Europe or Asia, but the man never gets a chance to relax on such visits. Will that change in "Chuck vs. the Business Trip?" Alas, it seems unlikely. Read more »
If there was one thing I was hoping for in "Chuck vs. The Business Trip" it would be the removal of the intersect from Morgan‘s melting brain. That happened moments into the episode and, for me, the rest was cake. So, how was I going to find moments to top that? I just couldn‘t! So this week I took to the Internet to find out what YOUR 5 fab moments of the episode were. As expected, there were many more than 5 favorite moments, but I was able to narrow it down since most of you seemed to agree. So, here you go, wonderful patrons of the world wide web; YOUR Top 5 moments from "Chuck vs. The Business Trip," as usual, in no particular order.  Read more »
Life has not been easy lately for Chuck and his friends. They managed to lose the Intersect altogether, narrowly avoided an assassin and saw one of their own get carted off to jail. And, judging by these spoilers, it doesn‘t look like life will be getting any easier in the episodes to come. Read more »
Fans of the show could not help but notice that Linda Hamilton, who plays spy matriarch Mary Bartowski, has thus far been absent from Chuck season 5. But we do not have to fear that Mom Bartowski will be gone for good -- Linda Hamilton is set to return to Chuck for the season 5 -- and series -- finale in January. Read more »
Considering all of the questionable activities carried out by the cast of Chuck over the years, it‘s actually kind of surprising how little time has been spent in jails. Of course, the government sanctioned and covered for most of the spy activities before. That‘s all gone now. It was only a matter of time before someone on Chuck season 5 was incarcerated. Check out these video‘s from this Friday‘s episode, "Chuck vs. the Hack Off" to see what life is really like for Casey and Lester in prison. Read more »
Back in September, Chuck invited journalists to visit the show‘s set during the filming of "Chuck vs. the Hack Off." That episode airs this Friday (December 9) and finds the spies divided -- John Casey (along with Lester) is in prison, while Chuck and Sarah need to infiltrate a new-age commune in order to complete their own mission. While on the set, we had the chance to talk to Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah) about what exactly was going on in "Chuck vs. the Hack Off." Read more »
There‘s going to be a lot of stuff happening in this week‘s episode of Chuck, "Chuck vs. the Hack Off." How could there not be? After all, when last we saw our favorite Burbank-based spies, both John Casey and Lester were getting carted off to jail. But what else can we expect from the episode? Keep reading for some possibilities and some spoilers. Read more »
We had to go two whole weeks without a new episode of Chuck. It really made the end feel near, especially for me as I was able to visit the Chuck set this week as they wrapped up filming. (You will read more on that in the coming weeks.)  It‘s real, folks, and it‘s coming quickly -- the end of the series. Can you believe we are already five episodes in now? Thankfully, this week we had the incredible Zachary Levi at the helm directing "Chuck vs. the Hack Off,‘ which brought the smiles back on our sad little faces.  Read more »
A lot will be happening on Chuck before the end of the year. Thanks to a rather spoiler-heavy promo clip showed at the end of last week‘s "Chuck vs. the Hack Off," fans know that a certain villain from Chuck‘s past will be returning. But what does that return mean for the spies? What else can we learn about those paying a visit to Burbank before Chuck season 5 comes to an end?Keep reading to find out. Read more »
The actors who appear on Chuck always have a lot to say about their show. But what do they have to tell us about this week‘s episode, "Chuck vs. the Curse"? NBC has released three video interviews with the Chuck cast, full of tidbits about the episode and the show in general. Read more »
In this week‘s episode of Chuck, "Chuck vs. the Curse," it seems like everyone is trying -- and failing -- to find romance. I guess the natural instinct is to take comfort in love when the CIA is after you for treason, theft and murder. Even so, it‘s not easy.Check out these videos to see just how troublesome date night is for three different Chuck couples. Read more »
Shaw is back. This week‘s "Chuck vs. The Curse" felt more like a filler episode -- a bridge between what happened last week and what will happen next week. It was a bit like Chinese food: satisfying but you‘ll be hungry for more in an hour. With that said, I really couldn‘t pick 5 top moments, so instead I will talk about the powerhouses of the episode -- the girls and the power couples. Read more »
There‘s plenty to be excited about in this week‘s Chuck Christmas episode, "Chuck vs. the Santa Suit." With major returning-guest-star action and a possible answer to the conspiracy questions that have tormented the Chuck characters all season, why would we need anything more? Two words: Stan Lee. Read more »

Does Sarah have a baby? That‘s the question many a Chuck fan had to ask after Daniel Shaw dropped a "baby" bomb on us at the end of "Chuck vs. the Santa Suit." This week‘s episode, "Chuck vs. the Baby" looks ready to give us some answers on Sarah‘s murky past. We‘ve got a video clip from "Chuck vs. the Baby," some spoilers, and even a goodbye from the set of Chuck itself. So keep reading! Read more »
This one was all about Sarah Walker. Thanks to Daniel Shaw‘s cryptic ending to last week‘s "Chuck vs. the Santa Suit," we knew that something was up. What we didn‘t know was just how much of Sarah‘s past would come to light in "Chuck vs. the Baby."It was a sentimental, occasionally even sappy episode. And here are the Top 5 moments! Read more »
For more than four years now, Chuck and company have managed to keep their CIA activities at the Buy More a secret. Is all that about to change? A new video from this week‘s episode, "Chuck vs. the Kept Man," indicates that someone might be about to learn some spy secrets. And a second video shows the changes that privatization might bring to the spy life.Keep reading to find out what‘s going on! Read more »
With just four new episodes of Chuck left, I was hoping for a little more out of "Chuck vs. the Kept Man." There were definitely golden moments, though. Sarah‘s reaction to walking in on Casey and Gertrude was possibly one of the funniest subtle moments we‘ve seen from Sarah. I also loved the cliffhanger at the end, but like Casey, I felt like the mission this week felt ... well, weak. I noticed a running theme throughout the episode: things that aren‘t what the seem. Instead of doing five favorite moments, I am going to run down all of the things that weren‘t what they seemed. Read more »

But we do have a little information about the final two episodes, airing on January 27. Keep reading to get your first clues to the end. Read more »

"Chuck vs. Bo" was so packed it almost felt like two episodes. For Jeff and Lester it likely felt like the same episode over and over. Who doesn‘t love a good Adam Baldwin ad-lib? (Casey‘s "I hate Twitter" line was all his own.)  What about that twist at the end? That was a secret I knew about but had to hold onto for quite some time. Now I get to freak out with the rest of you. Despite knowing what the big secret was, I didn‘t know how it would play out. There were quite a few unexpected delights throughout the whole episode, so tonight I will give you my Top 5 Unexpected Moments from "Chuck vs. Bo": Read more »

I loved every action-packed minute of this second to last episode of Chuck! The main setting of a Japanese bullet train is so fun and flashy. The dramatic battles of our heroic trio (Chuck, Sarah and Casey) against the mighty Quinn had me spellbound in suspense for the entire hour.  Read more »
In five years, Chuck has done some of the most amazing things -- things that few other television shows could do.
