USA Network‘s prized spy dramedy Burn Notice is set to return for its third season tonight with "Family and Friends."  The Jeffrey Donovan-led series was picked up with a 16-episode order early October last year.  The third season will feature the return of the show‘s cast, including Donovan as burned former spy Michael Westen, his action-obsessed ex Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) and his old war buddy Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell).On the third season premiere, Michael is bailed out of jail by an old friend who asks something in return. Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of Burn Notice - "Question and Answer" - Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) will realize that his decision to call off management at the end of last season is one risky move, as he becomes instantly visible to just about anyone who may have a grudge against him.   Judging from last week‘s season premiere, the Miami police seem to be the least of Michael‘s concerns.He then faces a new foe in the person of Detective Paxon (Moon Bloodgood), who has tracked down explosives he‘d been hiding in a storage facility.  On the side, Michael and the team must rescue a kidnapped child by using reverse interrogation.  So while he realizes that he is no longer under the thumb of anyone, he‘s also not under their protection. Read more »
Judging from the comments on last week‘s Burn Notice episode preview, everybody was ecstatic to see Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) and the USA Network dramedy return on air.  Tonight on Burn Notice, Detective Paxson (Moon Bloodgood), who was introduced on the last episode, will be the least of Michael‘s worries since a dear old "friend" is set to make a return. Meanwhile, it was reported previously that we have not seen the last of Brennan (Jay Karnes), which, of course, spells danger of Michael, Nate Westen (Seth Peterson), Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar), and Sam (Bruce Campbell), as they need to help with an elaborate heist. On tonight‘s episode of Burn Notice - "Fearless Leader" - Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) gets a hold of a crime lord who seems to be the prime suspect in a Miami PD investigation, so he wants to hand him over to get the Miami police off his back. Following eight episodes, Burn Notice wraps up with an installment that finds Michael realizing the true price of getting his job back, and it could cost him everything. Last time we saw Burn Notice, Barry (Paul Tei) enlisted Michael‘s (Jeffrey Donovan) help in tracking down his money-laundering client list, which has been stolen by a vicious thief. Michael went after the thief only to find that the task wasn‘t all that it seemed. Meanwhile, Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) tried to be supportive of Michael‘s decision to reconnect with the intelligence community, but she and Michael realized that their differences on the issue may not be reconcilable. Read more »
Burn Notice is currently taking a hiatus en route to finishing the second half of its third season in January, but the USA Network series has been renewed for a fourth season, Entertainment Weekly confirms. While reports of Burn Notice being renewed had been circulating as early as July, sources said things only became final recently.The 16-episode fourth season is set to debut next summer. Read more »
Burn Notice won‘t return to the USA Network until January 21st but Gabrielle Anwar fortunately has something to keep herself occupied during the five-month hiatus (the last episode aired August). The English actress is appearing alongside One Tree Hill star Craig Sheffer in a Hallmark Original Movie tentatively titled Murder Among Friends.Anwar, who on Burn Notice plays Westen‘s ex Fiona Glenanne, will play art authenticator Joss Jenner, who joins her college girlfriends for a bridal shower that turns into a crime scene when one of the friends is found dead and is presumed to have been murdered. One of the friends becomes devastated and fixated on solving the crime. Sheffer, who plays Dan‘s older but under-achieving brother Keith on One Tree Hill, will play sheriff Zach Watts, who along with the local authorities immediately start an investigation. Read more »
Less than a week before Burn Notice returns for the second half of its third season on January 21, and while the premiere "A Dark Road" will be mighty exciting on the espionage side of things, there is another aspect to it that we are very excited about: the reunion of Sharon Gless, who plays Michael‘s (Jeffrey Donovan) chain-smoking mom on the show, and her Cagney and Lacey partner, Tyne Daly.This seems to be payback time or returning the favor, since Gless has done Daly‘s show Judging Amy. Read more »
USA Network‘s Burn Notice returns tomorrow night, and if E! Online is to be believed, the Cagney and Lacey reunion on the episode will be a good one. As we all know, Tyne Daly reunites with her old detective buddy Sharon Gless, who on Burn Notice plays Michael‘s (Jeffrey Donovan) not-exactly-modest mommy.On the Burn Notice episode, Michael forces his mom to cultivate Tyne‘s character as an intelligence asset. We already know that Mental actor Chris Vance is the person behind the voice on the telephone on Burn Notice. But this week we‘ll finally meet him. Vance, who wrapped up the Fox series in August last year, was cast as Michael Westen‘s (Jeffrey Donovan) latest foe on the USA Network show.The British actor‘s four-episode arc as Gilroy is set to begin this Thursday, playing a sophisticated and ruthless former MI-6 agent who oversees freelance black ops.
