On this animated series from FOX, we‘ll be taking a look at the story of businessman Bob as he runs one of the most successful franchises in the country -- burger joints. But for Bob‘s Burgers, it‘s been slow and getting even slower. Lucky for this third-generation restaurateur, he has his family to support him.Helping Bob Belcher (H. American Idol will be getting rid of some of the guest performers and cutting down the results show to 30 minutes, Glee will get the coveted post-Super Bowl slot and there will blessedly not be a fall season of So You Think You Can Dance. Are you guys watching Bob‘s Burgers yet? Because you really should be. First of all, it‘s got the best voice actors of any cartoon on TV right now, hands down. H. Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman and Dan Mintz are all great, but it doesn‘t get any better than John Roberts as the mom, Linda, if you ask me. He could say anything in that voice and I would laugh, but as it turns out, he (and the rest of the actors) says a bunch of hilarious things on Bob‘s Burgers, so I laugh even harder. That‘s what we in the "biz" like to call a "mirth double rainbow."*I‘m not just saying this because I am a TV writer on a TV blog, I‘m saying this as your e-friend who would never steer you wrong: Watch Bob‘s Burgers. I know good laffs when I have ‘em, and this show is giving ‘em. HARD. It‘s so delightful! And so free on Hulu or or, you know, your TV!And this Sunday, it‘s getting even MORE awesome, because Megan Mullally is lending her voice (and nasal) talents to the mix. Watch a clip below:*No one actually says that, except me. Just now. And probably never again.  Read more »
A little roundup for my fellow chuckle-heads:Great news! Fox has officially renewed Bob‘s Burgers, their hilarious freshman animated series that has only gotten better over the course of its first season. Now we can all look forward to at least 13 more episodes of H. Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman, John Roberts and the rest of Burgers‘ A-caliber voicecast making us laugh with their antics and burger puns. (Note to the writers for season 2: More Tina moaning, please.)  Read more »
I‘m still riding the high I got when I heard yesterday that Bob‘s Burgers has been renewed for a second season. Good on ya, FOX! This show is so great. It‘s like every week the voice actors and the joke writers have a showdown to see which is the best part of the show, and it‘s always a draw. (A "draw!" Get it? Animation!!! Give me a break, it‘s Friday.)Anyway, if you‘re not on the Bob‘s Burgers train yet, you‘d best get aboard, because a second season is on the menu, and this Sunday‘s episode looks awesome: Kevin Kline will stop by again as Bob‘s landlord, Mr. Fischoeder, and Sarah Silverman will also lend her voice to the mix. Check out three clips of Bob‘s Burgers, which, unlike Bob‘s actual burgers, just keeps getting better: Read more »
Today the nominations for the 2011 Teen Choice Awards were announced, and as usual, it‘s a collection of obvious choices. Guess what? Teens still love Twilight, and they also really like Justin Bieber, Glee and Justin Timberlakie (who, at 30 years old, will probably be given a Lifetime Achievement Award next year). Read more »
