By Maisy FernandezFilm.comNo matter how predictable America‘s Next Top Model can be each season -- can Tyra Banks please quit breathlessly whispering everything at elimination? -- producers and Banks still know how to inject some unexpected life into the show. For instance, during the upcoming 11th season, er, cycle, we‘ll see our first transgender contestant, Isis Tsunami. Read more »
America‘s Next Top Model contestant, Brittany, aka ShaRaun, certainly made a strong impression on last night‘s cycle 11 premiere.  Too strong.  She walked into the competition, acting like she already had it in the bag - an attitude the rubbed the judges the wrong way.  When she didn‘t take a strong enough photo and it landed her in the bottom two, her arrogance became her undoing and she was the first model sent home.  Today, ShaRaun spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview, saying that she wasn‘t arrogant at all and the judges had it all wrong.  Read on and decide for yourself what you think about her.Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
America‘s Next Top Model returned for its 11th cycle tonight with a special 2 hour season premiere.  The first episode was all about the semi-final round and narrowing the field down to 14 models who would compete this season.  In the second episode, the girls moved into their new Top Model house in Los Angeles and got to know each other.  They also were given the opportunity to sit down 1-on-1 with the judges and make a good first impression, a first for the show.  At the end of tonight, one model has already been eliminated from the competition while 13 others move on to compete for the title of America‘s Next Top Model.  Read on to find out more details about tonight‘s episodes! Read more »
I‘m back!  Woah, there was so much to talk about in the first hour of America‘s Next Top Model that I need to start a whole new article for the second hour.  In the first hour, the girls headed to the Top Model Institute of Technology where they competed in photo shoots and runway walks.  They were narrowed down to 20 and then to the final 14.  Among this season‘s contestants are: transgendered model Isis, the season‘s villain Clark, athlete Brittany S., activist Elina, and small town girl Hannah.  Stay with us for the second hour of Top Model.  Keep refreshing and let us know what you think about this season‘s crop of aspiring models! Read more »
America‘s Next Top Model returns tonight with a special 2 hour premiere episode.  Sure, I want to know who makes the final cut in tonight‘s semi-final round but I have more pressing questions that I need answered like what the heck is up with Miss J. and Mister Jay‘s hair this cycle?  Are they not supposed to be experts in fashion?  If you haven‘t seen the coifs yet, then just wait a few minutes and you‘ll see what I‘m talking about!  Tonight, the girls will attend Top Model Institute and they‘ll have to pass a few tests before they can make it into the actual competition.  I‘ll be here for the next 2 hours, updating live through the episode.  Tune in, keep refreshing, and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
America‘s Next Top Model is back for Cycle 11, and with it, my favorite part of the show: the photo shoots.  Sure, a fierce runway walk is fantastic, and good presence will cut through a lot of criticism at panel, but personally, I‘m a sucker for a great photograph.  I can overlook a bad personality, a lack of magnetism, and general un-Cover-Girl-ness for the girl who can nail that high fashion look in front of the camera. This week, we had our first chance to see what this newest batch of modelettes can do, and I must admit, there were some surprises in the bunch.  Most of the time, this column will just focus on the Best and the Worst, but for this first time, let‘s take a look at all of our new girls as we started to get a sense of their potential. Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model, the girls met up with posing expert Benny Ninja to work on some moves that should be able to help them during this competition.  He brought along a model and contortionist to help give them some inspiration.  For their challenge, the models posed with purses in interesting ways in order to impress Benny.  Elina ended up winning the challenge but it didn‘t seem like she received any sort of prize.  At this week‘s photo shoot, the girls posed on a rope ladder which was supposed to hang from a hot air balloon.  Due to weather conditions, the ladder had to be hung from a crane instead.  Read on to find out who did well and who was sent him this week on Top Model. Read more »
I am finding myself pleasantly surprised by Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model. For one thing, I think this is one of the overall stronger group of girls that we have seen recently, and it‘s nice to see a batch that has several girls who actually look like real models as opposed to just pretty girls who will make for good America‘s Next Top Model drama. This week, I‘m going to once again run through the whole group, because there was a lot to look at in this set of photos. Read more »
After making it through Top Model Institute, 14 girls moved on to compete this season on America‘s Next Top Model.  Tyra‘s standards are high this season and she immediately unloaded Shauran last week, for having a giant ego and not delivering enough in her pictures.  Tonight brings the return of posing expert (and guy who creeps me out) Benny Ninja to teach the girls about the art of posing.  The models will also use a rope swing for this week‘s photo shoot.  Sheena decides that she can‘t continue in the competition until she tells the judges something important and I can‘t wait to find out what it is.  I‘ll be here all hour, updating live, so keep refreshing and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
Last week on America‘s Next Top Model, we met the modelettes of Cycle 11, and it was not as disappointing as I had been anticipating. We seem to have an interesting group of girls who might both bring the drama and maybe even do some good modeling.Nevertheless, every week one of them has to go home, so based on what we saw in the first episode, who could be in the chopping block to follow Sharaun home from America‘s Next Top Model? (There are spoilers galore floating around the internet right now, but I haven‘t been following them, so I‘m making these guesses just from what we‘ve actually seen.) Read more »
Nikeysha may not have spent a lot of time on America‘s Next Top Model, but she certainly made an impression.  The aspiring model landed in the bottom two twice in a row and this week proved to be her last in the competition.  Tyra and the rest of the judges felt that her pictures weren‘t strong, she didn‘t take critcism well, and she was too thin.  Today, Nikeysha spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview, responding to the judges and sounding off on her fellow competitors, like Hannah and Isis.  It seems Nikeysha is still being Nikeysha - always saying what she thinks, whether people like it or not!Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
This season, America‘s Next Top Model raised a few eyebrows when Tyra Banks cast trangendered model Isis on the show.  She first discovered the aspiring model last season when she participated in a photo shoot raising awareness about homeless youth in America.  Isis was in the background for the shoot but made enough of an impression on Tyra that she tracked her down to be part of cycle 11.  The fact that Isis joined the show certainly gave Top Model some extra press and attention leading up to the season premiere.  Not all of it was positive feedback and not everybody was ready for a transgendered model, especially Isis‘s fellow competitors. Read more »
Last week on America‘s Next Top Model, Isis, who started out with a strong photograph, didn‘t live up to the bar she set for herself and her second photo was a flop.  Lauren Brie, who delivered a mediocre performance in the first major shoot, wowed everyone with her stellar high fashion shot.So it‘s still early enough in Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model that we don‘t quite yet know each modelettes full potential - or weaknesses, but here are some guesses as to what might happen on this week‘s episode. Read more »
There doesn‘t seem to be an America‘s Next Top Model fan out there who doesn‘t have a strong opinion about Isis.  I get that it seems that the focus so far this season lies heavily on her, but that‘s partially because it is so early.  We haven‘t really gotten to know any of the contestants but Isis has already made a huge impression, by being the first transgendered model to make the final cut.  Also, the show has centered a storyline about her in every episode since the season premiere a few weeks ago.  With several BuddyTV articles written about Isis, and the controversy over her being in the competition or the controversy over the way she‘s been treated thus far, the readers have sounded off and made their opinion known.  The feedback is almost 100% positive towards Isis - it seems our readers are accepting, forward thinkers! Read more »
YAY!  It‘s the makeover episode of America‘s Next Top Model tonight, also known as my favorite episode of the entire season.  Bring on the hair dye, the extensions, and the razor because you know that somebody in this crowd is losing all their hair tonight.  I want drama, I want tears, I want breakdowns.  The makeover episode usually provides us with some of the most memorable moments of the season and I‘ll be here all hour covering the good, the bad, and the ugly!  Make sure to keep refreshing throughout the episode and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
America‘s Next Top Model contestant Brittany does not want to be just another pretty face.  What exactly she wants to be instead is unclear.  On last night‘s episode, Brittany landed in the bottom two, along with Analeigh, after a sexy swimsuit photo shoot.  Tyra felt that Brittany was unable to connect with the camera and sent her packing.  Today, Brittany talked to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview, dishing on her fight with Elina, her thoughts on Isis, and exactly what she hopes to do in the fashion world now that her time on Top Model is over.Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
Back in the day, when Tyra Banks was at the top of her modeling career, no one had any idea just how zany she could be. With 11 cycles of America’s Next Top Model, and the birth of her talk show, America has gotten to know Tyra maybe a little bit more than they wanted to. On her talk show, Tyra has done everything from stripping down to a bathing suit and slapping her butt to pretending to be a small child asking her parents about sex for the first time. Her antics on America’s Next Top Model have gotten wackier and wackier over the years.  Is Tyra‘s behavior entertaining or slowly ruining the image of a former supermodel? Read more »
America‘s Next Top Model Cycle 11 Makeover GalleryAmerica‘s Next Top Model kicked off cycle 11 on Wednesday, September 3, with a special two hour season premiere.  Fourteen girls were chosen to compete this season for an aspiring model‘s dream prize: management by Elite Model Management, a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl, and a photo on the cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine. Read more »
This week on Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model, the girls got their makeovers!  There were the requisite tears, but overall, this seemed to be pretty gung-ho group who were eager for a new look.  They then had the chance to put those new looks to the test with a bikini photo shoot with photographer Russell James.  Some girls worked their new looks to their best advantage, while others just coasted.  Who were the best and worst this week? Read more »
Tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model was the ever popular makeover episode.  Things got started when the girls found Tyra Banks sitting in their living room, dressed as a princess.  She told the girls a story of when she was a young model.  Someone in the industry told her and her mother that she should lose 15 pounds and Tyra‘s mom said, "Screw that.  Let‘s get a pizza!"  Instead of going down the high fashion route, Tyra took a different road and became a superstar thanks to Victoria‘s Secret and Sports Illustrated.  Don‘t ask what this story had to do with makeovers, but after Miss Jay came out dressed like a witch and Mr. Jay, dressed as Prince Couture saved her, the girls found out they were getting new looks.  Only Tyra could deliver that news in such a weird way. Read more »
Let‘s hope that, starting tonight, on America‘s Next Top Model, the girls find something else to talk about besides Isis.  It‘s only the fifth episode and already, I‘ve heard every ignorant comment there is about her.  Perhaps if some of them would focus more on modeling than gossiping, they wouldn‘t find themselves close to the bottom each week.  Tonight, the girls get their first opportunity to walk the runway, but they‘ll have to do it blindfolded.  When they do their photo shoot, they‘ll have to pose with their eyes.  What this has to do with anything, I don‘t know, but I‘m hoping that a model falls or crashes into someone.  With fingers crossed, I‘ll be here for the entire hour updating live.  Keep refreshing and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
Last week on Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model, we saw transgendered contestant Isis continue to slip from her strong start, Samantha emerge from her makeover with an edgy cut and a new attitude that landed her a great photo, and pretty Brittany getting sent home. We still have a lot of modelettes on the playing field, and as both Lauren Brie and Samantha have reminded me, mediocre performance one week early on is not necessarily an indicator that an awesome shot is out of the question. However, with a few more shoots under our belts, who seems to be trending down on America‘s Next Top Model? Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model, Clark and a few other girls in the house banded together to say that they hoped Isis would be the one to get eliminated.  Hannah felt fed up with the way that Analeigh and Marjorie stressed about their chances of getting eliminated.  It seems that the girls are starting to get a little sick of each other.  No worries because tonight was a double elimination so two models are headed home.  Between blind runway competitions and using only their eyes for their photo shoot, the models were definitely challenged tonight.  Read on for more details on tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model. Read more »
The photo shoot for this week‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model made me slightly suspicious. After last week‘s shoot, it seemed patently obvious that the lower half of Clark‘s face was simply not going to ever photograph like a model. Then this week, the shoot conveniently covers it. Clark has seemed to have some good drama potential, so I can‘t help but raise an eyebrow at the timing which keeps her in the competition another week.Well, regardless of why the shoot was structured how it was, we have to make some picks, so here are this week‘s picks for Best and Worst photos on America‘s Next Top Model. Read more »
There isn‘t a fan of America‘s Next Top Model out there that won‘t soon forget cycle 11 contestant Isis.  As the first transgendered model to become a finalist on the show, she may have raised eyebrows but proved why she deserved to be there during her first photo shoot.  Her fellow contestants talked about her behind her back but Isis never let anything anybody said get to her.  Over the weeks, though, her performance seemed to get worse and worse and Tyra took notice.  On last night‘s episode, she called Isis "sleepy" and eliminated her from the competition.  Today, Isis spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview and explained why she got weaker as the photo shoots went on.Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
Don‘t blame Top Model‘s Hannah if she‘s never interacted with gay, transgendered, or even black people before.  She‘s just a small town girl from Alaska.  In the season premiere, she talked about being chased by moose and not having any highways.  She was confronted by several girls in the house this season, who felt that she was racist.  Hannah defended herself, saying that she couldn‘t believe that anyone would ever think that about her.  Her biggest eyebrow raising moment came when she pushed Isis away from her in the hot tub.  Perhaps bad editing, perhaps a girl who didn‘t know any better.  In any event, in today‘s exclusive interview with Hannah, she had nothing but praise for Isis.  Due to a bad connection, the audio quality from the phone conversation was too poor to post but we‘ve got enough quotes from this controversial model so that you can judge Hannah for yourself. Read more »
Last week‘s episode of Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model was a double elimination. Both Alaskan Hannah and transgendered Isis were sent packing, leaving nine girls still in the running. With more episodes under our belts, we‘re starting to get a better sense of the capabilities of this group of modelettes. Who could potentially be landing in this bottom on this week‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model?  Read more »
Editor‘s Note: This is a weekly guest post from the TV staff at Film.com. Check back here on Wednesdays for more Film.com stories about your favorite shows: Big Brother, The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, American Idol and America‘s Next Top Model.  : Welcome to Tyraland, where models come in second to the upstaging antics of America‘s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks, a former supermodel who oozes excess like she‘s some contemporary Hunter S. Thompson.Only Tyra‘s drug of choice is Tyra, and non-addicts are overdosing on her self-love. Read more »
I‘m not sure how interesting America‘s Next Top Model will be from this point on, with both Hannah and Isis getting eliminated last week.  Hannah was always good water cooler talk for her constant naive and closeminded comments, while Isis kept us glued to the tv set, breaking barriers and opening up new doors for the LGBT movement.  Oh well, at least Joslyn makes me smile.  Tonight, the girls will pose on a set involving natural disasters, from earthquakes to wind storms.  Ah, tidal waves were never sexier.  Judging from this picture, the girls will have to once again overreact to Tyra‘s antics.  Good times.  I‘ll be here for the entire hour, updating live, so keep refreshing and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model, the girls were faced with a challenge by Paulina Porizkova.  She informs them that, once the show is over, a bulk of their work will be in catalogs - if they‘re lucky.  Sometimes, clothes don‘t fit right or flatter the body so the girls were given tools to make their looks work for them.  The winner received 50 extra frames in tonight‘s photo shoot and McKey ends up doing the best job, impressing Paulina.  Back at the house, the girls confront Marjorie over her negative attitude and tonight‘s photo shoot revolves around natural disasters.  Read on for more details on tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model! Read more »
This week on America‘s Next Top Model, the photo shoot had the girls acting out natural disasters…and a couple unnatural disasters, like a black out and a car crash. I guess a show run by a woman known for her weave can‘t be expected to really have a solid grasp on what is natural or not.Which girls wrecked it in a good way and which just did some damage to their chances on America‘s Next Top Model? And this week, there are a whole pack of girls sitting in the almost-but-not-quite category. Read more »
Love her or hate her, you never had to wonder what America‘s Next Top Model cycle 11 contestant Clark was thinking this season.  This outspoken model refused to play the friend card, keeping her focus just on the competition.  She didn‘t help others with their poses or runway walks.  Clark just worried about herself.  She was one of the biggest protesters when it came to Isis joining the competition for cycle 11.  She was eliminated on last night‘s episode after Tyra saw a dramatic drop in her performance from one week to the next.  Feeling that she was incapable of being consistent, she was sent home.  Today, she spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview and didn‘t hold back when it came time to speak her mind!Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
Each week on the 11th cycle of America’s Next Top Model, the show has been updating fans on past contestants in a short segment that airs during the commercial breaks. The segment, called “Top Models In Action”, had already let viewers know how Toccara, Shannon, Lisa, Eugena, and Chantal are doing since appearing on the show. Though the former contestants have appeared in various magazines and runway shows, it’s hardly the life of a supermodel. It seems every model struggles once her CW stint ends, which is why Tyra is unveiling a new reality show that answers the question: What happens to the contestants once America’s Next Top Model is over? Read more »
Last week‘s elimination of Clark from Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model wasn‘t really too much of a surprise. What was a little less expected was Joslyn tumbling all the way to the bottom two, and turning in a photograph that showed little of the glamorous promise she displayed earlier in the season. Can Joslyn pull herself together and deliver the fierceness this week? If so, which other girls could be trending down to that bottom spot?  Read more »
The pressure is always on for the ladies of America‘s Next Top Model but tonight, one of them is pushed past her breaking point.  In the promo, it looked like Mr. Jay wasn‘t happy with just about everyone‘s performance in the photo shoot, telling them that they‘re not good enough and they need to step it up.  Something must happen that‘s more dramatic than that, since he‘s always critiquing and telling the girls like it is.  At this point in the competition, with the international destination looming, there isn‘t a model who feels safe and anybody could go home.  I‘ll be here for the entire hour, covering every tear that falls and every frame that is shot.  Keep refreshing and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
Today on the Tyra Banks Show, a new show within a show was introduced, called Modelville.  Tyra is taking 5 former Top Model contestants and giving them a second chance to make it big in the fashion world.  The lucky models chosen are: Fatima Siad (Cycle 10), Dominque Reighard (Cycle 10), Lauren Utter (Cycle 10), Renee Alway (Cycle 8), and Bianca Golden (Cycle 9).  Tyra brought the 5 women on her show today to get updates on their lives since being on the show.  Fatima admitted that she has a hard time making ends meet, sometimes not even knowing where her next meal is coming from.  Dominique revealed that when she returned home from the show, she found out that her boyfriend had gotten another woman pregnant.  Each woman had a story that perhaps held her back from reaching her full potential but Tyra was about to deliver some amazing news to them that could forever change their lives (again). Read more »
On tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model, it’s time for the girls to find out what their signature poses are. They meet with Tyra Banks, who coaches each of them through 20 frames. For the first 10, they’re allowed to just experiment with poses on their own with minimal input from Tyra. Then, the girls are allowed to go to the monitor and see what they had been doing. The last 10 frames were seriously coached by Tyra and in the end, Marjorie won the photo challenge for her signature look, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. No, really! Read more »
Much like an America‘s Next Top Model contestant, I started out this cycle with some level of enthusiasm for this group of modelettes. They seemed, collectively, kind of modely! But much as Tyra Banks breaks down the modelettes to “build them back up again,” I‘m feeling a little deflated as we enter the midpoint of this cycle. I mean, I wasn‘t necessarily a Lauren Brie fan, per se, but to send her home after a couple of ho-hum shots, after she‘d delivered some of the best Tyra had seen? Well, we can‘t say she didn‘t warn us: we think we know America‘s Next Top Model, but we don‘t know. Oh well, one thing I do know is what I thought about the photographs from this episode. Read more »
On America’s Next Top Model, there may be two Jays, but there is certainly no confusing them. There is Mister Jay Manuel, who coaches the models at each and every photo shoot and there’s Miss J. Alexander, runway coach extraordinaire, who also serves as a judge on Tyra’s panel. Mister Jay has only sat in on panel in rare occasions while Miss J. interacts with the models for coaching sessions once or twice per season. Miss J. is known to wear completely outlandish outfits, while the most over the top thing on Mister Jay in his silver hair. These two have been with Tyra since the very beginning and today, it was announced the CW has given them their very own spinoff: Operation Fabulous. Read more »
Last week on Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model, we had the relatively surprising elimination of Lauren Brie. While Lauren Brie hadn‘t been the most dynamic girl away from the photo shoots, she had taken some of the most convincingly high-fashion shots that we have seen on America‘s Next Top Model. But, once again, let‘s recall that Tyra Banks has warned us that just because this show has lumbered along for eleven cycles doesn‘t mean that we can predict what is going to happen week to week. Nevertheless, let‘s try. Read more »
This week on America‘s Next Top Model, the CW rolled out a clip show, reminding fans of everything that has happened thus far this season as well as showing never before seen footage.  Last week, however, Tyra eliminated one of cycle 11‘s strongest models, Lauren Brie, for lacking in the personality department.  Lauren Brie took a photo early on that Tyra called one of the strongest in Top Model history but clearly, it wasn‘t enough to keep her in the competition.  Shortly after her elimination episode aired, Lauren Brie got sick and was unable to do her interviews but, now feeling better, she was ready to chat.  This week, she spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview.Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model must only be one or two photo shoots away from their international destination.  Currently still in the running are Joslyn, Elina, Marjorie, Sheena, McKey, Samantha, and Analeigh.  The international destination is always a place that can make a break or model.  They go through stressful go sees, where are they are always pressed for time, navigating their way through an unfamiliar city.  Then, there‘s always the infamous Cover Girl commercial, which could feature an accent or even another language.  That‘s usually the place where aspiring models crumble and we tune in to watch every second!  Read on to find out where cycle 11 will be heading in the upcoming weeks on Top Model, as well as some juicy cycle 12 info! Read more »
Tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model is a clip show, letting fans relive some of the best moments thus far in cycle 11.  Normally, I‘m not a fan of clip shows but on ANTM, that means that the international destination is coming soon so bring it on!  Tonight‘s episode doesn‘t just regurgitate everything we have already seen and know about.  Top Model will show fans what went on behind the runway, featuring never before seen clips from makeover meltdowns to model workout routines to the crazy catfights that didn‘t make the original episodes.  Here‘s the stuff that you didn‘t get to see from tonight‘s episode: "Top Model Confidential"! Read more »
Previously on America‘s Next Top Model, Tyra taught the girls how to work their signature poses.  Lauren Brie didn‘t make the cut and was sent home, and now only seven girls remain. The girls find out about their international destination on America‘s Next Top Model tonight, but not everyone will get to go.  The modelettes will be put through the ringer once more to see who has what it takes to be a top model.  Not all of them will be able to handle the stress, however. You wanna be on top? Read more »
On tonight‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model, Elina and Marjorie separate themselves from the other girls in the house when they continue to blame their issues on being immigrants.  The other girls in the house don‘t seem to understand and feel like the two have had a sufficient amount of time to adjust to the American way of life.  However, it was time to put their differences aside when the models had to meet up with Ron and Richard Harris, the aswirl twins, who first appeared on the show in cycle 6.  The brothers give the models a lesson in how to sell a garment for a designer.  Afterwards, the girls are surprised by James St. James, a personal stylist/aurthor, who lets them know that they‘ll perform in an avant garde fashion show for Nony Tochterman. Read more »
I had only just recovered from last week‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model being a clip show, and now this! No photo shoot this week! I know the modelettes‘ attempts to read lines is supposed to be enough entertainment to make up for the lack of pretty pictures, but I, for one, am dissastified. I like my America‘s Next Top Model as two-dimensional as I am. But we have to make due with what we got, so let‘s pick the best and worst performances from the episode Read more »
Usually on America‘s Next Top Model, when a contestant turns in a solid performance when sick, Tyra rewards them by keeping them in the competition.  That was not so much the case this week for Joslyn.  After coming down with a viral infection, and being rushed to the emergency room, she was determined to continue on in the competition.  The judges, however, did not feel that her Cover Girl commercial was strong and were also of the opinion that her performances have been weaker as the competition wore on.  She landed in the bottom two with Elina but ended up being the one sent home.  Today, Joslyn spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview.Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
On last week‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model, Sheena declared that the battle between her side of the house and Marjorie-Analeigh-Elina side was a battle between good and evil. She didn‘t really specify which was which, but I suppose we all can guess what she thinks. Honestly, though, to me it‘s not so much “good” and “evil” as “in-” and “over-”. As in sensitive. Read more »
Here we come, international destination!!  On America‘s Next Top Model, there are just 6 models left in the competition and tonight, they‘ll land in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  International destination means go-sees, Cover Girl commercials, and more intense and high pressure photo shoots.  In tonight‘s preview, it looks like Sheena is incapable of posing without looking like a whore, which is really unfortunate.  Sheena has been one of my favorite models from the beginning (along with Elina and Analeigh) but she has been told repetitively to class it up.  I‘m hoping tonight is not her last episode with ANTM but it‘s not looking good.  I‘ll be here for the next hour, updating live.  Keep refreshing and post your thoughts, too! Read more »
On tonight’s episode of America’s Next Top Model, only 6 models remain in the competition and they head out to their international destination: Amsterdam, The Netherlands. When their plane lands, the girls are greeted by Daphne Deckers, the host of Holland’s Next Top Model. She splits the girls into three teams of two and they must work together to find their house in an unfamiliar city and country. The teams must complete a series of tasks along the way but the winners will receive 50 extra frames in their next photo shoot. The teams are: McKey and Sheena, Sam and Elina, and Analeigh and Marjorie. Sam and Elina were able to navigate their way through the city the best and were the winners of the challenge! Read more »
Once again, as Tyra Banks told us about Cycle 11 of America‘s Next Top Model, you might think you know, but you don‘t know, and I totally didn‘t know! Like some of you, I was completely under the impression that Sheena‘s story was being shaped around getting to the end. You know what else I didn‘t anticipate? That the models would pose in the Red Light District! You know, like whores! Because nothing says “Easy, Breezy, Beautiful” like aping legalized prostitution. Read more »
This season on America‘s Next Top Model, Sheena definitely had her ups and downs.  She would seesaw back and forth each week from the top of the pack to the bottom.  The judges repetitively told her to turn down her sexual nature until it became her undoing in this week‘s photo shoot in Amsterdam.  Sheena, however, will be remembered for much more than her photos.  She was a model who stood up for herself and others in the house and was never afraid to speak her mind.  Today, she spoke to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview.Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview. Read more »
Tomorrow is Election Day and we face perhaps one of the most important presidential races of our time. Celebrities have come out in droves, asking their fans to register and let their voices be heard. A recent campaign called “Don’t Vote”, in which A-list celebs tell people not to vote, using sarcasm to make their point, has became popular online. The ad features Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Harrison Ford, Cameron Diaz, and Ellen DeGeneres, among many others. Talk show and America‘s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks has also gotten in on the action. She had both candidates on her show, but has thrown her support fully behind Barack Obama. Read more »
Well it turns out I couldn‘t have been more wrong in my picks last week for who would be going home and who would be safe on America‘s Next Top Model. I had thought that Sheena would be safe for quite a while, and look how well that turned out. I‘m not making any predictions about the election Tuesday as the American public can be as difficult to read as Tyra Banks. But it‘s my job to try to suss out what could happen this week on America‘s Next Top Model, and so let‘s makes some guesses! Read more »

By Susan Young, Film.comOn America‘s Next Top Model...zzzzzz….Yeah, you heard us. The zs. The Big Sleep. After investing a lot of time into our once favorite guilty wallow this season, we‘re at the breaking free point. There‘s only three episodes left before the Nov. 19 finale, and we can‘t believe we‘re still watching. Must be that OCD kicking in. Read more »
There are only 5 models left in the competition on America‘s Next Top Model this season.  Tonight, the girls will head out on the all important, and overly stressful, go-sees.  In a country where they don‘t speak the language and the streets start to sound the same, making their way to each designer will be tougher than they ever imagined.  Tyra has no patience for models who miss their appointments or show up late at the end of the day.  Stay with BuddyTV for the next hour and I‘ll be updating at each commercial break.  Be sure to post your thoughts, too!  Anybody want to kick off tonight‘s episode with an elimination prediction? Read more »
Ashton Kutcher and Tyra Banks have long been familiar with the quest for beauty in the world of reality TV.  Kutcher served as the creator and executive producer of Beauty and the Geek while Banks is the creator and star of America‘s Next Top Model and The Tyra Banks Show.  While both have their own ideas of what makes a person truly beautiful, they‘ve decided to combine their expertise to re-define the concept of beauty on a new show called True Beauty.Premiering on ABC on Monday, January 5 at 10pm ET/PT, True Beauty features six stunning females and four handsome males who will live together in a spectacular Los Angeles mansion as they undergo a series of challenges to determine who is truly the most beautiful.  The show will be hosted and judged by Vanessa Minnillo, who previously hosted TRL and ET, along with judges Cheryl Tiegs, author and designer, and Nol Marin, fashion expert for E! and The Tyra Banks Show.  Read more »
Our America‘s Next Top Model Cycle 11 final five were whittled down to a final four last night after the usual go-see shenanigans and a Very Special Photoshoot with none other than Ms. Tyra Banks. The girls had to give us not one but two kinds of good face: clean-scrubbed and totally done-up. Which girls were able to work the looks the best on last night‘s episode of America‘s Next Top Model? Read more »
There’s a reason that people call Tyra Banks the next Oprah. The reality and talk show host is clearly looking to start an empire. This year, she announced a spinoff of her hit show, America’s Next Top Model, called Operation Fabulous. Top Model photo coach Jay Manuel and runway coach Miss J. Alexander will travel around the country, transforming women from drab to fab. Her newest reality show, Stylista, the search for the next great fashion editor, is currently airing on the CW network. She is the executive producer of both Operation Fabulous and Stylista. Banks recently teamed up with Ashton Kutcher (That 70s Show, Punk’d) for her latest project, True Beauty. Details surrounding the show have been kept quiet – until now. Read more »
I missed the mark pretty wide a couple weeks ago when I predicted Sheena would continue to be safe on America‘s Next Top Model the very week she was eliminated. I am glad to brag, then, that I haven‘t completely lost my ability to read the waxing and waning of Tyra‘s weave (all the secrets of the universe can be found there!). I was correct that the “scream at the judges” advertised last week was, boringly, just Elina being pushed to show emotion. I still have some America‘s Next Top Model mojo! Can I maintain it this week? Who could be on the chopping block to not make it to the final three Read more »
