Trenyce Biography:
Trenyce Cobbins was born on March 31, 1980 in Memphis, Tennessee. When she was four years old, Trenyce started her singing career by performing jingles for television and radio commercials. While participating in local talent shows and school pageants, Trenyce was given the title "Miss Sophomore" and was a "Miss Junior" runner-up at Central High School. She was a given a full music scholarship by the University of Memphis, where she was able to further hone her talent by joining the school's "University Singers" organization and by singing with the band, Sound Fuzion. For three years, Trenyce also studied nursing at the university, but came short of finishing when she realized that music is her real calling. Before joining season 2 of American Idol, Trenyce had already performed in public, singing at such places as Rhythms Night Club, Precious Cargo, and Isaac Hayes' Restaurant. Her favorite artists are Whitney Houston and Brian McKnight.
For season 2 of American Idol, Trenyce first had to audition in Nashville, where she found herself singing for the head honchos of the show for three long days. She was then selected by the three judges-

Randy -to move on to the Hollywood Round in California. All her hard work and traveling paid off as she became one of the 32 semifinalists, and after wowing the viewers, went on to continue performing in the Finals. Songs that she sang for the Finals include ""Come See About Me," "I Have Nothing," I'm Every Woman," "The Power of Love," "Have You Ever?" and "Proud Mary." She was finally voted off after her rendition of Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield's "Love Will Keep Us Together." She was the eight contestant eliminated.
Trenyce joined the American Idol, season 3 concert tour after the finale. The tour only lasted for about 3 months, but it gave Trenyce the opportunity to shine, singing hits like "Proud Mary" and "I Have Nothing." She has also appeared on many television shows like Live With Regis and Kelly, Extra, ET, Fox and Friends, The CBS Early Morning Show, The Wayne Brady Show, The Pulse, Inside Edition, Good Day Live, The Today Show and TRL. She has also graced the pages of Grace Magazine, Proud Magazine, Party Source and Elite Magazine, where she was deemed one of Memphis' 30 Most Beautiful People.
