Biography

Born on June 26, 1969, Steven Brand is a Scottish actor. A native of Dundee, Scotland, he lived in East Africa while he was young, and even spent nine years in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. He has continued working extensively in theatre, working in London before he was invited to Los Angeles, California.

Steven Brand’s first foray into the television industry was in 1993, when he was cast alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones on the popular British TV series The Darling Buds of May. He later found himself working on a horror film, titled Beyond Bedlam in 1994. He was also seen on the series Casualty, before he landed guest roles in Taggart, Babes in the Wood, The Bill, Psychos and the series Love in the 21st Century. In 2000, he joined the cast of the series Doctors, portraying the character Chris Rawlings for more than 20 episodes. At that time, he was brought over to the U.S. to star in Universal’s The Scorpion King. He later worked on the HBO series The Mind of the Married Man, and Stephen King’s The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer. In 2004, Brand got roles in series like Still Life and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The next year, he was in the TV production McBride: The Chameleon Murder and on an episode of Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service. He later played the recurring character Graham on Point Pleasant, and became noted for his portrayal of Michael Nazzaro in the movie Treasure Raiders. Brand’s next role was in Say It in Russian, where he worked with actress Faye Dunaway. He later landed parts in The Nine and Shark, before he acted in the FOX pilot, The Apostles. In 2008, Brand embarked on several projects. He was chosen to play Mr. Black in the comedy Stone & Ed, was seen on the short film 15-40, and joined the cast of the series Samurai Girl as Severin. He later signed on to work on The Human Contract and XII.
