Jared Tristan Padalecki was born on July 19, 1982 in San Antonio, Texas.


#33 Jared’s Family

Jared’s mother Sharon is a high school English teacher still living in Texas and his father Gerald is an ccountant. Jared also has two siblings: an older brother named Jeff and a younger sister named Megan.


#32 Jared’s Education

Jared attended James Madison High School in San Antonio. In 1998, he and Chris Csrdenas won a national forensic championship for Duo Interpretation.


#31 Claim to Fame Contest

In 1999, FOX sponsored the “Claim to Fame” contest,m a nationwide search to find average teenagers to present an award at the first Teen Choice Awards. Jared won and was flown out to Los Angeles where he met his manager and soon thereafter he moved to L.A. to pursue a career in acting.

Jared’s first professional acting role was in this small movie about a baseball player raising his daughter.


#29 Gilmore Girls

In 2000, Gilmore Girls premiered on the WB. He began as a recurring guest star for the first season, but was promoted to a series regular during the second and third seasons before returning to guest status for seasons 4 and 5.


#28 Dean Forester

In the beginning, Dean moved to Stars Hollow from Chicago with his parents and little sister. He quickly got a job as a bag boy for Doose’s Market and developed a crush on Rory Gilmore.


#27 Dean and Rory

During the first season, Dean and Rory grew closer, sharing their first kiss in Doose’s Market. He also took her to her first Chilton dance, but got into a fight with Tristan. The two grew apart during season 1 because Dean felt Rory was more interested in the rich, smart guys of Chilton, but by the end of the season 1 they got back together.


#26 Dean vs. Jess

In season 2, the show introduced Luke’s nephew Jess, a bad boy who slowly wormed his way into Rory’s heart. Dean felt like he was losing his girlfriend to Jess, and during the season 3 Staes Hollow dance-a-thon, Dean broke up with Rory so she could be with Jess.


#25 Dean and Lindsay

After breaking up with Rory, Dean began dating a fellow Stars Hollow High School student Lindsay. The two were engaged by the end of season 3 and got married in season 4.


#24 Dean and Rory, Again

At the end of season 4, Dean and Rory slept together although he was still married to Lindsay at the time. He eventually separated from her and began dating Rory again, but after she met Logan, an incredibly rich fellow college student, Dean and Rory broke up again over their obvious economic and intellectual differences.


#23 Teen Choice Awards – Gilmore Girls

In 2002, Jared was nominated for Choice Actor in a TV Drama for his role in Gilmore Girls. He lost to 7th Heaven’s Barry Watson.


#22 Silent Witness/Close to Home

In 2000 and 2001, Jared starred in this two TV movies.


#21 ER

Jared survived a 2001 guest spot on ER as James Belushi’s son.


#20 A Ring of Endless Light

Based on a popular book, Jared appeared in this movie about a young girl coping with the death of her grandfather by bonding with dolphins.


#19 Young MacGyver

In 2003, Jared was cast as the star for a WB pilot that was a remake of the classic TV series Macgyver. The show wasn’t picked up, but luckily that meant he was free to do Supernatural two years later.


#18 Cheaper by the Dozen

Jared auditioned for a bigger role in Cheaper by the Dozen, but when a prior commitment forced him out of the audition process, his role landed to one of Jared’s friends, fellow CW star Tom Welling. Thanks to Tom, Jared was able to film a quick, uncredited role as a bully thanks to the fact that he was one of the few young actors taller and bigger than Welling.


#17 New York Minute

In 2004, Jared played the object of desire for the Olsen twins in their movie New York Minute.


#16 Flight of the Phoenix

In 2004, Jared starred in a remake of the film Flight of the Phoenix about a plane thaqt crashes in the desert.


#15 House of Wax

In 2005, Jared co-starred in the horror remake House of Wax alongside his good friend and fellow CW star Chad Michael Murray.


#14 Teen Choice Awards – House of Wax

In 2005, Jared was nominated for Choice Movie Breakout Performance by a Mlae for his performance in House of Wax.


#13 Cry Wolf

In 2005, Jared co-starred in the murder mystery film Cry Wolf. It was during this film that he met and started dating his co-star Sandra McCoy.


#12 Room 401

During the summer of 2007, Jared hosted the MTV reality show Room 401 in which average people were subjected to pranks with a horror movie twist.


#11 Thomas Kinkade’s Home for Christmas

In 2008, Jared starred in Thomas Kinkade’s Home for Christmas in which he played the title role, a famous painter. He co-starred in the movie with Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden and acting legend Peter O’Toole.


#10 Supernatural

In 2005, Jared was cast as Sam Winchester, the younger brother of Dean on the WB series Supernatural.


#9 Sam Winchester

Sam was born on May 2, 1983 in Lawrence, Kansas. When he was younger, the demon Azazel entered his room and dripped his blood into Sam’s mouth as part of a deal Sam’s mother Mary made with the demon. Sam exhibits supernatural abilities of telekinesis and the ability to exorcise demons from their human hosts. He tried to have a normal life by going to Stanford, but his past caught up with him and he was recruited by his brother to hunt demons across the country.


#8 Sam in a Towel

For many fans, this scene from the first season episode “Hell House” remains a favorite as the Winchester brothers pull pranks on one another. It’s pretty obvious why this scene stays in the memories of fans.


#7 Sam’s Death

At the end of season 2, Sam was killed by a fellow kid with special demonic powers. However, Dean made a deal with the Crossroads Demon to give up his soul after one year if it meant Sam could come back to life.


#6 Sam and Ruby

After coming back from the dead, Sam seemed different, most notably in his relationship with Ruby, a demon who tried to help Sam understand his true potential. After Dean was sent to Hell as part of the deal, Ruby helped train Sam to use his abilities to kill demons, leading them to a dark and sexual relationship.


#5 Teen Choice Awards – Supernatural

In 2007, Jared was nominated for Choice Actor in a TV Drama for his role in Supernatural. He lost to House’s Hugh Laurie.


#4 TV Guide’s Sexiest Stars

In 2008, TV Guide named Jared one of the sexiest stars on TV, resulting in one of his fans’ favorite photo shoots.


#3 Jared and Sandra McCoy

Jared met Sandra McCoy on the set of the 2005 horror film Cry Wolf and the two began dating shortly thereafter. Sandra auditioned for the first season of Pussycat Dolls Present and guest starred on an episode of Supernatural. Jared proposed to her in Paris during the writer’s strike in early 2008. However, they later broke off their engagement and are no longer together.
