NBC's 2009-2010 Lineup: 'Chuck' to Midseason, Jay Leno Everywhere

May 19, 2009

After its initial announcement last month about the shows it would pick up, today NBC revealed its official 2009-2010 schedule and also made several official cancellations.

My Name is Earl and Medium are both gone, though there are possibilities that both shows could be picked up by rival networks.  For My Name is Earl, it's especially difficult since the season ended with a cliffhanger.

NBC Unveils Fall Line-up, Six New Shows Ordered, No Word on 'Chuck'

May 4, 2009

NBC unveiled their slate of programs for the 2009-2010 season this morning.  Six new pilots were picked up (two comedies, four dramas).  NBC failed to concoct an actual day-by-day schedule for the Fall - they are expected to release that schedule within a couple of weeks.  Not mentioned during NBC's announcement this morning were the likes of Chuck, Medium, My Name is Earl, Law & Order and Life.  Some of those series could get picked up for mid-season.  As of right now, the fall schedule looks filled to the brim, especially when you consider that Jay Leno's new show will be taking up five hours of prime-time per week.  For Chuck fans, the wait continues, although the forecast isn't terribly bright.  Shows picked up for next season include Parks and Recreation, Southland and Heroes.  NBC has also ordered six more episodes of Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday for the Fall.

Here's a rundown of the six new shows from NBC:

'Law and Order' Alum Elisabeth Rohm Back to Police Work

December 17, 2008

Previously, we reported that Law and Order returned to its highly anticipated 19th season way back in November.  The show is back with Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy.  On that episode called “Rumble,” a stockbroker received a fatal beating, which resulted to an epic clash between his family and the group allegedly responsible for the murder.  Waterston previously said that he was happy how the show has endured so many seasons.  He was also surprised that his stint is proving to be longer than he thought.

Last night, Law and Order alum Elisabeth Rohm appeared on the CBS procedural The Mentalist as Sophie.  On the episode entitled “Red Brick and Ivy,” a leading scientific researcher became the victim of poisoning and Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) became increasingly involved in the case personally because the victim's wife turned out to be the prime suspect – and his former psychiatrist.  On that episode, the past of Baker came back to hunt him, without his consent.

'Law & Order' Returns to NBC with Season 19 Tonight

November 5, 2008

The day has finally come for fans of NBC’s Law & Order as its anticipated 19th season is set to air tonight at 10pm.  In fact, the long-running show brings back Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy for its 328th episode titled “Rumble.”  Tonight, fans will get to see the fatal beating of a stockbroker, which then spurs an epic clash between his family and the group responsible for the murder.  As for Waterston, he says he is amazed at the show’s endurance on the airwaves and initially thought that it was going to be a short stint for him.

"I had no idea how long the show was going to last. But I knew I would only be with [Law & Order] for a year," Waterston says during a telephone conference call with television critics.

'Battlestar Galactica' Actress to Appear on 'Law & Order'

October 29, 2008

As reported recently, Law and Order will be returning for its 19th season earlier than originally scheduled.  With NBC's revamped schedule, the long-running crime drama has now been added to the Wednesday nigh block, beginning November 5.  But aside from the show's sooner-than-expected comeback, fans can expect a lot of guest stars this season.  One of which is Katee Sackhoff, who is perhaps best known for her role as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the Sci Fi Channel television program Battlestar Galactica.

In addition to Battlestar Galactica, where she won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series in 2006, Sackhoff has also appeared on Bionic Woman as Sarah Corvus, on Cold Case as Terri Maxwell and as Nell Bickford on The Education of Max Bickford.
