Sharon Case, who was born on February 9, 1971 in Detroit, Michigan, is the third and longest-running actress to play Sharon Collins Newman on The Young and the Restless, a role which led her to win the Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1999. In 1998, she also won the Soap Opera Award for Hottest Female In A Daytime Drama. 2001 saw her appearing on FHM magazine. Her other television credits include General Hospital , where she played Dawn Winthrop, As the World Turns where she played Debbie Simon, Cheers and Beverly Hills 90210 .

The only daughter of Doris Collins, Sharon grew up modestly, unlike her high school sweetheart, Nicholas Newman who was the son of tycoon Victor Newman. Sharon was in high school when Doris was paralyzed after getting into a car accident caused by Sharon herself. She wouldn’t listen to her mother so she ran off, with Doris chasing after her. It was also in high school when she married Nicholas. With her father in law, Victor’s help, she was able to put her mother through surgery to save her life. Sharon also has a rocky relationship with her mother in law, Nikki, who always thought that Sharon was using the Newman family to obtain large sums of money. At the age of 16, Sharon had a baby daughter named Cassie, whom she later gave up for adoption. Years later, the two were reunited with the help of Sharon’s friend, Grace Turner.
