Born on August 10, 1984, actor Ryan Eggold was active in theater during his high school years; he further pursued that track as a student of the University of Southern California. He made his professional debut in 2006, through a guest appearance on the TV show Related. The same year, he made his film debut in the short film Con: The Corruption of Shawn Helm.
Eggold then had recurring roles in the daytime soap The Young and the Restless and the drama series Dirt. In 2008, he joined the cast of the Cw's 90210, appearing as unorthodox literature teacher Ryan Matthews. He also continued acting on stage, appearing in several Los Angeles-based productions. He was also cast on Trophy Kids as Max Wolfowitz in 2010, as well as on the films Sironia and Driving by Braille.
