Robin Weigert was born on July 7, 1969 in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Brandeis University, attended New York University and trained at the Tisch School of the Arts. Her television credits included Law & Order , Angels in America, Without a Trace , CSI , Cold Case and The Unit to name a few. Ultimately, she became part of the television series Deadwood as Calamity Jane where she was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting actress in a Drama Series.

Calamity Jane is known for her hard drinking and swearing. She is a former scout for General Custer who arrived in Deadwood with Wild Bill Hickok and Charlie Utter . After Hickok's murder, she sinks into extreme depression and alcoholism.

Emmy nominee Robin Weigert was born on July 7, 1969 in Washington, D.C. She is best known for her role as the unkempt and foul-mouhted Calamity Jane in Deadwood , an HBO series. She was educated at Brandeis University during the early 1990s, and later on furthered her studies at New York University. She earned a master's degree in fine arts in the highly regarded acting program at Tisch School of the Arts. She then spent ten years acting in stage productions until she moved to Los Angeles to appear in various movies and television series. Before setting foot on the path to an acting career, she worked as a waitress and receptionist.

Robin Weigert made her first marks on television, appearing on the made-for-TV movie Twelfth Night, or What You Will. She soon gained fame portraying the character Denise Luca in Law & Order, which was followed by a role in the award-winning Angels in America. This enabled her to work with top-billing actors like Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Mary-Louise Parker and Michael Gambon. She soon received roles on many television series, some of them being Without a Trace, NYPD Blue, Judging Amy and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She was also a guest star on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Weigert gained more fame when she appeared on Steven Soderbergh's The Good German, where she played Hannelore in 2006. She continued her TV appearances, being seen on The Unit, Numb3rs and the award-winning sci-fi series Lost. She was soon cast on the NBC series Life, playing the hard-hitting Lt. Karen Davis. Weigert was soon cast in films like Synecdoche, New York as an adult Olivia, and was seen in Winged Creatures in 2008. Another film credit of hers includes the drama Things We Lost in the Fire, which enabled her to work alongside Halle Berry, Benicio del Toro, and David Duchovny.
